Abstract:The title compound, C12H9N2+center dot C7H4ClO3-center dot C12H8N2 center dot-C7H5ClO3, contains one phenanthrolinium (Hphen) cation, one phenanthroline (phen) molecule, one 4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoate anion (hcba) and one 4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoic acid (Hhcba) molecule in the asymmetric unit. The phen molecule is approximately parallel to Hphen, making a dihedral angle of 1.98 (6)degrees. The centroid-centroid distance between pyridine rings of adjacent phen and Hphen species is 3.7718 (15) angstrom, and that between the benzene and pyridine rings of adjacent phen and Hphen species is 3.7922 (16) angstrom, indicative of pi-pi stacking interactions. The crystal structure contains an extensive network of classical (O-H center dot center dot center dot O, N-H center dot center dot center dot N and O-H center dot center dot center dot Cl) and weak (C-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot N) hydrogen bonds. Finally, C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions are seen between Hphen and hcba and between phen and Hhcba in the crystal structure. The hydroxy group of the anion is disordered over the two sites ortho to the carboxylate group in a 0.75: 0.25 ratio.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(29)H(27)N(3)O(5), a dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine derivative, the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation, the oxazepine seven-membered ring has a twist-boat conformation, and the piperidin-2-one ring assumes a flattened boat conformation. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between imino and nitro groups links two mol-ecules into a centrosymmetric dimer.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(23)H(12)O(4), contains two nearly parallel independent mol-ecules; the dihedral angles between the phenanthrene ring systems of the two mol-ecules and between the benzene rings of the two mol-ecules are 4.97 (9) and 8.1 (2)°, respectively. In each mol-ecule, the benzene ring is nearly perpendicular to the phenanthrene ring system, with dihedral angles of 86.42 (19) and 86.68 (18)°. π-π stacking exists between the phenanthrene ring systems of the two independent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.698 (2) Å]. Short intermolec-ular contacts [O⋯O = 2.86 (2) and C⋯O = 2.88 (2) Å] are also present in the crystal structure.

Each molecule contains two six-membered rings and one five-membered ring. The five-membered ring displays an envelope conformation with the C atom linking the epoxy group as the flap, while the two six-membered rings show half-chair conformations. The two independent molecules are linked by an O—H...O hydrogen bond. These dimers are further linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming supramolecular chains running along the a axis.

Abstract:In the title compound, C12H9NOS, the sulfoxide O atom is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.907 (4) and 0.093 (4). The dihedral angle betweeen the two aromatic rings is 18.40 (14)degrees. Different types of supramolecular interactions including intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds and pi-pi contacts [centroid-centroid distances = 3.9096 (16) and 4.1423 (16) angstrom] between the aromatic rings of symmetry-related molecules are observed in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(21)H(16)O(2), the six crystallographically independent mol-ecules (Z' = 6) all exist in the enolized form. Strong intra-molecular hydrogen bonds are observed: one approximate H-atom-centered O⋯H⋯O hydrogen bond, two tautomeric forms O-H⋯O (three mol-ecules) and O⋯H-O (two mol-ecules). Only one weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond between two neighboring mol-ecules is observed in the crystal structure. In addition, eight very weak non-conventional inter-molecular C-H⋯π hydrogen-bonding contacts between mol-ecules are observed.

In one mol-ecule, the tetra-zole ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 17.71 (16) and 57.13 (17)°, respectively, to the central benzene ring and the terminal benzene ring; in the other mol-ecule, the corresponding dihedral angles are 16.46 (18) and 75.87 (18)°. Abstract:In the title compound, C(17)H(15)N(3)OS, the phenothia-zine ring system is slightly bent, with a dihedral angle of 13.68 (7)° between the benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the oxadiazole ring and the adjacent benzene ring is 7.72 (7)°. In the crystal, a π-π inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.752 (2) Å is observed between the benzene rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.
