Abstract: In this paper, a characteristic condition of the projectively flat Kropina metric is given. By it, we prove that a Kropina metric $F=\alpha^2/\beta$ with constant curvature $K$ and $\|\beta\|_{\alpha}=1$ is projectively flat if and only if $F$ is locally Minkowskian.

Abstract:In this paper, a characteristic condition of Einstein Kropina metrics is given. By the characteristic condition, we prove that a non-Riemannian Kropina metric $F=\frac{\alpha^2}{\beta}$ with constant Killing form $\beta$ on an n-dimensional manifold $M$, $n\geq 2$, is an Einstein metric if and only if $\alpha$ is also an Einstein metric. By using the navigation data $(h,W)$, it is proved that an n-dimensional ($n\geq2$) Kropina metric $F=\frac{\alpha^2}{\beta}$ is Einstein if and only if the Riemannian metric $h$ is Einstein and $W$ is a unit Killing vector field with respect to $h$. Moreover, we show that every Einstein Kropina metric must have vanishing S-curvature, and any conformal map between Einstein Kropina metrics must be homothetic.

Abstract:To study the prescribed $k$ -curvature problem of 2nd-order symmetric curvature tensors on complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds, we consider a class of fully nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations. It is proved that on a Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature and Ricci curvature bounded from below, the equation is solvable provided that all the eigenvalues of the tensor are negative. The result is applicable to the prescribed $k$ -curvature problems of modified Schouten tensor and Bakry–Émery Ricci tensor.

Abstract:In this paper, we find equations to characterize projective change between (α,β)-metric F=(α+β)2α and Randers metric F¯=α¯+β¯ on a manifold with dimension n⩾3, where α and α¯ are two Riemannian metrics, β and β¯ are two nonzero one forms. Moreover, we consider this projective change when F has some special curvature properties.

Abstract:General (alpha, beta)-metrics form a rich class of Finsler metrics. They include many important Finsler metrics, such as Randers metrics, square metrics and spherically symmetric metrics. In this paper, we find equations which are necessary and sufficient conditions for such Finsler metric to be locally projectively flat. By solving these equations, we obtain all of locally projectively flat general (alpha, beta)-metrics under certain condition. Finally, we manufacture explicitly new locally projectively flat Finsler metrics.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:Through an interesting physical perspective and a certain contraction of the Ricci curvature tensor in Finsler geometry, Akbar-Zadeh introduced the concept of scalar curvature for the Finsler metric. In this paper, we show that the Kropina metric is of isotropic scalar curvature if and only if F is an Einstein metric according to the navigation data. Moreover, we obtain the three-dimensional rigidity theorem for an Einstein–Kropina metric.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to examine the condition for a Finsler space with a generalized α,β -metric to be projectively flat. In addition, we establish that the Finsler space with generalized α,β -metric is a flat-parallel Minkowski space and derive the condition under which the β -change for the aforementioned metric is projective. We also explored the projective nature of β -change for various significant Finsler metrics derived from the generalized α,β -metric.

Abstract:Projectively flat Finlser metrics on a convex domain U in ℝ^n are regular solutions to Hilbert’s Fourth Problem. In this paper, we study projectively flat Finlser metrics on U. We find equations that characterize these metrics with weakly orthogonal invariance, refining a theorem due to Sol ó rzano-Le ó n. As its application, we obtain infinitely many new projectively flat Finlser metrics on 𝕊^n+1 and determine their scalar flag curvature. These metrics contain Bryant’s projective spherically symmetric Finsler metric of constant flag curvature 1.

Abstract:In this article we study the metric property and the function theory of asymptotically locally Euclidean (ALE) Kähler manifolds. In particular, we prove the Ricci flatness under the assumption that the Ricci curvature of such manifolds is either nonnegative or nonpositive. The result provides a generalization of previous gap type theorems established by Greene and Wu, Mok, Siu and Yau, etc. It can also be thought of as a general positive mass type result. The method also proves the Liouville properties of plurisubharmonic functions on such manifolds. We also give a characterization of Ricci flatness of an ALE Kähler manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature in terms of the structure of its cone at infinity.

Abstract:We define a partition of the space of projectively flat metrics in three classes according to the sign of the Chern scalar curvature; we prove that the class of negative projectively flat metrics is empty, and that the class of positive projectively flat metrics consists precisely of locally conformally flat-Kähler metrics on Hopf manifolds, explicitly characterized by Vaisman. Finally, we review the properties of zero projectively flat metrics. As applications, we refine a list of possible projectively flat metrics by Li, Yau, and Zheng; moreover we prove that projectively flat astheno-Kähler metrics are in fact Kähler and globally conformally flat.

Abstract:We study Finsler metrics with orthogonal invariance. By determining an expression of these Finsler metrics we find a PDE equivalent to these metrics being locally projectively flat.
