Brief Discussions on the Exploration and Utilization of Local Records

Abstract:To carry out the exploration and utilization of the cultural resources of local records better and deeper, and to develop in a healthy and orderly way, we must constantly improve our understanding on the function, value, and significance of local records.In summary, it is to serve for "five constructions":for political construction, for economic construction, for cultural construction, for social construction, and for ecological construction. Since the start of newly compiled local records work 30 years ago, the exploration and utilization of local records have made tremendous achievements.We have compiled and published local records reference materials by category, published a range of local information series, succeeded in local information network construction, and carried out academic research with the help of local records. We should collect local records documentation and materials more extensively;have well-compiled reference books such as local records indexes and local records reference materials by category;further improve the sorting-out work of old local records;have well-compiled local records with distinctive features;strengthen the construction of local records network;quicken the strategic pace of local records and yearbook integration;and safeguard the quality of second-round local records.
