Thin-Type Ultrasonic Motor and the Excitation of Stator Vibration Mode

Abstract:The mechanism of thin-type ultrasonic motor, and the relation between the disposing of piezoelectric annular plate and exiting signals are analyzed, and the excitation of the stator vibration mode is discussed. A new thin-type ultrasonic motor is designed, the rotor is installed inside ring stator to reduce the thickness of the motor and double piezoelectric plates structure is adopted in the stator to avoid exciting nonaxisymmetric-mode. The experimental results confirm the flexibility of the design.
