Abstract:Searching for highly efficient and robust CO2 adsorbents is very important for CO2 capture, utilization, and storage. In this study, new polyethylenimine-grafted metal-organic framework (MOF)-polymer composites, abbreviated as PEI@PGD-H, were synthesized via high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) template polymerization of divinylbenzene and glycidyl methacrylate, followed by in situ generation of HKUST-type MOF in the presence of hydrophobic-modified CuO nanoparticles via the reaction of CuO with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and then polyethylenimine (PEI) functionalization via epoxy-amine reaction and amine-metal sites interaction. The coexistence of the hierarchical interconnected porous skeleton of poly(glycidyl methacrylate-divinylbenzene) (PGD), high specific surface area of MOF, and chemical CO2 adsorption of PEI endows PEI@PGD-H with high CO2 adsorption capacity, rate, and selectivity. PEI7O@PGD-H shows a CO2/N-2 separation factor as high as 76 and CO2 adsorption capacities of 4.3, 3.0, and 1.8 mmol of CO2/g from pure CO2, simulated flue gas, and air, respectively. After 20 CO2 adsorption-desorption cycles, the adsorbent still retained a high and stable CO2 capture capacity over 2.8 mmol of CO2/g for simulated flue gas. The adsorbent also displays reasonably good thermal stability, excellent water endurance, low desorption energy, and easy shaping. The desorption heat is as low as 48 kJ/mol of CO2. These features make PEI@PGD-H highly efficient, robust, and low-energy CO2 adsorbents for practical application in CO2 capture.
Preparation and Co2 Sorption/Desorption of N-(3-Aminopropyl) Aminoethyl Tributylphosphonium Amino Acid Salt Ionic Liquids Supported into Porous Silica Particles

Abstract:To search for robust CO2 capture materials, several N-(3-aminopropyl)aminoethyl tributylphosphonium amino acid salts ([apaeP(444)][AA])-type task specific ionic liquids (TSILs) were synthesized and immobilized into porous silica support through a facile impregnation vaporization method. The ILs and thus prepared sorbents, Sorb-AA, were well characterized, and their CO2 sorption and desorption behaviors under temperature- and vacuum-swing conditions were investigated. The Its can be immobilized facilely into silica up to 1/1 IL/SiO2 weight ratio. After IL loading, the sorbents retain reasonably high specific surface area and porosity and therefore exhibit rapid sorption and desorption rates as well as excellent sorption capacity and selectivity and can be used repeatedly. Among them, Sorb-Lys has the highest CO2 sorption capacity. It can capture 1.54 mmol or 67.9 mg CO2 per gram sorbent from a simulated flue gas containing 14% CO2 in each cycle of sorption and desorption. Sorb-Gly has slightly less CO2 sorption capacity, 1.37 mmol or 60.4 mg CO2 per gram sorbent from the simulated flue gas, and much better long-term durability. It is estimated that it can retain 90% sorption capacity even after 1.38 x 10(3) cycles. These robust sorbents, especially Sorb-Gly, exhibit excellent potential in CO2 capture applications.
Polyethylenimine-Impregnated Siliceous Mesocellular Foam Particles As High Capacity Co2 Adsorbents

