TWO NEW SPECIES OF PACHYPROTASIS HARTIG (HYMENOPTERA,TENTHREDINIDAE) FROM CHINA

Abstract:Two new species of Pachyprotasis Hartig from China are described:P.breviserrula Wei et Zhong,sp.nov.,and P.obscurodentella Wei et Zhong sp.nov.Type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South University of Forestry and Technology,Changsha,Hunan,China.Pachyprotasis breviserrula Wei et Zhong,sp.nov.(Figs.1-3)Female.Body length 9.5 mm.This species is similar to P.wulingensis Wei,2006,but can be easily separated from the latter by:first flagellomere slightly longer than 2nd flagellomere;the transverse band on under part of mesepisternum narrower and shorter than the latter;surface between punctures on dorsal part of head polished,strongly shining,apex of each serrula strongly elevated,distal sub-basal teeth very few.Holotype ♀,Mt.Longshan,Lianyuan(27°683'N,111°667'E),Hunan Province,China,10 May 1999,coll.XIAO Wei.Paratypes:6♀♀,Mt.Longshan,Lianyuan(27°683'N,111°667'E),Hunan Province,China,10 May 1999,coll.XIAO Wei and ZHANG Kai-Jian;1♀,Dongluyuan,Mt.Longshan,Liuyang(28°166'N,113°633'E;alt.800-900 m),Hunan Province,China,10 May 2004,coll.ZHAO Cheng-Ji;1♀,Hongjunting,Mt.Maoer,(25°54'N,110°27'E,alt.1 570 m),Guangxi Province,China,17 May 2006,coll.YOU Qun.Pachyprotasis obscurodentella Wei et Zhong,sp.nov.(Figs.4-6)Female.Body length 10.0 mm.This species is similar to P.breviserrula Wei et Zhong,but can be recognized from the latter by:the first flagellomere slightly shorter than 2nd flagellomere,the outer side of metacoxa with a black stripe,apical 3/5 of metafemora black,postocellar area broad than long as 13:9,forewing with middle petiole of anal cell shorter than basal anal cell as 4:5.This species is also similar to P.lineatella Wei et Nie,but differs from the latter in:lateral sides of mesonotal middle lobe with distinct "V" spot,spot on temple very large,apex of each serrula strongly elevated,posterior sub-basal teeth very few and obscure.Holotype ♀,Taoyandong,Yanling(26°5'N,113°7'E;alt.900-1 000 m),Hunan Province,China,24 Apr.1999,coll.WEI Mei-Cai.Paratypes:2♀♀,Huangsang,Suinin(25°6'N,110°15'E;alt.600-900 m),Hunan Province,China,21-22 Apr.2005,coll.XIAO Wei;1♀,Foping(33°333'N,107°49'E;alt.1 000-1 450 m),Shanxi Province,China,17 May 2005,coll.ZHU Xun;2♀♀,Chebaling(24°40'N,114°09'E;alt.400 m),Guangdong Province,China,13 Apr.2007,coll.WEI Mei-Cai and YOU Qun.
