Abstract:We prove the nontrivial variant \[ \sum\limits_{m,n=1}^{\infty}\Big(\frac{n}{m}\Big)^{\frac{1}{q}-\frac{1}{p}}\frac{a_mb_n}{m+n-1}\leq\frac{\pi}{\sin\frac{\pi}{p}} \Big( \sum\limits_{m=1}^{\infty}a_m^p\Big)^{\frac 1p}\Big( \sum\limits_{n=1}^{\infty}b_n^q\Big)^{\frac 1q} \] of the well known Hilbert's inequality. Then we use this to determine the exact value $\frac{\pi}{\sin\frac{\pi}p}$ of the norm of the Hilbert matrix as an operator acting on the Hardy-Littlewood space $K^p$. This space consists of all functions $f(z)=\sum\limits_{m=0}^{\infty}a_mz^m$ analytic in the unit disc with $\|f\|_{K^p}^p=\sum\limits_{m=0}^{\infty}(m+1)^{p-2}|a_m|^p<+\infty$.

Abstract:Several unitarily invariant norm inequalities and numerical radius inequalities for Hilbert space operators are studied. We investigate some necessary and sufficient conditions for the parallelism of two bounded operators. For a finite rank operator $A,$ it is shown that \begin{eqnarray*} \|A\|_{p} &\leq &\left(\textit{rank} \, A\right)^{1/{2p}} \|A\|_{2p} \,\, \leq \,\, \left(\textit{rank} \, A\right)^{{(2p-1)}/{2p^2}} \|A\|_{2p^2}, \quad \textit{for all $p\geq 1 $} \end{eqnarray*} where $\|\cdot\|_p$ is the Schatten $p$-norm. If $\{ \lambda_n(A) \}$ is a listing of all non-zero eigenvalues (with multiplicity) of a compact operator $A$, then we show that \begin{eqnarray*} \sum_{n} \left|\lambda_n(A)\right|^{p} &\leq& \frac12 \| A\|_{ p}^{ p} + \frac12 \| A^2\|_{p/2}^{p/2}, \quad \textit{for all $p\geq 2$} \end{eqnarray*} which improves the classical Weyl's inequality $\sum_{n} \left|\lambda_n(A)\right|^{p} \leq \| A\|_{ p}^{ p}$ [Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. USA 1949]. For an $n\times n$ matrix $A$, we show that the function $p\to n^{-{1}/{p}}\|A\|_p$ is monotone increasing on $p\geq 1,$ complementing the well known decreasing nature of $p\to \|A\|_p.$ \indent As an application of these inequalities, we provide an upper bound for the sum of the absolute values of the zeros of a complex polynomial. As another application we provide a refined upper bound for the energy of a graph $G$, namely, $\mathcal{E}(G) \leq \sqrt{2m\left(\textit{rank Adj(G)} \right)},$ where $m$ is the number of edges, improving on a bound by McClelland in $1971$.

Abstract:We introduce a new norm (say -norm) on the space of all bounded linear operators defined on a normed linear space . We explore various properties of the -norm. In addition, we study several equalities and inequalities of the -norm of operators on As an application, we obtain an upper bound for the numerical radius of product of operators, which improves a well-known upper bound of the numerical radius for sectorial matrices. We present the -norm of operators by using the extreme points of the unit ball of the corresponding spaces. Furthermore, we define a geometric constant (say -index) associated with and study properties of the -index. In particular, we obtain the exact value of the -index for some polyhedral spaces and complex Hilbert space. Finally, we study the -index of -sum of normed linear spaces.

Abstract:We establish new upper bounds for Berezin number and Berezin norm of operator matrices, which are refinements of the existing bounds. Among other bounds, we prove that if $A=[A_{ij}]$ is an $n\times n$ operator matrix with $A_{ij}\in\mathbb{B}(\mathcal{H})$ for $i,j=1,2\dots n$, then $\|A\|_{ber} \leq \left\|\left[\|A_{ij}\|_{ber}\right]\right\|$ and $\textbf{ber}(A) \leq w([a_{ij}]),$ where $a_{ii}=\textbf{ber}(A_{ii}),$ $a_{ij}=\big\||A_{ij}|+|A^*_{ji}|\big\|^{\frac{1}{2}}_{ber} \big\||A_{ji}|+|A^*_{ij}|\big\|^{\frac{1}{2}}_{ber}$ if $i<j$ and $a_{ij}=0$ if $i>j$. Further, we give some examples for the Berezin number and Berezin norm estimation of operator matrices on the Hardy-Hilbert space.

