Abstract:A key to the species of the genus Gryllotalpa from China is given.A new species,G.mabiana sp.nov.,is described.The new species is similar to G.pygmaea found in Nepal,from which it may be distinguished by radius undivided distally,stridulatory area shaped as triangle,and lateral tip of transversal sclerite of epiphallus acute.G.mabiana sp.nov.is also similar to G.henana,but can be distinguished by:the fore wing reaching beyond the fifth tergite,hind wing reaching posterior margin of forth tergite;pronotum without cordate sculptural marks;parameres as hook-shaped.

Abstract:The article revised Chinese Podoscirtinae species. Three new species of Aphonoides Chopard, 1940 were reported. Two species of the genera of Aphonoides Chopard, 1940 and Mistshenkoana Gorochov, 1990 were firstly recorded from China. Six synonyms of the genera of Zvenella Gorochov, 1988 and Phyllotrella Gorochov, 1988 were proposed. All species mentioned above and some relevant taxa were described and illustrated, and keys as well as distribution map were provided.

Abstract:This paper presents a historical review of taxonomic research on the superfamilies Dolichocyboidea, Pygmephoroidea, Scutacaroidea and Trochometridioidea in China, with a discussion of the valid status of Luciaphorus auriculariae, and a checklist of 49 species belonging to 6 families and 17 genera, including 16 species of new records for China. The second part of this paper briefly reviews the studies on the biology and control of the pygmephoroid and scutacaroid mites in China, which include Brennandania lambi, Luciaphorus auriculariae, Pseudopygmephorus quadratus, Siteroptes avenae, S. flechtmanni, S. huangshuiensis, S. qinghaiensis, S. reniformis, S. triticola and S. xizangensis.

Abstract:Species of the genera Breviterebra Kusigemati, 1982, Charops Holmgren, 1859 and Scenocharops Uchida, 1932 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Campopleginae) from China are revised. Of the 13 species recognized, three are described as new species: Breviterebra apicocrinis sp. nov., Charops mauroknemus sp. nov. and Scenocharops yunnanensis sp. nov. The genus Breviterebra Kusigemati and the species Scenocharps montanus Gupta Maheshwary, 1971 are recorded in China for the first time. The distribution area of C. brachypterus (Cameron), C. striatus (Uchida), S. flavipetiolus (Sonan) and S. parasae He in China are updated. DNA barcode fragment of the mitochondrial COI gene of B. apicocrinis sp. nov. is presented. Keys to Breviterebra, Charops and Scenocharops are provided.

Abstract:Hemigyrus was established by Brunner von Wattenwyl in 1893. In this study, we collected samples from Chongqing, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Tibet and Yunnan of China, and reconstructed phylogenetic tree based on COI gene. The results supported the classification of dividing this genus into two subgenera: Tomomima and Hemigyrus. With larger size and evidently branched phylogenetic position, a new subspecies H. (T.) spinosus robustus subsp. nov. Xie, Wang He is described here. H. (H.) acutifolius is firstly reported from China. Males of H. (H.) amplus and H. (H.) acutifolius, females of H. (H.) minor are described for the first time. All materials were deposited in Biological History Museum of East China Normal University (ECNU) and the Shanghai Entomological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SEM).

Abstract:The genus Pseudorthocladius Goetghebuer, 1943 from China, including 12 species, is reviewed. Five new species, P. (P.) binarius sp. n., P. (P.) cylindratus sp. n., P. (P.) digitus sp. n., P. (P.) ovatus sp. n. and P. (P.) paucus sp. n. are described and illustrated as adult males. P. (P.) cristagus Stur & Sæther, 2004, P. (P.) jintutridecima (Sasa, 1996), P. (P.) macrovirgatus Sæther & Sublette, 1983, P. (P.) morsei Sæther & Sublette, 1983, P. (P.) uniserratus Sæther & Sublette, 1983, P. Abstract:The assassin bugs of the genus Acanthaspis Amyot & Serville (Reduviinae) from China are revised. Fourteen species are recognized, described or redescribed and illustrated. Three species, A. fulviconnexa, A. melanota, and A. octoguttata, are described as new to science. Acanthaspis subinermis Hsiao 1976 is synonymized with A. laoensis Distant 1919. A key for the identification of Chinese species of Acanthaspis is provided. The biology of A. cincticrus Stål is briefly noted. The following species are newly recorded from adjacent countries: A. collaris Hsiao from Laos and Thailand, A. geniculata Hsiao from Vietnam, A. picta Hsiao from Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, A. quinquespinosa (Fabricius) from Nepal, A. ruficeps Hsiao from Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, and A. laoensis Distant from Thailand.

Abstract:This paper deals with five species of the genus Homogryllacris Liu, 2007 from China, including one new species, i.e. Homogryllacris nigromacula sp. nov. Morphological illustrations of most species and habitus of the new species are provided. Moreover, one geographical population of Homogryllacris yunnana Shi, Guo & Bian, 2012 and intraspecific variation of Homogryllacris platycis Liu & Bian, 2021 are discussed and illustrated. All specimens examined are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.

Abstract:The genus Epeorus Eaton, 1881 is diverse in China but has never been specifically studied before. In this revision, eight species in Epeorus (Proepeorus) from China are recognised, including two new species, Epeorus (Proepeorus) gibbus sp. nov., Epeorus (Proepeorus) falcatus sp. nov. and additional five new records for this country. Both new species have unique shape of imaginal penis and tubercles on nymphal terga. The variation of Epeorus (Proepeorus) in China shows this subgenus may not be a monophyletic taxon.
