Abstract:Background and Objectives: The aim of the present study is to compare the efficacy of three root canal preparation systems in the shaping of 3D-printed root canal replicas of single rooted teeth. Materials and Methods: Sixty 3D-printed root canal replicas were produced and divided into three groups, each consisting of twenty samples. Each group was shaped with a different instrument: Reciproc Blue R25/08 (VDW GmbH, Munich, Gemany), WaveOne Gold Primary 25/07 (Dentsply Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland), and ProTaper Gold F2 25/08 (Denstply Sirona). To ensure the reproducibility of pre- and post-operative CBCT images of the root canals, the endodontic printed replicas were placed in a mould of silicon impression material. A cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) software was used to compare pre- and post-instrumentation images collected at three levels of the root canal length: 3, 6, and 9 mm from the apical foramen. The amount of transportation, centring ability, and curvature angle after shaping were evaluated for each system. The results were statistically analysed and compared using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: Regarding the transportation of the root canal after shaping, significant differences between groups at 3 mm (p = 0.010721) and 6 mm (p = 0.000046) were recorded in the mesio-distal direction, while in the bucco-lingual significant differences were only observed at 6 mm (p = 0.000554). Reciproc Blue removed more dentin from the mesial and buccal wall of the root canal. When evaluating the centring ability of the three systems, significant differences were observed between the groups at the level of 9 mm (p = 0.037258) in the mesio-distal direction, and at the level of 6 mm (p = 0.038197) in the bucco-lingual direction. Significant differences of the canal curvature angle after shaping were also observed between groups (p = 0.000001). Reciproc Blue straightened the curvature the most, while ProTaper Gold the least. Conclusions: All systems produced minor root canal transportation. No instrument was able to achieve a perfect centring preparation of the root canal. All systems produced a small degree of root canal straightening.

Abstract:Background. Efficient canal preparation is the key to successful root canal treatment. This study aimed to assess the cleaning and shaping ability, preparation time and file deformation of rotary, reciprocating and manual instrumentation in canal preparation of primary molars. Methods. The mesiobuccal canals of 64 extracted primary mandibular second molars were injected with India ink. The samples were randomly divided into one control and three experimental groups. Experimental groups were instrumented with K-file, Mtwo in continuous rotation and Reciproc in reciprocating motion, respectively. The control group received no treatment. The files were discarded after four applications. Shaping ability was evaluated using CBCT. After clearing, ink removal was scored. Preparation time and file fracture or deformation was also recorded. Data were analyzed with SPSS 19 using chi-squared, Fisher's exact test, Kruskal-Wallis and post hoc tests at a significance level of 0.05. Results. Considering cleanliness, at coronal third Reciproc was better than K-file (P < 0.001), but not more effective than Mtwo (P = 0.080). Furthermore, Mtwo leaved the canal cleaner than K-file (P = 0.001). In the middle third, only Reciproc exhibited better cleaning efficacy than K-file (P = 0.005). In the apical third, no difference was detected between the groups (P = 0.794). Regarding shaping ability, no differences were found between Reciproc and Mtwo (P = 1.00). Meanwhile, both displayed better shaping efficacy than K-file (P < 0.05). Between each two groups, there were differences in preparation time (P < 0.05), with Reciproc being the fastest. No file failure occurred. Conclusion. Fast and sufficient cleaning and shaping could be achieved with Mtwo and especially with Reciproc.
Shaping ability of BioRace, ProTaper NEXT and Genius nickel-titanium instruments in curved canals of mandibular molars: a MicroCT study

