Abstract:NiO/YSZ hollow fibers were fabricated via a combined phase inversion and sintering technique, where polyethersulfone (PESf) was employed as the polymeric binder and N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone (NMP) as solvent. After sintering at 1400{degree sign}C and being reduced by hydrogen at 800{degree sign}C, the hollow fibers showed a mechanical strength of 178 MPa, conductivity of 772 S⋅cm-1, and porosity of 37.0%, which were used as the porous anode support for MT-SOFCs. A 8% yttria stabilized Zirconia (8YSZ) electrolyte film with a thickness of 10μm was prepared by a dip-coating and co-sintering process on the outer surface of the NiO/YSZ hollow fiber to form anode/electrolyte half cell. A porous LSM layer with a thickness of 15 μm was coated on the surface of the electrolyte film as the cathode to form a single cell. The resultant cells displayed peak power densities of 964, 828 or 480 mW·cm-2 at 800{degree sign}C using H2/O2, H2/Air or CH4/air as the fuel/oxidant gases, respectively.
