Abstract:The sorts and technical characters of the supercritical strait boiler are introduced. Abstract:The type and design principles of supercritical pressure once - through boiler are described in this paper. The cold start of supercritical pressure once- through boiler equipped with atmosphere flush tabs start - up system located in Shidongkou Second Power Plant is simulated with program SP and the results are satisfactory. In the end, the program OTBSP is ed to simulate the cold and hot start of supercritical pressure once - throughboiler equipped with recirculation pump start - up system which is designed by Harbin Boiler Works, The results provide a basis for the design andoperation of the start - up system.

Abstract:To summarize the technical features of supercritical CFB (circulating fluidized bed) boilers,analyzed were the parameter selection for supercritical boilers and the reasons why CFB boilers are more suitable than pulverized coal boilers for adopting supercritical parameters.The status quo of the study on supercritical CFB boilers both at home and abroad was described in detail.An analysis and comparison of the versions of a supercritical 600 MW CFB boiler for Baima Project proposed by three domestic boiler manufacturers shows that there exists no overriding technical barrier in the design of a supercritical CFB boiler.Moreover,the supercritical CFB combustion technology will become an important clean coal-based power generation technology for coal-fired power plants in China.However,with the in-depth development of research on supercritical CFB boilers,some relevant problems still merit further study and investigation.

Abstract:The supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler, which combines the advantages of CFB combustion with low cost emission control and supercritical steam cycle with high efficiency of coal energy, is believed to be the future of CFB combustion technology. It is also of greatest importance for low rank coal utilization in China. Different from the supercritical pulverized coal boiler that has been developed more than 50 years, the supercritical CFB boiler is still a new one which requires further investigation. Without any precedentor engineering reference, Chinese researchers have conducted fundamental research, development, design of the supercritical CFB boilers independently. The design theory and key technology for supercritical CFB boiler were proposed. Key components and novel structures were invented. The first 600 MWe supercritical CFB boiler and its auxiliaries were successfully developed and demonstrated in Baima Power Plant, Shenhua Group as well as the simulator, control technology, installation technology, commissioning technology, system integration and operation technology. Compared with the 460 MWe supercritical CFB in Poland, developed in the same period and the only other supercritical one of commercial running in the word beside Baima, the 600 MWe one in Baima has a better performance. Besides, supercritical CFB boilers of 350 MWe have been developed and widely commercialized in China. In this paper, the updated progress of 660 MWe ultra-supercritical CFB boilers under development is introduced.

Abstract:A mathematical model is set up for calculating the water swell in a supercritical pressure once through boiler during its start up.The model has been verified through tests and was used to calculate the water swell during a cold state and hot state start up process in a 600 MW supercritical pressure once through boiler designed and developed by Harbin Boiler Works.All the above has provided a basis for the design of boiler start up systems and the drawing up of start up curves.

Abstract:To develop supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is objective of international CFB circles because supercritical CFB boiler combines the advantages of CFB combustion of low cost emission control and supercritical steam cycle of high efficiency of power generation.It is also most important for low rank coal utility.With the support of High Technology R&D Program (863) and Key Project of the National Research Program of China,Chinese researchers investigated systematically the issuers of supercritical CFB boiler development.And the huge theoretical and engineering challenges from 300MW subcritical natural circulation leaping to 600 MW supercritical once through are comprehensively broken.And the first 600MW supercritical CFB boiler and its auxiliaries were successfully developed and demonstrated in Baima Power Plant,Shenhua.Then the investigation results have been successfully expanded into 350MW supercritical CFB boilers design and have been commercialized widely.These studies provide the basis for the development of ultra-supercritical CFB boiler.Now,the key technologies such as heat deviation,ultra-low emission,and low electric power consumption are being investigated.And some preliminary achievements has been made.