Abstract:Aim: To evaluate and compare the canal shaping ability of BioRace, ProTaper NEXT and Genius engine-driven nickel-titanium (NiTi) file systems in extracted mandibular first molars using micro-computed tomography (MCT). Methodology: Sixty mesial root canals of mandibular first molars were randomly divided into three equal groups, according to the instrument system used for root canal preparation (n = 20): BioRace (BR), ProTaper NEXT (PTN) or Genius (GN). Root canals were prepared to the full WL using a crown-down technique up to size 35, .04 taper instruments for BR and GN groups and size 30, .07 taper instruments for the PTN group. MCT was used to scan the specimens before and after canal instrumentation. Changes in dentine volume, the percentage of uninstrumented canal surface and degree of canal transportation were evaluated in the coronal, middle and apical thirds of canals. Data were analysed statistically using one-way analysis of variance and Tuckey's post hoc tests with the significance level set at 5%. Results: There were no significant differences between the three groups in the terms of dentine removed after preparation and determination of the root canal volume, or percentage of uninstrumented canal surface (P > 0.05). No significant differences were found between the systems for canal transportation in any canal third (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The shaping ability of the BR, PTN and GN NiTi file systems was equally effective. All instrumentation systems prepared curved root canal systems with no evidence of undesirable changes in 3D parameters or significant shaping errors.
Shaping ability of R-phase nickel-titanium rotary instruments in simulated S-shaped canals

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the shaping ability of TF,Endo Wave and K3 instruments in simulated Sshaped root canals. Methods A total of 120 simulated S-shaped resin blocks were divided randomly into three groups( n= 40),each group was prepared with each instrument,respectively. Preparation time was recorded. Pre-and postoperative images were obtained by a digital microscope and superimposed using Photoshop. The change of curvatures,and material removal from the inner and outer canal walls at 10 points beginning from 0 mm at the end point of the canal were measured using Image J. Centering ability was determined,accordingly. The data were analyzed using the One-Way ANOVA at a significance level of P 0. 05. Results Preparation time for TF was 14. 00 ± 4. 56 s,significantly faster than that for K3 and Endo Wave,while the changes of curvatures were not significantly different among the three instruments. At the apical curve,the removal of resin from the inner wall by TF was significantly less than Endo Wave and K3( P 0. 05). At the coronal curve,the material removal from the outer wall of TF were significantly less than K3( P 0. 05). At the straight part,TF removed significantly less material from the inner wall than Endo Wave and K3( P 0. 05). At points from 5 mm to 9 mm,the transportation of TF were significantly less than Endo Wave( P 0. 05),while that of TF was not significantly different with that of K3( P 0. 05),except for the 6 mm point( P 0. 05). Conclusion TF prepares S-shaped resin canals efficiently,with less aberrations and transportations than Endo Wave and K3.

Abstract:In summary, we have optimized the operation current to obtain stable endurance and retention properties in Ti/HfOx based bipolar RRAM for future low power nonvolatile memory applications. Furthermore, the 1st RESET resistance pinning effect after the FORMING process at lower current is greatly improved by selecting the Ti/HfOx thickness ratio in TiN/Ti/HfOx/TiN 1T1R RRAM. Thus, in order to achieve the reliable switching at low operation current, the design of the memory element is crucial.

Abstract:Objective Pediatric endodontics has become popular due to advancements in cleaning, shaping, and irrigation systems, resulting in faster and effective removal of infected pulp, saving time, and creating a pathogen-free environment. The patented rotary file system, Kedo S, designed for primary teeth, introduced a single file generation for efficient pulp therapy. However, there are currently no studies assessing canal preparation in primary mandibular canine using nano-computed tomography (nano-CT). This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of rotary file systems (Kedo S plus, Kedo SG blue) against traditional hand files in root canal preparation of primary mandibular canines using nano-CT. Materials and Methods This in vitro study was performed in extracted primary mandibular canine based on certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Samples were prepared and working length was determined before the preoperative scan using a high-resolution nano-CT device (SkyScan 2214, Bruker, Kontich, Belgium). A single well-experienced pediatric dentist prepared the canals using three file systems: Kedo S plus, Kedo SG blue, and hand K-files. A postoperative scan was performed similar to preoperative scan. Image reconstruction was performed with NRecon software for three-dimensional volumetric visualization and analysis of the root canals. Results Kedo S plus displayed significant alterations in volumetric, surface area, and instrumented areas postpreparation compared with Kedo SG blue and hand files. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences in volumetric and surface changes between Kedo S plus and hand files. Conclusion Rotary file systems, especially Kedo S plus, resulted in increased canal volume and surface area with minimal uninstrumented areas, showing promise for primary dentition root canal preparations. Further clinical assessments are warranted to validate these findings.

