Development History and Direction of Composite Insulators on Important Manufacture Technique

Abstract:The history of composite insulators techniques have been described in this paper. For example, the development of interface connection techniques; the material of composite insulators; end envelop; shed figure; uniformity voltage fitting and so on had been compared between each age and the conclusion which had been found from these comparison is that the composite insulator technique has been mature gradually and more advanced than other countries. The paper also pointed out that the operation experience and standard of the composite insulators is not enough; the reliability of composite insulators which will be the one of most important question of transmission line in China will be studied in the future; technical specification about 1000 kV AC and 800 kV DC composite insulators would be improved which should considers the difference between the 1000 kV AC and 800 kV DC transmission system and normal power transmission system; monitoring for composite insulators on the transmission line are need to be focused on. The improvement of the housing tracking and erosion; the shed figure; the dimension of uniformity voltage fitting; the aging test and the test of long string mechanical vibration should be discuss in this article.
