Abstract:The title compound, C(13)H(8)BrI(2)NO, was prepared by the reaction of 3,5-diiodo-salicyl-aldehyde with 4-bromo-phenyl-amine in ethanol. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond in the mol-ecule, which generates an S(6) ring. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 2.6 (3)°.

Abstract:The title compound, C(10)H(11)I(2)NO, was prepared by the reaction of 3,5-diiodo-salicyl-aldehyde with propyl-amine in ethanol. The mol-ecule adopts an E conformation with respect to the C=N bond and the aromatic ring. The aromatic ring and the imino unit are close to being coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 2.6 (3)° between their planes. This planarity is assisted by the formation of an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(13)H(8)ClI(2)NO, contains half of the mol-ecule situated on a mirror plane. The hy-droxy group is involved in the formation of an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. π-π inter-actions between the benzene rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.629 (3) Å] form stacks along the b axis. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are observed.

The molecule exhibits a planar structure, with the 4-nitro group slightly inclined to the plane. The molecules link to each other via intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the imino and nitro groups.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C15H13ClN4O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-chloro-3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Within the dinitrophenyl group, the distances of 1.413 (3) and 1.405 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.372 (4) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The benzene rings in the molecule are nearly coplanar, and the overlapped arrangement of benzene rings of neighboring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C(13)H(10)N(4)O(4), were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The molecule assumes an approximately planar E configuration. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the average distance for the aromatic C-C bonds close to the imino group [1.417 (3) A] is appreciably longer than the average distance for the other aromatic C-C bonds in the same phenyl ring [1.373 (3) A]. This increased distance may be a result of the overlap of the non-bonding orbital of the imino N atom with the pi orbitals of the arene. It is likely that pi-pi stacking exists in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title molecule, C18H11Cl3N2O2, the central benzene ring is oriented at 8.44 (12) and 70.57 (11)degrees with respect to the terminal chlorophenol and dichloropyridine rings, respectively. The molecular structure is stabilized by an intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, pi-pi stacking between parallel pyridine rings is observed [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6561 (14) angstrom].

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C14H11ClN4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of m-chloroacetophenone and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The two benzene rings of the title molecule have a dihedral angle of 16.17 (6)degrees. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the distances of 1.422 (3) and 1.415 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imine group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.376 (3) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The overlapped arrangement of chlorophenyl rings of neighbouring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

Abstract:The title compound, C19H18BrN3O3, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-methanesulfonyl-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine and N-(2-bromophenyl)-2-hydroxybenzylamine in tetrahydrofuran. There are three different planes in the molecule, each of which is conjugated. The dihedral angles between the pyrimidine plane and the planes of the two phenyl rings are 107.85 (4) and 77.38 (2) degrees, and the dihedral angle between the planes of the two phenyl rings is 103.15(3)degrees.