Abstract:Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the root canal preparation abilities of two nickel–titanium (NiTi) instrument systems, namely WaveOne (WO) and ProTaper Next (PTN), using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), on human extracted teeth. Materials and Methods: Eighty mesiobuccal root canals of the maxillary and mandibular first molars with a curvature of 10°–39° were chosen. CBCT images were captured before instrumentation using special silicone molds to ensure that the teeth are positioned at the same place before and after instrumentation. The root canals were divided into two groups, namely Group 1 and Group 2 (40 root canals in each group with similar root canal curvatures). Group 1 and Group 2 were prepared using WO and PTN, respectively. Teeth were inserted again into the previous silicone molds at the right positions. Postinstrumentation CBCT images were captured with the same parameters. Pre- and postinstrumentation CBCT images were analyzed using Invivo 5 software provided by the CBCT machine manufacturer. Results: There was no difference between the two groups of root canals instrumented by two NiTi instrument systems in root canal transportation, centering ratio, straightening, and volume changes ( P > 0.05). Conclusions: Both NiTi instrument systems can be used effectively and safely in root canal instrumentation.
Comparative evaluation of remaining dentin thickness using single file, two file, and multiple rotary file system - An in vitro CBCT study

Abstract:Context: Endodontic success hinges on a multifactorial interplay, with meticulous canal shaping, proper disinfection, and three-dimensional obturation being paramount. Among these factors, the amount of dentin remaining after instrumentation directly influences the biomechanical resilience and longevity of the tooth. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the impact of various rotary instrumentation systems, including single-file, two-file, and multiple-file configurations, on the remaining dentin thickness (RDT) following canal preparation. Settings and design: This was an in vitro study, original research article. Materials and methods: Sixty mandibular premolar human extracted teeth were decoronated at the cementoenamel junction with a diamond disc. Samples were randomly assigned to three groups using a simple random sampling technique (n = 60). Group I - Single-file system (One Curve, MicroMega) (n = 20), Group II - Two-file systems (2Shape, MicroMega) (n = 20), and Group III - Multiple-file system (Hero Gold, MicroMega) (n = 20). Preoperative cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were obtained after the sample was mounted on a modeling wax sheet. The biomechanical preparation of canals followed the manufacturer's protocols for every system. Postoperative CBCT scans were obtained. Pre- and postoperative scans were compared at standardized depths (4 mm, 7 mm, and 11 mm) within the canals (coronal, middle, and apical thirds), allowing for a comprehensive assessment of RDT throughout the canal. Statistical analysis and results: According to one-way ANOVA, the highest mean was seen in Group I, followed by Group II and Group III. Hence, a statistically significant difference was found between all the groups. Post hoc Tukey's test was done for intergroup comparison. Conclusions: A single-file system preserved more dentin with less aggressive cutting compared to two-file and multiple-file systems.
Instrumentation time and effectiveness of hand and rotary files in a prototyped second mandibular primary molar: A micro-CT study

Abstract:Background: Eccentric instruments have been proposed as more effective and less time-consuming for endodontic instrumentation. Aim: To compare biomechanical outcomes of different instrumentation systems and time undertaken for instrumentation in resin prototypes. Design: Sixty standardized prototypes of mandibular second primary molars were instrumented according to the following systems: K-files, ProTaper Next (PTN), XP-endo Shaper (XPS), XP-endo Finisher (XPF), XP-Clean (XPC), and Sequence Baby File (SBF; n = 10/each). Irrigation was performed with saline with simultaneous aspiration, and time spent was recorded. The prototypes were micro-CT-scanned before and after the instrumentation, and image sets were reconstructed and registered. Non-instrumented areas, accumulated debris, removed root material volume, and canal transportation were quantified. Data were analyzed through ANOVA, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test (α = 5%). Results: K-files and SBF resulted in more instrumentation time (p < .05). SBF, XPC and PTN removed less root dentine (p < .05), but PTN left more untouched areas (p < .05). Accumulated debris were lower for XPC and SBF (p < .05). Canal transportation was similar among the groups. Conclusion: Rotary systems reduced instrumentation time, whereas SBF and XPC resulted in more conservative instrumentation, with less debris accumulation and non-instrumented areas. A dedicated paediatric endodontic system (SBF) outperformed eccentric instruments in terms of effectiveness.

