Abstract:In this paper, we point out that the conditions given in [1] are sufficient but unnecessary for the global asymptotically stable equilibrium of a class of delay differential equations. Instead, we prove that under weaker conditions, it is still global asymptotically stable.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a class of neutral stochastic differential systems with variable delays and give sufficient conditions to ensure that the zero solution is asymptotically stable in the mean square by means of a generalisation of Banach's contraction principle. These conditions do not require the boundedness of delays, nor do they ask for a fixed sign on the coefficient functions. The results are shown to improve the previous globally stable results derived in the literature.

Abstract:In this brief, dynamical systems with unbounded time-varying delays are investigated. Two approaches are developed to derive sufficient conditions ensuring the existence, uniqueness of the equilibrium and its global stability. Moreover, different from globally asymptotical stability and globally exponential stability, a new concept of stability, global power stability, is proposed. Under mild conditions, we prove that the dynamical systems with unbounded time-varying delays are globally power stable.

Abstract:In this paper, without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation functions, we utilize a new Lyapunov function to analyze the global convergence of a class of neural networks models with time delays. A new sufficient condition guaranteeing the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point is derived. This stability criterion imposes constraints on the feedback matrices independently of the delay parameters. The result is compared with some previous works. Furthermore, the condition may be less restrictive in the case that the activation functions are hyperbolic tangent.

Abstract:Research on delayed neural networks with variable self-inhibitions, interconnection weights, and inputs is an important issue. In this paper, we discuss a large class of delayed dynamical systems with almost periodic self-inhibitions, inter-connection weights, and inputs. This model is universal and includes delayed systems with time-varying delays, distributed delays as well as combination of both. We prove that under some mild conditions, the system has a unique almost periodic solution, which is globally exponentially stable. We propose a new approach, which is independent of existing theory concerning with existence of almost periodic solution for dynamical systems.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of delayed cellular neural networks are investigated. Besides the coexistence of multiple equilibrium points and their multistability, we are concerned with the complete stability of these dynamical systems. And by rigorous analysis, it concludes that every solution trajectory would converge to one of the equilibrium points despite of the time-varying delays, that is, the delayed cellular neural networks are completely stable.

Abstract:In this paper, we study asymptotic stability of the zero solution of a class of differential systems governed by a scalar differential inequality with time-varying structures and delays. We establish a new generalized Halanay inequality for the asymptotic stability of the zero solution for such systems under more relaxed conditions than the existing ones. We also apply the theoretical results to the analysis of self synchronization in networks of delayed differential systems and obtain a more general sufficient condition for self synchronization.

Abstract:Adapting a counterexample recently proposed by J.L. Mancilla-Aguilar and H. Haimovich, we show here that, for time-delay systems, global asymptotic stability does not ensure that solutions converge uniformly to zero over bounded sets of initial states. Hence, the convergence might be arbitrarily slow even if initial states are confined to a bounded set.

Abstract:For the networks that are linear conjugate to complex balanced systems, the delayed version may include two classes of networks: one class is still linear conjugate to the delayed complex balanced network, the other is not. In this paper, we prove the existence of the first class of networks, and emphasize the local asymptotic stability relative to a certain defined invariant set. For the second class of systems, we define a special subclass and derive the local asymptotic stability for the subclass. Two examples are provided to illustrate our results.

Abstract:In this Letter, we discuss delayed periodic dynamical systems, compare capability of criteria of global exponential stability in terms of various Lp (1⩽p<∞) norms. A general approach to investigate global exponential stability in terms of various Lp (1⩽p<∞) norms is given. Sufficient conditions ensuring global exponential stability are given, too. Comparisons of various stability criteria are given. More importantly, it is pointed out that sufficient conditions in terms of L1 norm are enough and easy to implement in practice.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss delayed Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time-varying and distributed delays and investigate their global asymptotical stability of the equilibrium point. The model proposed in this paper is universal. A set of sufficient conditions ensuring global convergence and globally exponential convergence for the Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with time-varying and distributed delays are given. Most of the existing models and global stability results for Cohen-Grossberg neural networks, Hopfield neural networks and cellular neural networks can be obtained from the theorems given in this paper.

Abstract:In this report, we develop a semistability analysis framework for nonlinear systems with bounded time-varying delays with applications to stability analysis of multiagent dynamic networks with consensus protocols in the presence of unknown heterogeneous time-varying delays along the communication links. We show that for such a nonlinear system having nonisolated equilibria, if the system asymptotically converges to a constant time-delay system and this new system is semistable, then the original time-varying delay system is semistable. In proving our results, we extend the limiting differential equation approach to time-varying delay systems and also develop some new convergence results for functional differential equations.