Abstract:Let f be a sum of exponentials of the form exp(2 pi i N x), where the N are distinct integers. We call f an idempotent trigonometric polynomial (because the convolution of f with itself is f) or, simply, an idempotent. We show that for every p > 1, and every set E of the torus T = R/Z with |E| > 0, there are idempotents concentrated on E in the Lp sense. More precisely, for each p > 1, there is an explicitly calculated constant Cp > 0 so that for each E with |E| > 0 and epsilon > 0 one can find an idempotent f such that the pth root of the ratio of the integral over E of the pth power of |f| to the integral over T of the pth power of |f| is greater than Cp - epsilon. This is in fact a lower bound result and, though not optimal, it is close to the best that our method gives. We also give both heuristic and computational evidence for the still open problem of whether the Lp concentration phenomenon fails to occur when p = 1.

Abstract:It is shown that for all positive values of $p$, $q$, and $r$ with $\frac{1}{q} = \frac{1}{p} + \frac{1}{r}$, the operator norm of the dyadic paraproduct of the form \[ \pi_g(f) := \sum_{R \in \Dtwo} g_R \avr{f}{R} h_R, \] from the bi-parameter dyadic Hardy space $\dyprodhp$ to $\dotdyprodhq$ is comparable to $\dotdyprodhrn{g}$. We also prove that for all $0 < p < \infty$, there holds \[ \dyprodbmon{g} \simeq \|\pi_g\|_{\dyprodhp \to \dotdyprodhp}. \] Similar results are obtained for bi-parameter Fourier paraproducts of the same form.

Abstract:A recent paper computed the induced $p$-norm of a special class of circulant matrices $A(n,a,b) \in \mathbb{R}^{n \times n}$, with the diagonal entries equal to $a \in \mathbb{R}$ and the off-diagonal entries equal to $b \ge 0$. We provide shorter proofs for all the results therein using Fourier analysis. The key observation is that a circulant matrix is diagonalized by a DFT matrix. We obtain an exact expression for $\|A\|_p, 1 \le p \le \infty$, where $A = A(n,a,b), a \ge 0$ and for $\|A\|_2$ where $A = A(n,-a,b), a \ge 0$; for the other $p$-norms of $A(n,-a,b)$, $2 < p < \infty$, we provide upper and lower bounds.

We show that a linear map $\phi:M_{mn}\rightarrow M_{mn}$ satisfies $$\|\phi(A\otimes B)\|_{(p,k)}=\|A\otimes B\|_{(p,k)} {\rm\quad for~ all\quad}A\in M_m {\rm ~and ~}B\in M_n$$ if and only if there exist unitary matrices $U,V\in M_{mn}$ such that $$\phi(A\otimes B)=U(\varphi_1(A)\otimes \varphi_2(B))V {\rm\quad for~ all\quad}A\in M_m {\rm~ and~ }B\in M_n,$$ where $\varphi_s$ is the identity map or the transposition map $X\to X^T$ for $s=1,2$. Abstract: The $p-$Bergman kernel $K_p(\cdot)$ is shown to be of $C^{1,1/2}$ for $1<p<\infty$. An unexpected relation between the off-diagonal $p-$Bergman kernel $K_p(\cdot,z)$ and certain weighted $L^2$ Bergman kernel is given for $1\le p\le 2$. As applications, we show that for each $1\le p\le 2$, $K_p(\cdot,z)\in L^q(\Omega)$ for $q< \frac{2pn}{2n-\alpha(\Omega)}$ and $|K_s(z)-K_p(z)| \lesssim |s-p||\log |s-p||$ whenever the hyperconvexity index $\alpha(\Omega)$ is positive. Counterexamples for $2<p<\infty$ are given respectively. An optimal upper bound for the holomorphic sectional curvature of the $p-$Bergman metric when $2\le p<\infty$ is obtained. For bounded $C^2$ domains, it is shown that the Hardy space and the Bergman space satisfy $H^p(\Omega)\subset A^q(\Omega)$ where $q=p(1+\frac1n)$. A new concept so-called the $p-$Schwarz content is introduced. As applications, upper bounds of the Banach-Mazur distance between $p-$Bergman spaces are given, and $A^p(\Omega)$ is shown to be non-Chebyshev in $L^p(\Omega)$ for $0<p\le 1$. For planar domains, we obtain a rigidity theorem for the $p-$Bergman kernel (which is not valid in high dimensional cases), and a characterization of non-isolated boundary points through completeness of the Narasimhan-Simha metric.

Abstract:In this paper we attempt to develop a general p-Bergman theory on bounded domains in C-n. To indicate the basic difference between L-p and L-2 cases, we show that the p-Bergman kernel K-p(z) is not real-analytic on some bounded complete Reinhardt domains when p > 4is an even number. By the calculus of variations we get a fundamental reproducing formula. This together with certain techniques from nonlinear analysis of the p-Laplacian yield a number of results, e.g., the off-diagonal p-Bergman kernel K-p(z, center dot) is Holder continuous of order 1/2 for p > 1and of order 1/2(n+2) for p = 1. We also show that the p-Bergman metric Bp(z; X) tends to the Caratheodory metric C(z; X) as p -> infinity and the generalized Levi form i partial derivative(partial derivative) over bar logK(p)(z; X) is no less than B-p(z; X)(2) for p >= 2 and C(z; X)(2) for p <= 2. $L^{\vec{p}}-L^{\vec{q}}$ Boundedness of Multiparameter Forelli-Rudin Type Operators on the Product of Unit Balls of $\mathbb{C}^n$