This <i>in-vitro</i> study was performed in extracted primary mandibular molar based on certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Samples were prepared and working length was determined before the pre-operative scan using a high resolution nano-CT device (SkyScan 2214, Bruker, Kontich, Belgium). A single well-experienced pediatric dentist prepared the canals using three file systems: Kedo-S plus, Kedo-SG blue and Hand K-files. A post-operative scan was performed similar to pre-operative scan. Image reconstruction was performed with NRecon software for 3D volumetric visualization and analysis of the root canals. Kedo-SG blue file systems had the highest mean difference in the canal volume (8.85%). Hand K-files had the least difference at (1.24%) of canal volume. Kedo-S plus file system had a mean canal volume difference (6.14%) which is closer to hand K-files. Rotary file systems resulted in a significant enlargement of canals compared to hand files.

Effect of Different Preparation Techniques on Root Canal Geometry: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim and objective: To compare and evaluate canal preparation using hand stainless steel files, hand ProTaper files, and rotary ProTaper files for change in root canal geometry in terms of surface area and volume changes assessed by computed tomography. Materials and methods: The present study was conducted in Nair Hospital and Dental College, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in collaboration with insight CBCT, imaging technologies. A total of 36 extracted human primary mandibular second molars were collected from the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. All the teeth were scanned using cone-beam CT (i-CAT CT Scanner Next Generation, Imaging Sciences International) preoperatively and postoperatively to assess the mean absolute change in surface area and mean change in the volume of all the canals at different levels with the use of hand stainless steel files, hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper files. Results: ProTaper instruments, both hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper caused significant changes in the surface area in the coronal thirds and middle thirds of the canal when compared to hand stainless steel files. No difference was found in surface area and volume changes between hand ProTaper and rotary ProTaper instrumentation. Conclusion: Use of ProTaper instruments for preparation of deciduous teeth can render benefit of an improved canal preparation to facilitate better obturation and successful root canal therapy. A Comparative Evaluation of the Efficiencies of Different Rotary File Systems in Terms of Remaining Dentin Thickness Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography: An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the dentin thickness of the mesio-buccal canal of the lower first molar after canal preparation with three different rotary file systems using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methodology: TruNatomy (Dentsply Sirona, USA), 2Shape (Micro-Mega, France), and One Curve (Micro-Mega, France) were the three different rotary files that were employed. A total of 45 excised human permanent first mandibular molars were divided into Groups A (TruNatomy), B (2Shape), and C (One Curve) at random. To measure the residual dentin thickness at 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm from the radiographic apex, the mesial root of the tooth was removed from the tooth, and a mesio-buccal canal was taken. Samples were mounted in clear acrylic resin and were subjected to a pre-instrumentation CBCT scan. The mesio-buccal canal was cleaned and shaped while maintaining the final mesio-buccal canal preparation of Group A - 26/0.04, Group B - 25/0.04, and Group C - 25/0.04. The samples were extensively irrigated with 3% sodium hypochlorite and 17% EDTA, and a post-instrumentation scan was performed on them. Statistics were used to determine the values from CBCT scans that were recorded for pre- and post-instrumentations. Results: The results showed that Group A had the greatest drop in dentin thickness, followed by Group B and Group C. The change in dentin thickness was greatest at 3 mm and 7 mm. Conclusion: In contrast to TruNatomy and 2Shape rotary file systems, One Curve has the advantage of maintaining a tooth's thickness at 3 and 7 millimeters from the radiological apex. Since the TruNatomy file system removes more dentin than the other two combined, it should be used cautiously. Choosing the right instrument is crucial for cleaning and shaping during root canal preparation.

