Abstract:Influences of technical parameters on preparing the semi-solid slurries of 3A21 alloy are investigated by the orthogonal test using the strain induced melt activation(SIMA) process under the experimental condition.The results show that the main factor for grain to refine is the holding time,that the main factor in obtaining globular grains is the thermal deformation,and that the best technical parameters are as follows: the thermal deformation 60%,the cold deformation 15%,the heat holding temperature 661℃ and the heat holding time 16 min.
