Abstract:Let $S$ be a minimal surface of general type with $p_g(S) = 0, K_S^2 = 5$ and bicanonical map of degree 4. Denote by $\Sigma$ the bicanonical image. If $\Sigma$ is smooth, then $S$ is a Burniat surface; and if $\Sigma$ is singular, then we reduced $\Sigma$ to one case and described it, furthermore $S$ has at most one $(-2)$-curve.

Abstract:In terms of the almost complex connection and the unitary moving frame, a complex version on the theory of the nearly Kahler structure in S-6 is given. Under this framework, minimal surfaces in the nearly Kahler S-6 are studied. A complete classification for complete minimal surfaces in S-6 With constant Kahler angle and nonnegative curvature is given. Moreover, almost complex curves in S-6 are considered.

Abstract:In this work we present new results to produce an algorithm that returns, for any fixed pair of natural integers $K^2$ and $\chi$, all regular surfaces $S$ of general type with self-intersection $K_S^2=K^2$ and Euler characteristic $\chi(\mathcal O_S)=\chi$, that are product-quotient surfaces. The key result we obtain is an algebraic characterization of all families of regular product-quotients surfaces, up to isomorphism, arising from a pair of $G$-coverings of $\mathbb P^1$. As a consequence of our work, we provide a classification of all regular product-quotient surfaces of general type with $23\leq K^2\leq 32$ and $\chi(\mathcal O_S)=4$. Furthermore, we study their canonical map and present several new examples of surfaces of general type with a high degree of the canonical map.

Abstract:The compactification $\overline M_{1,3}$ of the Gieseker moduli space of surfaces of general type with $K_X^2 =1 $ and $\chi(X)=3$ in the moduli space of stable surfaces parametrises so-called stable I-surfaces. We classify all such surfaces which are 2-Gorenstein into four types using a mix of algebraic and geometric techniques. We find a new divisor in the closure of the Gieseker component and a new irreducible component of the moduli space.

Abstract:Let $S$ be a minimal compact complex surface with Betti numbers $b_1(S)=1$ and $b_2(S)\ge 1$ i.e. a compact surface in class VII$_0^+$. We show that if there exists a twisted logarithmic 1-form $\tau\in H^0(S,\Omega^1(\log D)\otimes \mathcal L_\lambda)$, where $D$ is a non zero divisor and $\mathcal L\in H^1(S,\mathbb C^\star)$, then $S$ is a Kato surface. It is known that $\lambda$ is in fact real and we show that $\lambda\ge 1$ and unique if $S$ is not a Inoue-Hirzebruch surface. Moreover $\lambda=1$ if and only if $S$ is a Enoki surface. When $\lambda>1$ these conditions are equivalent to the existence of a negative PSH function $\hat \tau$ on the cyclic covering $p:\hat S\to S$ of $S$ which is PH outside $\hat D:=p^{-1}(D)$ with automorphy constant being the same automorphy constant $\lambda$ for a suitable automorphism of $\hat S$. With previous results obtained with V.Apostolov it suggests a strategy to prove the GSS conjecture.

Abstract:In this paper, we classify the minimal surfaces of general type with $\chi=5$, $K^{2}=9$ whose canonical map is composed with an involution. We obtain 6 families, whose dimensions in the moduli space are 28, 27, 33, 32, 31 and 32 respectively. Among them, the family of surfaces having a genus 2 fibration forms an irreducible component of $\mathfrak{M}_{\chi=5, K^{2}=9}$.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the minimal and the next minimal volumes of normal KSBA stable surfaces with $p_g\ge 2$. We show that in case of $|K_X|$ not composed with a pencil, the minimal and next minimal volumes are $2p_g-4$ and $2p_g-4+\frac{1}{3}$. In case of $|K_X|$ composed with a pencil, the minimal and next minimal volumes are $\frac{p_g-1}{p_g+1}(p_g-1)$ and $\mathrm{min}\{\frac{2p_g-2}{2p_g+1}(p_g-1), \frac{(3p_g-2)p_g-4}{3(p_g+2)}\}$. We also characterize the surfaces achieving the minimal volumes.

Abstract:In this work we classify all smooth surfaces with geometric genus equal to three and an action of a group G isomorphic to (Z/2)^k such that the quotient is a plane. We find 11 families. We compute the canonical map of all of them, finding in particular a family of surfaces with canonical map of degree 16 that we could not find in the literature. We discuss the quotients by all subgroups of G finding several K3 surfaces with symplectic involutions. In particular we show that six families are families of triple K3 burgers in the sense of Laterveer.

Abstract:Let $S$ be a surface isogenous to a product of curves of unmixed type. After presenting several results useful to study the cohomology of $S$ we prove a structure theorem for the cohomology of regular surfaces isogenous to a product of unmixed type with $\chi (\mathcal{O}_S)=2$. In particular we found two families of surfaces of general type with maximal Picard number.

Abstract:We show that the Satake-Baily-Borel compactification of the moduli space of lattice polarized K3 surfaces parametrizing K3 surfaces of degree 2 with four rational double points of type $D_4$ is the projective 3-space. We also show that the corresponding graded ring of automorphic forms is generated by four elements of weight 2 and one element of weight 11 with one relation of weight 22.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a compact connected Riemann surface of genus $g \geq 3$ and $S \rightarrow X$ a $2:1$ branched covering defined by a generic quadratic differential on $X$. In the following notes, we explore how taking direct images of line bundles defined by certain distinguished special divisors on $S$ gives rank-2 bundles having nilpotent Higgs fields on $X$. The key ingredient is the notion of Baker-Akhiezer divisors associated to Higgs bundles and choices of subbundles of the underlying rank-2 bundles.

Abstract:Given a general polarized $K3$ surface $S\subset \mathbb P^g$ of genus $g\le 14$, we study projections $S\hookrightarrow \mathbb P^g\dashrightarrow \mathbb P^2$ of minimal degree and their variational structure. In particular, we prove that the degree of irrationality of all such surfaces is at most $4$, and that for $g=7,8,9,11$ there are no rational maps $S\dashrightarrow \mathbb P^2$ of degree $3$ induced by the primitive linear system. Our methods combine vector bundle techniques à la Lazarsfeld with derived category tools, and also make use of the rich theory of singular curves on $K3$ surfaces.

Abstract:We prove that any hyper-Kähler sixfold of generalized Kummer type has a naturally associated manifold of type. It is obtained as crepant resolution of the quotient of by a group of symplectic involutions acting trivially on its second cohomology. When is projective, the variety is birational to a moduli space of stable sheaves on a uniquely determined projective surface . As an application of this construction we show that the Kuga–Satake correspondence is algebraic for the K3 surfaces , producing infinitely many new families of surfaces of general Picard rank satisfying the Kuga–Satake Hodge conjecture.