Abstract:ABSTRACT: Mechanical preparation of primary teeth root canals was associated with dentinal micro-cracks that might evolve into vertical root fracture compromising treatment success and shift treatment toward dental extraction. Consequently, the objective of current study was to assess and compare the dentinal crack formation of Kedo-SG Blue file and Wave-One gold to Stainless Steel hand K files after root canal preparation of primary molars. Materials and methods: Seventy-five mandibular second primary molars with two separate and straight mesial canals were chosen and immersed in distilled water. Removal of coronal portions and distal roots of all teeth were carried out utilizing a diamond coated bur with water coolant. All teeth were randomly allocated into three groups (n=25 /each) according instrumentation file: (1) Kedo-SG Blue, (2) Wave-One Gold and (3) Stainless Steel hand files. Then, all specimen were cut perpendicular to the axis of tooth to coronal, middle and apical third, therefor, three slices were obtained from each specimen. Each slice was examined with Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (E.SEM) to determine the presence/absence of cracks. Statistical analysis was carried out with R statistical analysis software version 4.0.3 for Windows.The level of significance was set at p ≤ 0.05. Results: The majority of samples instrumented with Kedo SG Blue 57(76.0%), Wave one gold 44(58.7%) and Stainless Steel k file 65(86.7%) were free of cracks. Conclusions: Higher percentages of dentinal cracks were seen in the WOG group followed by Kedo-SG Blue group, with lowest percentages recorded for Stainless Steel hand K –files group.

Abstract:This study assessed the ability of Twisted File Adaptive (TFA), TruNatomy (TRN) and VDW.Rotate (VR) instruments activated by continuous rotation (CR) and adaptive motion (AM) to shape curved root canals. Thirty mandibular molars with two separate mesial canals 20°–40° curved were collected and scanned using micro‐computed tomography (μCT). The canals were then randomly assigned into six groups (n = 10): TRN, VR or TFA instruments activated by CR or AM. TRN groups 17.02, 20.04 and 26.04; VR groups 15.04, 20.05 and 25.06; TFA groups were shaped consecutively using 15K‐file, 20.04 and 25.06. After they were shaped, the canals were scanned again. The volume of removed dentin, canal transportation and centring ratio were calculated μCT images. All data were analysed using the Kruskal–Wallis test or one‐way analysis of variance (p 0.05). The volume of dentin removed, the diameter or design features of the instruments and different kinematics did not affect the centring ratio and the amount of transportation and remained within safe limits. All three instruments activated by either kinematics were found to have similar effectiveness in shaping curved root canals.

Shaping Efficiency of Rotary and Reciprocating Kinematics of Engine-driven Nickel-Titanium Instruments in Moderate and Severely curved Root Canals Using Microcomputed Tomography: A Systematic Review of Ex Vivo Studies

Abstract:Introduction: This systematic review aimed to compare reciprocating with continuous rotary instrumentation kinematics, by means of microcomputed tomography evaluations, in extracted human permanent teeth with moderate and severe canal curvatures. Methods: The research protocol was registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews and given the reference number CRD42023404035. An electronic search was undertaken in MEDLINE (PubMed), EBSCO, Scopus, Web of Science databases until December 2021. Manual screening of issues in endodontic journals and references of relevant articles were assessed individually. The risk of bias (RoB) of the included articles was evaluated with the QUIN tool (Quality Assessment Tool for In Vitro Studies). Results: Among 1640 retrieved articles, 49 were included in the qualitative synthesis. Fifteen articles had low RoB, 33 articles had medium RoB, and only 1 study was at high RoB. Continuous rotary systems had better centering ability in both moderate and severe canal curvatures and resulted in less apical transportation in severely curved root canals. None of the kinematic systems was capable of instrumenting the entire canal surface area. Reciprocating kinematics systems tended to provide higher increase in surface area of severely curved canals and produced fewer dentinal microcracks in moderately curved canals. Conclusions: The evidence presented in this review suggests that continuous rotary system seems to be better than reciprocating system in solving the major issues encountered during root canal instrumentation of extracted teeth with moderate and severe curvatures.
Evaluation of Minimally Invasive Preparation of Curved Mesial Canals of Mandibular Molars - An In Vitro Study