Abstract:According to the increasing demand of energy and environmental requirements, the ultra-supercritical (USC) power plants, with the priority of the high power generation efficiency, reliability, fuel saving, low pollutants emission and advanced technology, have got rapid development in China. In this paper the development history and the state art of the USC power plants were introduced, including the technology transfer, the investment market and R&D programs supported by the government. The investigation shows the necessity and feasibility for the development of the USC units in China. Through the comparisons of the different types pulverized coal-fired power generation plants, the main characteristics of USC power unit were presented. Also the effects of the choice of steam parameters, the type of the boiler and gas turbine and the advanced materials on the operation of the USC units with the high efficiency and under the safety were analyzed. Through the investigation of the design, manufacture facilities, construction and running process of the USC units, the exiting key problems were discussed, together with some helpful suggestion and prospect on the development of the technology route.

Abstract:Steam separator is the most important thick﹣wall pressure element in ultra﹣supercritical utility boilers.Quantitative analysis on steam separators in various operating conditions has great significance in safe and optimized operation of thermal power units.Numerical simulation on stress field and temperature field of the steam separator of a 1 000 MW ultra﹣supercritical boiler during cold state start was performed. On this basis,the law of thermal stress,mechanical stress and the total stress was investigated.Then,the elastic analysis based creep﹣fatigue evaluation algorithm was adopted to calculate the service life damage of the separator during coal state start.The results show that,during cold state startup,thermal stress of the separator increases first and then decreases,while the mechanical stress increases gradually and eventually replaces the thermal stress as the major factor affecting the value of the total stress.The stress concentrated largely in intersection line zone of the induced tube and cylinder of the separator,indicating this separator has large safety margin.

Abstract:While the power plant units are the developing towards larger capacity, the relative shortage in thermal efficiency of the circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler unit, which has obtained significant development in recent years, is becoming more and more apparent. However, the thermal efficiency computational model applied for different CFB boiler units are not derived yet. Based on Generalized Energy Efficiency Distribution Matrix (GEEDM) model which is designed for normal pulverized coal boiler units, this paper innovatively built a computational model of cycle efficiency for CFB boiler units. Moreover, the mathematical influences of main local influencing factors like terminal difference, extraction steam pressure loss, heat loss, drained water cooling insufficient, steam desuperheater, shaft seal leakage of steam turbine and connection schemes of ash cooler to this model were further proposed to strengthen its industrial applications. In the meanwhile, the detailed thermodynamic analysis of a 660 MW ultra supercritical unit in China was studied to provide some optimized design and operation suggestions. Particularly, for this unit, an optimized connection scheme of the ash cooler, a core component in the CFB boiler to reclaim physical heat in the bottom ash, was selected from 20 different connection schemes. Abstract:Supercritical-pressure light water-cooled reactors (SCWR) are the only water cooled reactor types in Generation IV nuclear energy systems. Startup systems, and their associated startup characteristic analyses, are important components of the SCWR design. To analyze the entire startup system, we propose a wall heat transfer model in a paper, based on the results from a supercritical transient analysis code named SCTRAN developed by Xi'an Jiao tong University. In this work, we propose a new heat transfer mode selection process. Additionally, the most appropriate heat transfer coefficient selection method is chosen from existing state-of-the-art methods. Within the model development section of the work, we solve the problem of discontinuous heat transfer coefficients in the logic transformation step. When the pressure is greater than 19 Mpa, a look-up table method is used to obtain the heat transfer coefficients with the best prediction accuracy across the critical region. Then, we describe a control strategy for the startup process that includes a description of the control objects for coolant flow rate, heat-exchange outlet temperature, system pressure, core thermal power, steam drum water-level and the once-through direct cycle loop inlet temperature. Different control schemes are set-up according to different control objectives of the startup phases. Based on CSR1000 reactor, an analytical model, which includes a circulation loop and once-through direct cycle loop is established, and four startup processes, with control systems, are proposed. The calculation results show that the thermal parameters of the circulation loop and the once-through direct cycle meets all expectations. The maximum cladding surface temperature remains below the limit temperature of 650 degrees C. The feasibility of the startup scheme and the security of the startup process are verified.

