Abstract:In this paper, we prove that two Randers metrics are pointwise projectively related if and only if they have the same Douglas tensors and the corresponding Riemannian metrics are projectively related. Moreover, Randers metrics of constant flag curvature and Einstein–Randers metrics are considered.

Abstract:A theory of Poincaré series is developed for Lobachevsky space of arbitrary dimension. For a general non-uniform lattice a Selberg-Kloosterman zeta function is introduced. It has meromorphic continuation to the plane with poles at the corresponding automorphic spectrum. When the lattice is a unit group of a rational quadratic form, the Selberg-Kloosterman zeta function is computed explicitly in terms of exponential sums. In this way a non-trivial Ramanujan-like bound analogous to “Selberg’s 3/16 bound” is proved in general.

Abstract:In these notes we generalize the notion of a (pseudo) metric measuring the distance of two points, to a (pseudo) n -metric which assigns a value to a tuple of points. Some elementary properties of pseudo n -metrics are provided and their construction via exterior products is investigated. We discuss some examples from the geometry of Euclidean vector spaces leading to pseudo n -metrics on the unit sphere, on the Stiefel manifold, and on the Grassmann manifold. Further, we construct a pseudo n -metric on hypergraphs and discuss the problem of generalizing the Hausdorff metric for closed sets to a pseudo n -metric.

Abstract:The correlation evolution of a high luminosity subsample of the CNOC2 redshift survey is examined. The sample is restricted to galaxies for which the k corrected and evolution corrected R luminosity is M_R <=-20 mag, where M_* ~= -20.3 mag. This subsample contains about 2300 galaxies. In consort with 13000 galaxies in a similarly defined low redshift sample from the Las Campanas Redshift survey we find that the comoving correlation can be described as xi(r|z) = (r_00/r)^gamma (1+z)^{-(3+e)} with r_00=5.08 +/- 0.08/h Mpc, e=0.02 +/- 0.23 and gamma=1.81 +/- 0.03 over the z=0.03 to 0.65 redshift range in a cosmology with Omega_M=0.2, Lambda=0. The measured clustering amplitude, and its evolution, are dependent on the adopted cosmology. The evolution rates for Omega_M=1 and flat low density models are e=0.9 +/- 0.3 and e=-0.5 +/- 0.2, respectively, with r_00 ~= 5/h Mpc in all cases.

Llarull's theorem on punctured sphere with L^∞ metric

Abstract:The classical Llarull theorem states that a smooth metric on n-sphere cannot have scalar curvature no less than n(n-1) and dominate the standard spherical metric at the same time unless it is the standard spherical metric. In this work, we prove that Llarull's rigidity theorem holds for L^∞ metrics on spheres with finitely many points punctured. This is related to a question of Gromov.

Abstract:A [Formula: see text]-metric on an n-dimensional closed Riemannian manifold naturally induces a distance function, provided p is sufficiently close to n. If a sequence of metrics [Formula: see text] converges in [Formula: see text] to a limit metric [Formula: see text], then the corresponding distance functions [Formula: see text] subconverge to a limit distance function d, which satisfies [Formula: see text]. As an application, we show that the above convergence result applies to a sequence of conformal metrics with [Formula: see text]-bounded scalar curvatures, under certain geometric assumptions. In particular, in this special setting, the limit distance function d actually coincides with [Formula: see text].

Abstract:We study the Penrose inequality and its rigidity for metrics with singular sets. Our result could be viewed as a complement of Theorem 1.1 of Lu and Miao (J. Funct. Anal. 281, 2021) and Theorem 1.2 of Shi, Wang and Yu (Math. Z. 291, 2019), in which they assume the singular set is a hypersurface and assume an additional condition on the mean curvature. As a complement, this paper study the case of singular set of dimensional less than n-1, without any additional conditions.

Abstract:On the symbolic space endowed with a metric given by a Gibbs measure, it is shown that, for any invariant probability measure mu other than the given Gibbs measure, the set of mu-generical points satisfies a 'zero-infinity law' (in particular, its Hausdorff and packing measure ire infinite). This extends a result of R. Kaufman on Besicovitch-Eggleston sets, and applies to le-vel sets of Birkhoff averages and certain subsets of self-similar sets.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the fractional Hardy inequality on polarisable metric measure spaces. The integral Hardy inequality for $1<p\leq q<\infty$ is playing a key role in the proof. Moreover, we also prove the fractional Hardy-Sobolev type inequality on metric measure spaces. In addition, logarithmic Hardy-Sobolev and fractional Nash type inequalities on metric measure spaces are presented. In addition, we present applications on homogeneous groups and on the Heisenberg group.

Abstract:We generalize the following classical result of Fubini for pseudo-Riemannian metrics: if three essentially different metrics on $M^{n\ge 3}$ share the same unparametrized geodesics, and two of them (say, $g$ and $\bar g$) are strictly nonproportional (i.e., the minimal polynomial of $g^{i\alpha} \bar g_{\alpha j}$ coincides with the characteristic polynomial) at least at one point, then they have constant curvature.
