Abstract: In this paper, a characteristic condition of the projectively flat Kropina metric is given. By it, we prove that a Kropina metric $F=\alpha^2/\beta$ with constant curvature $K$ and $\|\beta\|_{\alpha}=1$ is projectively flat if and only if $F$ is locally Minkowskian.

Abstract:In this paper, we find equations to characterize projective change between (α,β)-metric F=(α+β)2α and Randers metric F¯=α¯+β¯ on a manifold with dimension n⩾3, where α and α¯ are two Riemannian metrics, β and β¯ are two nonzero one forms. Moreover, we consider this projective change when F has some special curvature properties.

Abstract:General (alpha, beta)-metrics form a rich class of Finsler metrics. They include many important Finsler metrics, such as Randers metrics, square metrics and spherically symmetric metrics. In this paper, we find equations which are necessary and sufficient conditions for such Finsler metric to be locally projectively flat. By solving these equations, we obtain all of locally projectively flat general (alpha, beta)-metrics under certain condition. Finally, we manufacture explicitly new locally projectively flat Finsler metrics.

Abstract:We give an explicit construction of an (n+1)-parameter family of pro-jectively Ricci-flat Finsler metrics on an n-dimensional double hemisphere by using the spherical harmonics of degree 1. We also show that all locally projectively flat Ran-ders metrics with isotropic S-curvature on the standard unit sphere are projectively Ricci-flat.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to examine the condition for a Finsler space with a generalized α,β -metric to be projectively flat. In addition, we establish that the Finsler space with generalized α,β -metric is a flat-parallel Minkowski space and derive the condition under which the β -change for the aforementioned metric is projective. We also explored the projective nature of β -change for various significant Finsler metrics derived from the generalized α,β -metric.

Abstract:Projectively flat Finlser metrics on a convex domain U in ℝ^n are regular solutions to Hilbert’s Fourth Problem. In this paper, we study projectively flat Finlser metrics on U. We find equations that characterize these metrics with weakly orthogonal invariance, refining a theorem due to Sol ó rzano-Le ó n. As its application, we obtain infinitely many new projectively flat Finlser metrics on 𝕊^n+1 and determine their scalar flag curvature. These metrics contain Bryant’s projective spherically symmetric Finsler metric of constant flag curvature 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove a structure theorem for projectively flat Finsler metrics of negative constant flag curvature. We show that for such a Finsler metric if the orthogonal group acts as isometries, then the Finsler metric is a slight generalization of Chern–Shen's construction Riemann–Finsler geometry, Nankai Tracts in Mathematics, Vol. 6 (World Scientific Publishing, Hackensack, NJ, 2005), x+192 pp.

Abstract:The S-curvature is one of most important non-Riemannian quantities in Finsler geometry. It delicately related to Riemannian quantities. This note gives an explicit construction of 3-parameter family of non-locally projectively flat Finsler metrics of non-constant isotropic S-curvature. The necessary and sufficient condition that these Finsler metrics are of constant flag curvature is given.

Abstract:A generalized Einstein-Hilbert functional in Finsler geometry is defined and its Euler-Lagrange equation is derived, which depends on not only the Ricci scalar but also the mean Landsberg curvature. Such critical metrics include usual Riemann-Einstein metrics. Some non-Riemannian examples of critical metrics are given. Moreover, some rigidity theorems for a Finsler metric to be Riemannian are obtained.

Abstract:We study Finsler metrics with orthogonal invariance. By determining an expression of these Finsler metrics we find a PDE equivalent to these metrics being locally projectively flat. Abstract:In this paper, we study locally projectively flat Finsler metrics of constant flag curvature. We find equations that characterize these metrics by warped product. Using the obtained equations, we manufacture new locally projectively flat Finsler warped product metrics of vanishing flag curvature. These metrics contain the metric introduced by Berwald and the spherically symmetric metric given by Mo-Zhu.
