Abstract:: With the great attention of the state, after years of efforts from all walks of life, the art of shared public space has been developed rapidly. Now, China is ushering in a huge and constructive upgrading market, and a good era of traditional creativity-driven development has come. Han portrait stone has a rich and characteristic use in the traditional ancient Chinese architectural materials, In the Han Dynasty, it was especially used as the decoration of the tomb, with knives instead of pen, and created many exquisite images. The tomb art of the portrait stone of the Han Dynasty is composed of narrative, using the concept of myths and legends, astronomical stars and life scenes to form the concept of "elephant life", It became a popular portrait stone image of the Han Dynasty. In this unique form, it builds a warm and ideal simple space for the deceased, so as to achieve the aesthetic survival of "beautiful tombs, beautiful ghosts and gods". With the reasonable application of northern Anhui Han portrait stone image art in all kinds of urban public space decoration, according to the main research direction of the current urban shared public space design, It points out the significance of Huaibei Han portrait stone in the artistic creation of public space.

Abstract:For thousands of years, Lanzhou city has long history and bright culture, and has numerous historic buildings and cultural relics. But with the rapid development of the city, many cultural heritages had been destroyed. The cities appearance are becoming more and more similar, urban culture roots has not clear, the city began to become unfamiliar. The reason is the local residents have a lack of cultural identity to living environment. City square, as a major public urban space. By a sense of spiritual civilization, it should be a window of the city and essential building space to daily life of local residents; it also bears an important responsibility which is heritage city in cultural context. Based on the Yellow River in Lanzhou City, and the study of the new square design concept, analyzed and summarized, presented the concept of square design to create a historical and cultural context of urban culture, the importance of heritage and modern artistic expression should be united with urban history and culture diversity, to make people re-establish the cultural identity for the city to gain ownership in their spirit.

Abstract:Garden art has always held a significant place in traditional Chinese culture. During the Song Dynasty, literati, with their unique aesthetic perspectives and creative methods, produced a wide range of garden designs, creating a high level of aesthetic value. Literati excursions served as a vital means of promoting cultural prosperity and artistic creation. Excursions, as a form of social gathering among Northern Song literati, emerged as a defining activity of the era. This paper aims to delve into the incorporation of painting and narrative into garden design and garden exploration by studying the literature and images associated with Song Dynasty literati excursions. Using Jin Y Garden as a case study, the paper discusses the corresponding architectural design approaches and their applicability in contemporary garden architecture practice. It explores a garden design methodology imbued with cultural and artistic value.

Abstract:In the interiors of ancient Huizhou buildings in China, a profusion of wood carvings are employed for decoration, with traditional research interpreting their function from decorative and aesthetic perspectives. However, this research suggests that the role of Huizhou wood carvings in interior spaces surpasses mere decoration; they enhance the expression and experience of spatial concepts through narrative imagery. By analyzing the mechanism and intrinsic logic behind the spatial concepts formed in Huizhou residential buildings, this study investigates how wood-carving imagery contributes to shaping spatial concepts through narrative techniques, as well as their creativity and expressiveness in architectural design. Utilizing literature reviews, field surveys for case selection, and case analysis methods combined with observation, interviews, and measurements, this research ultimately employs image analysis to interpret the narrative structures and styles of wood-carving imagery in detail. This study reveals that (1) the spatial concepts of Huizhou residential buildings are influenced by traditional thought, social culture, and other factors, leading to an interweaving of material, cultural, and social spaces that results in a spatial concept characterized by harmony between heaven and humanity, clear hierarchy, and orderliness; (2) Huizhou wood-carvings, through their narrative images, actively engage in the production of spatial concepts, employing thematic juxtaposition narrative modes and utilizing singular-scene narration, composite-scene narration, and cyclical narration to articulate these concepts. These findings significantly deepen our comprehension of the relationship between the spatial concepts of Huizhou's traditional residential architecture and social culture. By integrating cultural elements with spatial production theory, this research addresses the limitations of existing studies and augments their theoretical interpretative power. Additionally, clarifying the connection between the cultural elements of wood-carving imagery and the formation of spatial concepts offers a novel perspective on the study of Huizhou wood carvings, moving beyond their longstanding categorization as purely decorative elements.

Huizhou carving,with strong folk characteristics,is an important part of Huizhou building style which thrived in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Artistically,Huizhou carving focuses on screen tension, full composition,abstract images,and gracefulness,manifesting healthy vitality and representing the yearning of Huizhou people for a better life.

Abstract:Through the analysis of developments and the existed problems of exhibition design in Changsha which is the capital city of Hunan Province, it is concluded that the regional culture of Huxiang has a great infl uence on the design. From the perspective of design, the paper points out that the regional culture should be inherited and extended in development of Hunan exhibitions, suggesting that the local cultural elements should be learnt from and reconstruct, thus leads the exhibition industry of Hunan to sustainable development and volume growing and builds Hunan Province the Capital of Exhibitions in the middle area of China.

Abstract:Along with the acceleration of Chinese urbanization, urban history degrades at a rapid rate, and development follows formalism. Based on architectural typology, this study introduces a methodology of concept mapping and discusses the urban complex design method from a perspective of regional cultural elements. The theoretical analysis shows that concept mapping represents an integrated solution that incorporates regional cultural elements into architectural planning. Through the concept mapping method, it not only protects the physical environment, but also strengthens modern urban residents' psychological sense of belonging to their own living space. Meanwhile, distinct regional cultural elements can be efficiently combined in the overall layout, monomer building design, building details design, and landscape design of urban complex by using different architectural design methods. This design method is validated using an actual case in Guizhou. Therefore, it forms a complete set of design method with a three-step framework, namely positioning cultural areas, summarizing regional cultural elements, and selecting the mapping method and combination mode.