Abstract:In this work, we provide a complete characterization of the boundedness of two classes of multiparameter Forelli-Rudin type operators from one mixed-norm Lebesgue space $L^{\vec p}$ to another space $L^{\vec q}$, when $1\leq \vec{p}\leq \vec q<\infty$, equipped with possibly different weights. Using these characterizations, we establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for both $L^{\vec p}-L^{\vec q}$ boundedness of the weighted multiparameter Berezin transform and $L^{\vec p}-A^{\vec q}$ boundedness of the weighted multiparameter Bergman projection, where $A^{\vec q}$ denotes the mixed-norm Bergman space. Our approach presents several novelties. Firstly, we conduct refined integral estimates of holomorphic functions on the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. Secondly, we adapt the classical Schur's test to different weighted mixed-norm Lebesgue spaces. These improvements are crucial in our proofs and allow us to establish the desired characterization and sharp conditions.

Abstract:Our concern is with Riemannian symmetric spaces $Z=G/K$ of the non-compact type and more precisely with the Poisson transform $\mathcal{P}_\lambda$ which maps generalized functions on the boundary $\partial Z$ to $\lambda$-eigenfunctions on $Z$. Special emphasis is given to a maximal unipotent group $N<G$ which naturally acts on both $Z$ and $\partial Z$. The $N$-orbits on $Z$ are parametrized by a torus $A=(\mathbb{R}_{>0})^r<G$ (Iwasawa) and letting the level $a\in A$ tend to $0$ on a ray we retrieve $N$ via $\lim_{a\to 0} Na$ as an open dense orbit in $\partial Z$ (Bruhat). For positive parameters $\lambda$ the Poisson transform $\mathcal{P}_\lambda$ is defined an injective for functions $f\in L^2(N)$ and we give a novel characterization of $\mathcal{P}_\lambda(L^2(N))$ in terms of complex analysis. For that we view eigenfunctions $\phi = \mathcal{P}_\lambda(f)$ as families $(\phi_a)_{a\in A}$ of functions on the $N$-orbits, i.e. $\phi_a(n)= \phi(na)$ for $n\in N$. The general theory then tells us that there is a tube domain $\mathcal{T}=N\exp(i\Lambda)\subset N_\mathbb{C}$ such that each $\phi_a$ extends to a holomorphic function on the scaled tube $\mathcal{T}_a=N\exp(i\operatorname{Ad}(a)\Lambda)$. We define a class of $N$-invariant weight functions ${\bf w}_\lambda$ on the tube $\mathcal{T}$, rescale them for every $a\in A$ to a weight ${\bf w}_{\lambda, a}$ on $\mathcal{T}_a$, and show that each $\phi_a$ lies in the $L^2$-weighted Bergman space $\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{T}_a, {\bf w}_{\lambda, a}):=\mathcal{O}(\mathcal{T}_a)\cap L^2(\mathcal{T}_a, {\bf w}_{\lambda, a})$. The main result of the article then describes $\mathcal{P}_\lambda(L^2(N))$ as those eigenfunctions $\phi$ for which $\phi_a\in \mathcal{B}(\mathcal{T}_a, {\bf w}_{\lambda, a})$ and $$\|\phi\|:=\sup_{a\in A} a^{\operatorname{Re}\lambda -2\rho} \|\phi_a\|_{\mathcal{B}_{a,\lambda}}<\infty$$ holds.

Abstract:We introduce a nonlinear potential theory problem for the Laplacian, the solution of which characterizes the Berezin density $B(z,\cdot)$ for the polynomial Bergman space, where the point $z\in\mathbb{C}$ is fixed. When $z=\infty$, the Berezin density is expressed in terms of the squared modulus of the corresponding normalized orthogonal polynomial $P$. We use an approximate version of this characterization to study the asymptotics of the orthogonal polynomials in the context of exponentially varying weights. This builds on earlier works by Its-Takhtajan and by the first author on a soft Riemann-Hilbert problem for planar orthogonal polynomials, where in place of the Laplacian we have the $\bar\partial$-operator. We adapt the soft Riemann-Hilbert approach to the nonlinear potential problem, where the nonlinearity is due to the appearance of $|P|^2$ in place of $\overline{P}$. Moreover, we suggest how to adapt the potential theory method to the study of the asymptotics of more general Berezin densities $B(z,w)$ in the off-spectral regime, that is, when $z$ is fixed outside the droplet. This is a first installment in a program to obtain an explicit global expansion formula for the polynomial Bergman kernel, and, in particular, of the one-point function of the associated random normal matrix ensemble.
