TWO NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS GONIOGRYLLUS FROM CHINA (ORTHOPTERA,GRYLLIDAE)

Abstract:This paper describes two new species of the genus Goniogryllus Chopard from China. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.1 Goniogryllus sexflorus sp. nov. (Fig.1) This new species is allied to Goniogryllus atripalpulus Chen et Zheng, but differs in:1) two sides of pronotum with only a narrow indistinct yellow-brown band in the front region; 2) dorsal surface of posterior tibia armed with 3 external spurs and 4 internal spurs; 3) ventral surface of abdomen black-brown; 4) anterior margins of 3-5th notum of abdomen each with a pair of membranous depressions. ♀. Length of body 14.5?mm, length of pronotum 2.8?mm, width of pronotum 4?mm, length of posterior femur 9?mm, length of ovipositor 11?mm. Holotype ♀, Ningshan,Shaanxi Province, 1?580?mm, 27 July 1998, collected by CHEN Jun.2 Goniogryllus cheni sp. nov. (Fig.2) This new species is allied to Goniogryllus atripalpulus Chen et Zheng, but differs in:1) posterior margin of pronotum slightly straight; 2) the inner area near anterior margin of pronotum with a yellow-brown band; 3) only posterior margin of mesonotum visible, the rest covered by pronotum; 4) external surface of posterior femur all black and superior margin of posterior femur with a short yellow-brown band near apical area; 5) internal-superior apical spur of posterior tibia is the shortest. ♀.Length of body 15.8?mm, length of pronotum 3?mm,width of pronotum 3.5?mm, length of posterior femur 9?mm, length of ovipositor 12.2?mm. Holotype ♀, Kangxian, Gansu Province, 1?450-1?650?m, 15 July 1998, collected by CHEN Jun. (Named after its collector)
