Abstract:We study smooth complex projective varieties X of maximal Albanese dimension and of general type satisfying (chi)(X, O-X) = 0. We prove that the Albanese variety of X has at least three simple factors. Examples were constructed by Ein and Lazarsfeld, and we prove that in dimension 3, these examples are (up to abelian etale covers) the only ones. By results of 'lien, another source of examples is provided by varieties X of maximal Albanese dimension and of general type satisfying h(0) (X, omega(X)) = 1. Examples were constructed by Chen and Hawn, and again, we prove that in dimension 3, these examples are (up to abelian etale covers) the only ones. We also formulate a conjecture on the general structure of these varieties in all dimensions.

Abstract:We classify all $n$-dimensional reduced Cohen-Macaulay modular quotient variety $\mathbb{A}_\mathbb{F}^n/C_{2p}$ and study their singularities, where $p$ is a prime number and $C_{2p}$ denotes the cyclic group of order $2p$. In particular, we present an example that demonstrates that the problem proposed by Yasuda \cite[Problem 6.6]{Yas2015} has a negative answer if the condition that $G$ is a small subgroup was dropped.

Abstract:We classify all smooth projective horospherical varieties with Picard number 1. We prove that the automorphism group of any such variety X acts with at most two orbits and that this group still acts with only two orbits on X blown up at the closed orbit. We characterize all smooth projective two-orbits varieties with Picard number 1 that satisfy this latter property.

Abstract:Let $\Gamma\in \mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ be a finite subgroup. We introduce a class of projective noncommutative surfaces $\mathbb{P}^2_I$, indexed by a set of irreducible $\Gamma$-representations. Extending the action of $\Gamma$ from $\mathbb{C}^2$ to $\mathbb{P}^2$, we show that these surfaces generalise both $[\mathbb{P}^2/\Gamma]$ and $\mathbb{P}^2/\Gamma$. We prove that isomorphism classes of framed torsion-free sheaves on any $\mathbb{P}^2_I$ carry a canonical bijection to the closed points of appropriate Nakajima quiver varieties. In particular, we provide geometric interpretations for a class of Nakajima quiver varieties using noncommutative geometry. Our results partially generalise several previous results on such quiver varieties.

Abstract:To any finite group G in SL_2(C), and each `t' in the center of the group algebra of G, we associate a category, Coh_t. It is defined as a suitable quotient of the category of graded modules over (a graded version of) the deformed preprojective algebra introduced by Crawley-Boevey and Holland. The category Coh_t should be thought of as the category of coherent sheaves on a `noncommutative projective 2-space', equipped with a framing at the line at infinity. Our first result establishes an isomorphism between the moduli space of torsion free objects of Coh_t and the Nakajima quiver variety arising from G via the McKay correspodence. We apply the above isomorphism to deduce generalized Crawley-Boevey & Holland conjecture, saying that the moduli space of `rank 1' projective modules over the deformed preprojective algebra is isomorphic to a particular quiver variety. This reduces, for G=1, to the recently obtained parametrisation of the isomorphism classes of right ideals in the first Weyl algebra, A_1, by points of the Calogero-Moser space, due to Cannings-Holland and Berest-Wilson. Our approach is algebraic and is based on a monadic description of torsion free sheaves on the noncommutative projective 2-space. It is totally different from the one used by Berest-Wilson, involving $\tau$-functions.

Abstract:In this article, we prove that any smooth projective variety $X$ which is a double cover of the projective space $\mathbb{P}^n$ ($n\geq 2$) admits an Ulrich bundle. When $n=2$, we show that on any such $X$, there is an Ulrich bundle of rank two.

Abstract:Let $E$ be the Fermat cubic curve over $\bar{\mathbb{Q}}$. In 2002, Schoen proved that the group $CH^2(E^3)/\ell$ is infinite for all primes $\ell\equiv 1\pmod 3$. We show that $CH^2(E^3)/\ell$ is infinite for all prime numbers $\ell> 5$. This gives the first example of a smooth projective variety $X$ over $\bar{\mathbb{Q}}$ such that $CH^2(X)/\ell$ is infinite for all but at most finitely many primes $\ell$. A key tool is a recent theorem of Farb--Kisin--Wolfson, whose proof uses the prismatic cohomology of Bhatt--Scholze.

Abstract:In our previous paper [31], we show that all primeQ-Fano 3-folds X with only 1/2(1, 1, 1)-singularities in certain 5 classes can be embedded as linear sections into bigger dimensionalQ-Fano varieties called key varieties; each key variety is constructed from data of the Sarkisov link starting from the blow-up at one 1/2(1, 1, 1)-singularity of X . In this paper, we introduce varieties associated with the key varieties which are dual in a certain sense. As an application, we interpret a fundamental part of the Sarkisov link for each X as a linear section of the dual variety. In a natural context describing the variety dual to the key variety of X of genus 5 with one 1/2(1, 1, 1)-singularity, we also characterize a general canonical curve of genus 9 with a g 7 2 .

Abstract:Suppose that X X is a projective manifold whose tangent bundle T X T_X contains a locally free strictly nef subsheaf. We prove that X X is isomorphic to either a projective space or a projective bundle over a hyperbolic manifold of general type. Abstract:A set of multi-homogeneous equations for the Jacobian of a genus two curve is given. The approach used is to write down affine equations for the Jacobian minus various tranlations of the Theta-divisor by [2]-division points, and then to write down affine glue equations for the overlaps. Taking multi-projective completions for all of these then yields a complete multi-projective two-dimensional variety whose points are in one-to-one correspondence with degree zero divisor classes on the curve (i.e. the Picard group). This multi-projective variety then becomes a complete projective two-dimensional variety under the Segre imbedding.