Abstract:To investigate the startup characteristics of the supercritical pressure water-cooled reactor (SCWR) system, a complete startup system model of the SCWR was established with the analysis code SCTRAN, based on the high-performance light water reactor (HPLWR) steam cycle and SCWR circulation startup loop. The correctness of the model was verified in comparison with the steady-state parameters of the steam cycle of the HPLWR. A sliding pressure startup procedure with a circulation loop that employs a control system was analyzed, and the transient performances of the core, steam drum, turbine, reheaters, steam extraction and heaters at each stage were obtained. The calculation results showed that the startup sequence and startup thermal parameters could fully meet the expectations: the system starts up stably and the core remains in the single phase; the inlet steam of the turbine stays superheated; the core inlet temperature can reach 280 degrees C after the adoption of the high-pressure and low-pressure heaters; and the inlet pressure of the high-pressure turbine can be kept constant. During the startup process, the maximum cladding surface temperature (MCST) remains below the limit of 650 degrees C, suggesting that the entire startup procedure is safe and reliable.

Abstract:Ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler combustion technology has the advantages of environmental protection and good commercialization. As one of the key aspects in ultra-supercritical CFB combustion technology, the water wall system directly determines whether the CFB boiler can safely and effectively transform heat energy. This paper studies the thermal–hydraulic characteristics of the designed water wall system of a 700 MWe ultra-supercritical CFB boiler, the largest one that will be built next year. At four loads of the water wall system, hydrodynamic parameters are calculated based on the successfully verified mathematical models. The results show that the hydrodynamic characteristics of the system are good. The temperature distribution of the working fluid and metal of the water wall system is acceptable and safe at each load, which can support the technical development and improvement of the 700 MWe ultra-supercritical CFB boiler.

Abstract:In this paper, the preliminary sliding pressure start-up system and scheme of supercritical water-cooled reactor in CGNPC (CGN-SCWR) were proposed. Thermal-hydraulic behavior in start-up procedures was analyzed in detail by employing advanced reactor subchannel analysis software ATHAS. The maximum cladding temperature (MCT for short) and core power of fuel assembly during the whole start-up process were investigated comparatively. The results show that the recommended start-up scheme meets the design requirements from the perspective of thermal-hydraulic.

Abstract:The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) combustion technology and ultra (ultra) critical coal-fired power generation technology are relatively mature,the combination of which has the advantages of low cost pollution control and high efficiency power supply.The development of supercritical (ultra supercritical) parameters will certainly become an important direction for the further development of CFB Technology.In order to improve the performance of operation control,the dynamic process of heat release at boiler side was analyzed on the level of coordinated control system of supercritical CFB unit,and the dynamic process at the steam water side of the direct current boiler which has the characteristics of faster response and complex phase change was simplified and refined.Then the nonlinear control model of supercritical CFB unit was established,and the parameters of the system model were identified by steady-state derivation,function fitting and genetic algorithm optimization.Finally,the Baima 600MW supercritical CFB unit in Sichuan province were taken as an actual validation object,and the correctness of the model structure and the validity of the identification method are verified.

Abstract:The design principle of a 660 MW high efficiency ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler was discussed,while its main performance parameters were predicted.The boiler adopts two parallel furnaces,and each furnace has an independent air supply system.External heat exchangers are used in the scheme,while panel superheaters and panel reheaters are arranged in the upper furnace.To reduce the deviation of steam temperature caused by incomplete symmetry of both the temperature and mass flow of flue gas and bed material in the two independent loops,the air supply rate,coal feeding rate and bottom ash discharging rate are controlled,steam mixture headers are used,while the flow direction of inlet flue gas in the backpass is changed.Results show that the design scheme with double furnaces can well solve the problem of temperature deviation,and ensure the positive flow characteristics in waterwalls even at low mass flux.Additionally,the auxilary power comsuption can also be reduced due to lower water pump head.
