Abstract:In the present paper,seven species(including a new species) of the genus Gessius are recognized from China.A new species G.dentatus sp.nov.is described and illustrated.A key to seven Chinese species are given.A generic new synonym Parakrisna Cai et He is proposed.Also a specific synonym is proposed.The type specimen of the new species is kept in the Institute of Entomology,Guizhou University.Gessius dentatus sp.nov.(Figs.1 ～ 8) Body length(incl.tegm.):♂9.8 mm,♀:11.0 mm.This new species resembles G.rufidorsus Wang et Li,but can be distinguished by the male aedeagus with a much longer and narrower preatrium,the distance from the gonopore to the end of the aedeagus is one-quarter as long as the length of aedeagus,apex of subgenital plate straight,ventral process with toothed ventral margin,its apex straight.Holotype:♂,Guizhou Province:Maolan,25-Ⅴ-1998,coll.Wang Lian-min.Paratypes:♀,Guizhou Province:Maolan,23-Ⅹ-1998,coll.Li Zi-zhong.