Abstract:Introduction: Curved mesial roots can be challenging for different stages of endodontic treatment. Preparation aims to enlarge, clean, and shape the root canal system, and hundreds of systems are available to carry it out. Aiming to maintain pericervical dentin, minimally invasive preparation was proposed, and with it, instruments with lower tapers emerged. This study aimed to evaluate the increase in canal volume, the centering ability of the instruments, and root canal transportation of two different rotary systems with lower tapers. Methods: Eighteen curved mesial roots of extracted mandibular molars were scanned by micro-CT at 3 moments: initial and after the 2 stages of endodontic preparation. The canals were prepared using TruNatomy (TN) and ProDesign Logic 2 (PDL2) instruments up to sizes 25.04 and 26.04, respectively, and after 36.03 and 35.05, respectively. The data were analyzed using parametric and nonparametric tests with a significance level of 5%. Results: TN and PDL2 systems showed no difference regarding the increase in the volume of the canals with the first instruments, but after preparation with a diameter size of 35 or 36, there was a difference (P < .01) between the systems in the cervical and middle thirds. Conclusion: Both systems shaped the mesial canals of mandibular molars while keeping low transportation and good centering ability in enlargements up to diameter size 35 or 36 with tapers of 3 or 5%.
[Glide Path Management of Rotary Nickel-Titanium Instruments in Simulated Root Canals].

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To compare the shaping ability of ProGlider, HyFlex EDM Glidepath File and RaCe ISO 10 with that of PathFile and stainless steel K-file hand instruments in simulated root canals. METHODS A total of 60 simulated resin blocks were divided randomly into five groups (n=12), each group prepared with each instrument, respectively. Preparation time was recorded. Pre- and post-operative images were obtained using a scanner and superimposed using Photoshop. The material removal from the inner and outer canal walls beginning from 0 mm at the end point of the canal were measured using ImageJ. Centering ability was determined, accordingly. The data were analyzed using the One-Way ANOVA at a significance level of P<0.05. RESULTS Preparation time for ProGlider was (61.018±5.020) s, significantly the fastest (P < 0.05), that for SS K-file (111.100±6.987) s, the slowest (P<0.05), and the differences among the other 3 groups were not significant (P>0.05). The removal of resin from the outer wall at the apical portion was significantly lower for HyFlex EDM Glidepath File than for ProGlider (P<0.05), both of them were significantly lower than the other 3 groups (P<0.05). For the removal from the inner wall at the curvature portion, ProGlider was the least whilst SS K-file the most (P<0.05). At the straight portion, RaCe ISO 10 removed the most not only from the inner but also the outer wall (P<0.05), HyFlex EDM Glidepath File the second most, and the other 3 groups among the same levels. As far as the centering ability was concerned, at the apical portion, HyFlex EDM Glidepath File was the best, ProGlider the second best, no significant difference identified among the other 3 groups. At the curvature portion, ProGlider and HyFlex EDM Glidepath File were the best, PathFile the second, RaCe ISO 10 the third, the worst was the SS K-file. At the straight portion, the difference amongt the 5 groups was not significant. CONCLUSION The shaping abilities of ProGlider, HyFlex EDM Glidepath File and RaCe ISO 10 were better or comparable to that of PathFile, while the preparation time for ProGlider reduced significantly, and HyFlex EDM Glidepath File and RaCe ISO 10 removed significantly more resin at the straight portion of the canal.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate shaping ability of nickel-titanium rotary instruments (ProTaper) in curved root canals.METHODS:The computer assistant measure system of simulated root canal was used for quantitative analysis of root shape of eight simulated root canals during ProTaper shaping process. Blue ink was injected into the simulated root canals before instrumentation, when F2 reached work length(WL) (F2) and when F3 reached WL(F3). Orifices and apexes were sealed with adhesive tapes. Root canal images were gained by Mustek BP4800TA scanner. The images before and after preparation were turned into Di-numerical images and fused. The changes of central line positions and curvatures were measured in quantity through this system. Data of seven preestablished point from orifice to apex were recorded and analysed by SPSS 10.0 soft ware.RESULTS:ProTaper system reduced the angles of simulated canals. Selecting F2 or F3 as the master apical file (MAF) had no influence on the changing rate of the root angles. ProTaper had excess cutting on the outer wall of orifice and the inner wall of curve part, but the displacement of apex was minimal (only 0.021 mm).CONCLUSION:ProTaper has preferable shaping ability. To prepare very difficult curved canals, the master apical file (MAF) could be F3. Attention should be taken when preparing some curved canals with hollows in their inner walls, in order to avoid the lateral perforation.
