STEADY STATE STUDY OF ±50 Mvar STATCOM WITH CHAIN-CIRCUIT TOPOLOGY

Abstract:This paper presents the operation principle of ±50 Mvar STATCOM with chain-circuit topology based on equipment design, establishes mathematical models by taking into account of several kinds of equipment losses. The model can interpret several nonlinear phenomena of the STATCOM. By using PSCAD digital simulation software, ±50 Mvar STATCOM is simulated under steady state conditions. The result shows that the proposed conclusion is right.
