Abstract:In the title molecule, C18H11Cl3N2O2, the central benzene ring is oriented at 8.44 (12) and 70.57 (11)degrees with respect to the terminal chlorophenol and dichloropyridine rings, respectively. The molecular structure is stabilized by an intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, pi-pi stacking between parallel pyridine rings is observed [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6561 (14) angstrom].

The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 2.17 (9) angstrom. In the crystal, molecules are linked via O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds into chains that propagate along the b-axis direction. Abstract:The title compound, C(10)H(11)I(2)NO, was prepared by the reaction of 3,5-diiodo-salicyl-aldehyde with propyl-amine in ethanol. The mol-ecule adopts an E conformation with respect to the C=N bond and the aromatic ring. The aromatic ring and the imino unit are close to being coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 2.6 (3)° between their planes. This planarity is assisted by the formation of an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

An intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond involving an amine H atom and the adjacent carbonyl O atom occurs. Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C15H14N4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction between 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and propiophenone. The compound crystallizes in an E configuration. Within the dinitrophenyl ring the distances [average 1.417 (4) Angstrom] of C-C bonds ipso to the amino group are significantly longer than the average distance of 1.375 (4) Angstrom for the other C-C bonds in the same phenyl ring. The van der Waals contact between the methyl and nitro groups from neighboring molecules results in the deviation of the ethyl group from the phenyl plane of the propiophenone group.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C(13)H(10)N(4)O(4), were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The molecule assumes an approximately planar E configuration. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the average distance for the aromatic C-C bonds close to the imino group [1.417 (3) A] is appreciably longer than the average distance for the other aromatic C-C bonds in the same phenyl ring [1.373 (3) A]. This increased distance may be a result of the overlap of the non-bonding orbital of the imino N atom with the pi orbitals of the arene. It is likely that pi-pi stacking exists in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(13)H(8)ClI(2)NO, contains half of the mol-ecule situated on a mirror plane. The hy-droxy group is involved in the formation of an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. π-π inter-actions between the benzene rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.629 (3) Å] form stacks along the b axis. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are observed.
