Abstract:Bearing in mind Bai Juyi's epithet 'the Vessel should assume the shape of the material',the designers have attempted to incorporate the reliance on natural means exemplified in the literati's garden building into the craftsmanship of architectural design.The design of Red Brick Art Museum has been shot through with Bai Juyi's two requirements for the craftsman,'Follow rather than alter the object's nature' and 'Twice the yield,half the work'.Sometimes the designers have relied on the existing hall,which is the precondition of the art museum's renovation. Sometimes they have created advantageous opportunities,which drove the efforts to change the interior space of the art museum,including the covering of the upper space and the digging of the lower.If neither achieved its desired effect,then the architect hopes that the overlapping of multiple images of settings would achieve 'twice the yield' with 'half the work'.

Abstract:This article introduces design of Anhui Paleontology Fossil Museum. The project takes "ancient", "explore" as the main subject of the scheme, and tries to create "discovery space" in the museum. It takes "biological evolution" as the obvious clues, and "journey of discovery" as the hidden clues. Visitors get knowledge when they taking the visit, and understand the relationship of human civilization and nature. The museum space inspires desire of exploration, and thirst for knowledge. Under the guide of space, visitors keep the passion of discovery, and get an amused experience.

Abstract:The two museums, both are centers for contemporary ceramic art, designed in 2004 and 2006 respectively by LIU Ke-cheng in Fuping near the City of Xi'an, are two works of distinction.The architect was free enough to utilize some techniques peculiar to the region to impart a sort of Brutalist flavor to the main building of the museum, making it fairly distinctive from the other two museums LIU had made before.This reminds people of how Brutalism as an architectural school has originated and developed in the modern time, while at the same time arouses the question of what is the psoition of architectural design in contemporary China.

Abstract:Abstract The new Chinese style in interior design is a kind of interior design style that inherits the traditional Chinese culture and interprets the traditional modernization. Abstract:Based on the flow theory, this paper takes Rongshui Miao Eco-museum as an example to discGuided by ancient site culture, carry out the innovative design practices of public facilities in the site park.Starting from the particularity of the site park and the need for regional cultural inheritance, this study investigates the current situation of public facilities in the Jibo City Site Park, discusses the application value and transformation methods of ancient site culture in public facility design, and completes corresponding design practices.As witnesses of historical and cultural heritage, the public facilities of the site park should be based on the site culture, and on the basis of in-depth decomposition of cultural elements, with the help of visual expression, image extraction, symbolic metaphor and other artistic means, achieve a high degree of integration between site culture and design forms, create a facility system that conforms to the special cultural atmosphere of the site park, and enhance the artistic and cultural value of public facilities in the site scenic area,promote and disseminate excellent traditional Chinese culture, and promote the high-quality development and construction of heritage parks.

Abstract:As human skills of creating and crafting improved rapidly, human and material civilization has developed, thus the man-made objects become the record of the development of human capacity of creating. The museum is an institution that demonstrates such a process. We propose the concept of a novel personal museum in this paper. Different from a traditional museum, a personal museum not only shows personal belongings but also combines personal experiences and emotions with the objects. Apart from time dimension of life, other dimensions of life will be kept in the personal museum forever, thus each person will feel his or her existence and value in the world through this personal museum. The paper contains introduction, methodology, design and insights from user study under this research topic.
