Abstract:Research and application of botanical pesticides, including plant chem ical defense, botanical pesticides, plant protestants, and tropical plant pestic ides are briefly reviewed. The research and application of botanical bactericide s and botanical herbicides are far less intensive and extensive compared with th e botanical insecticides. However, current researches indicates that a wide rang e of plants had the capacity of controlling weeds, bacteria and fungi. There is, therefore, a great prospect to exploit plant resources to develop bactericides, fungicides and herbicides.

Abstract:Dendrobium Sw.,known as one kind of valuable medicinal herb,are widely used in pharmaceuticals and health products.Under natural conditions,medical Dendrobium endophytes can promote the seedling growth rate,enhance biological resistance and induce synthesis of secondary metabolites.Moreover,medical Dendrobium endophytes can accelerate the growth rate and ensure survival of transplanting.In this paper,the biodiversity of endophytes and the relationship between endophytes and medical Dendrobium were overviewed,and the application of the endophytes was prospected.

Abstract:Pteris is one of the commonly used Chinese herbal medicines,and more than 300 species of this genus have been found up to now,about 66 species in China,and 24 species can be used in medicines.According to Records of Medicinal Harvest in Lingnan,the majority of Pteris plants has the effects such as the detumescence,detoxification and stopping dysentery,and is often used for the treatment of diarrhea,enteritis,hemoptysis,trauma bleeding,sore throat,dysentery,nephritis,rheumatism and other diseases.The plants of Pteris are a rich in chemical constituents,including flavonoids,terpenoids,sesquiterpenoids,diterpenoids,essential oils,polysaccharides and other compounds.Some plant extracts of this genus have antioxidant,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,antiviral,and antitumor activities,especially the study on anti-tumor,antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities are more thorough.In the paper,in order to provide theoretical reference for further research on the development and utilization of Pteris,the structure of terpenoids isolated from Pteris,biological activity and mechanism of action were summarized and reviewed from the articles published from 1973,and then the prospects on development and utilization of Pterisin prevention and treatment of cancer were given to provide theoretical reference for further study,development and utilization of terpenoid in Pteris in the future.

Abstract:There are various resources and secondary metabolism products in Pteridophyta plant. Thus, there is a great exploration potential to apply it for inheritance research, medical and health care, ornamental plants and indicator plant. To make full use of Pteridophyta resources, in this review the propagation technology and research progress of it were summarized. Meanwhile, the tissue culture of Pteridophyta plants was also forecasted.

Abstract:Plants in Ainsliaea genus, belongs to Compositae family, are traditional Chinese medicine and widely used in folk. These plants contain various types of chemical components, and main components are sesquiterpene lactone and its glycosides. In addition, there are triterpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, phenolic acid, long chain fatty acid and volatile oils. Recently, much attention has been payed to varlous research of A. fragrans. This paper reviewed and summarized the chemical components to provide the theoretical basis for the use of Ainsliaea.

Abstract:Objective To summarize the research progress of chemical structures and biological activities of Pachysandra terminalis Sieb.et Zucc.,and to provide references for the further research.Methods Literatures about Pachysandra terminalis Sieb.et Zucc.between 1964 to 2016 in journals and books were summarized in respect of the progress of chemical structures and biological activities.Results Since 1964,scholars separated a variety of alkaloids and non-alkaloid constituents from Pachysandra terminalis Sieb.et Zucc.and its antibacterial,anti-tumor, anti-oxidation,anti-ulcer and immunosuppressive activity were studied.Conclusion In order to develop the medicinal application of Pachysandra terminalis Sieb.et Zucc.,the chemical constituents,pharmacological activities and mechanism should be conducted.Meanwhile,the biological effects and the medical value compounds should be clarified.

Abstract:Research progress in the chemical ingredients(alkaloid and flavone, etc.) study of the plant, Sophora alopecuroides L. was revinwed in this paper. Study and application on the medical pharmacology and agricultural activity(insecticidal and fungicidal function,etc.) of the active ingredients from the plant are summarized. Essential challenge point of the fungicide study, fungicidal compound extraction and mechanism research on this plant are discussed. Finally authors prospected further facilitation of the chemical study and its contribution to the developmemt of quantum pesticide.

Abstract:The Papaveraceae plant family serves as a botanical reservoir for a variety of medicinal compounds that have been traditionally utilized in Chinese medicine for numerous generations. Growing attention towards the pharmaceutical potential of Papaveraceae has resulted in the identification of many alkaloids, which have attracted significant attention from the scientific community because of their structural complexity and wide range of biological activities, such as analgesic, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-tumor, anti-cancer, and other activities, making them potential candidates for medical use. The primary objective of this review is to analyze the existing literature on the historical use of Papaveraceae plants, focusing on their alkaloid structures and relationship with pharmacological effects, as well as provide a theoretical basis for their clinical application, with the goal of unveiling the future potential of Papaveraceae plants.

Abstract:Pleione is a genus of Orchidaceae and is one of the major sources of Pseudobulbus Cremastrae seu Pleiones (PCsP). It contains many constituents, such as phenanthrene, bibenzyl, glycoside, flavonoid and so on, which have plenty of bioactivities, including anti-tumor, anti-oxidation, anti-inflammatory, lowering glycemic levels and other pharma cological activities. In order to further utilize the edible and medicinal functions of Pleione, and clarify its medicinal active ingredients, this review systematically summarizes the constituents and pharmacological effects of Pleione, which will provide a theoretical foundation for the clinical application and new drug development．

Abstract:Many plants of Dendrobium genus are precious traditional herbs with high commercial value and excellent medicinal effects. They are perennial aerophytes or epiphytes of terrestrial orchids growing on cliffs and tree trunks covered with mosses in forests throughout the tropical and subtropical Asia and eastern Australia. The stem contains a variety of bioactive components, including polysaccharides and alkaloids, with strong antioxidant, neuroprotective, and immunomodulatory effects. Great attention has been drawn to the Dendrobium genus regarding its medicinal effectiveness, and the related researches have been accumulating rapidly in recent years. The bioactive components are mainly the intermediates or final products produced in specialized metabolite biosynthesis. Thus far, the activity, molecular structure, and composition of major medicinal ingredients have been partially elucidated, and the sequencing of several transcriptomes has been starting to shed new light on the biosynthesis regulation mechanism. This paper reviewed the advances of researches concerning the biosynthetic pathways of medicinal specialized metabolites from Dendrobium, especially the large number of related genes, with the hope of further promoting the development and utilization of those components and correspondingly protecting the Dendrobium resources in more effective ways.
