Comparison of Breast Imaging Diagnostic Methods in Preoperative Assessment of Breast Lesions

Abstract:Objective: To compare the accuracy of color-doppler ultrasonography,mammography and MR imaging in breast disease.Methods: The diagnostic accuracy of the three methods was analyzed on the basis of post-operation pathological results.Results: Four hundreds sixty five cases(breast cancer 339,benign lesion 126) were examined.Color-doppler ultrasonography,mammography and MR imaging for breast cancer,the sensitivity was respectively 88.3%,85.3% and 92.3%,the specificity was respectively 88.6%,90.4% and 91.7%,the accuracy rates were 88.5%,89.5% and 92.0% respectively.MR imaging was highest in sensitivity,specificity and accuracy.Mammography had the highest specificity in diagnosis of breast cancer(≤2cm),but in younger women(45 age),it had lower sensitivity.US and mammography had higher sensitivity than MR imaging in diagnosis of intraductal papilloma and inflammatory lesion of breast.Conclusion: Color-doppler ultrasonography and mammography and MR imaging are valuable breast imaging diagnostic methods.
