Optimum Design of a Forming Roller for Power Spinning Process of Conical Parts with Transverse Inner Ribs

Abstract:In power spinning process of conical parts with transverse inner ribs,the roller parameters have an obvi-ous effect on the formability of inner ribs.In order to improve the forming quality of inner ribs,it is necessary to optimize the roller parameters.In this study,the effects and significance of four key roller parameters including the forming angle,back angle,round radius and diameter on the formability of inner ribs were obtained by using Tagu-chi method.The results show that:( 1) in power spinning process of conical parts with transverse inner ribs,the forming angle of the roller is the prominent factor influencing the formability of inner ribs,the round radius of the roller is the next prominent factor influencing the formability of inner ribs;the back angle and diameter of the roller have a neglected effect on the formability of inner ribs;( 2) the smaller the forming angle and round radius of the roller,the better the formability of inner ribs.