Abstract:Siliceous mesostructured cellular foams (MCF) impregnated with polyethylenimine (PEI) of various molecular weights and structures were evaluated as CO2 adsorbents. The MCF solid support consisted of a well-defined interconnected three-dimensional mesoporous structure with large cell diameter of 30.3 nm and large window diameter of 11.3 nm, filled with polyethylenimine up to 70 weight percent or about 22.3% nitrogen atom by weight of the adsorbents. While other mesoporous solid supports lost their porosity after PEI impregnation, our MCF solid support maintained its pore volume over the range of 1.12 to 1.64 cm(3) g(-1). The importance of the porosity of PEI-impregnated MCF adsorbents for high capacity CO2 adsorbents was demonstrated. The highest CO2 sorption capacity (180.6 mg-CO2/g-adsorbent or 393.6 mg-CO2/g-PEI at 75 degrees C) was obtained for silica supports loaded with 50 weight percent branched PEI with average molecular weight of 600 g mol(-1). Under dry atmospheric CO2 gas, this adsorbent reached the theoretical CO2 capacity of 0.50 mole-CO2 per mole-nitrogen within less than about 8 min, making this adsorbent one of the most effective CO2 adsorbents reported. Repeated multiple sorption cycles demonstrated good stability of this adsorbent for CO2 capture. The initial sorption kinetics determined the overall CO2 sorption capacity, which was limited by the formation of a carbamate layer as a result of the CO2-PEI complexation that due to inhibition of CO2 diffusion; the kinetics of "ionic" gelation of the impregnated PEI by CO2 controlled the overall performance of the CO2 adsorbents. At 75 degrees C, the operating temperature favored the molecular mobility of PEI and unrestricted diffusion of CO2 to allow the theoretical CO2 capacity of the PEI to be attained. Lower temperatures limited the mobilities of PEI and CO2 and the kinetics of "ionic" gel formation dominated, causing a lowered overall performance of the CO2 adsorbents. Overall, this study points to the importance of interconnected porous channel networks to optimize the performance of PEI-impregnated mesoporous silica particles.
Adsorptive Removal of Carbon Dioxide Using Polyethyleneimine Supported on Propanesulfonic-Acid-Functionalized Mesoporous SBA-15

Abstract:One-step synthesized sulfonic-acid-functionalized SBA-15 (denoted as alpha SSBA-15) impregnated with polyethyleneimine (PEI) was used for CO2 capture in this study. The resulted sorbents were characterized via a range of analytical techniques, including transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Si-29 magic angle spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared (IR), thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG DSC), etc. Experimental results showed that the incorporation of propanesulfonic acid groups into the inner structure of the silica support had brought dramatic improvement in CO2 adsorption capacity, of which PEI/SSSBA-15 showed the highest CO2 adsorption amount. The main reason of this increased capacity could be attributed to the enhanced CO2 diffusion into bulk networks of PEI polymers because of its better dispersion in the pores of support, where the extended propanesulfonic acid groups on the inner surface could spatially disperse the subsequent loaded PEI molecules. Furthermore, the PEI/5SSBA-15 also exhibited superior stable cyclic adsorption/desorption performance compared to PEI/SBA-15, especially after 5 cycles. This was assumed because the enhanced surface acidity of PEI/5SSBA-15 anchored the NH2/NH groups through acid-base interaction, reducing the loss of active sites.
Facile fabrication of mesoporosity silica as support for solid amine CO2 adsorbents with enhanced adsorption capacity and kinetics

Abstract:Solid amine adsorbents show the excellent capture performance in flue gas CO2 separation. The pore structure of adsorbent plays a crucial role in improving adsorption performance. Herein, hierarchical mesoporous silica (HMS) support with large pore volume was prepared via one template without resorting to either additives or multi-templates. The pore structure of HMS support for polyethyleneimine (PEI) resulted in larger CO2 adsorption capacity and faster adsorption kinetics when compared to the SBA-15 support with the same amount of PEI loading. At the optimal PEI loading of 70 wt% on HMS, CO2 adsorption amount is 4.21 mmol/g at 75 °C with 15 vol% CO2. Simultaneously, HMS-PEI70% adsorbent is proved to be good stability during 20 adsorption cyclic. These results demonstrate that supports with hierarchical mesoporosity provide significant advantages for CO2 capture. Finally, considering the practical application of adsorbent, the influence of capture temperature and impurity gas on capture performance has been further investigated. CO2 adsorption capacity was enhanced with the presence of water, while the SO2 has the negative effect on the capture performance due to the competitive adsorption of sulfur dioxide. This work can provide a promising composite adsorbent to realize the efficient CO2 separation from the flue gas in the future.

Abstract:Mechanochemistry is very attractive as an efficient, solvent-free, and simplified technique for the preparation of composite adsorbents. Here, a series of polyethyleneimine (PEI)-modified SiO2 adsorbents were prepared via mechanical ball milling for selective adsorption of CO2 at high temperatures. The structural properties of these adsorbents were characterized by XRD, SEM, TGA, FTIR, and N2 adsorption-desorption. This method can better disperse the PEI evenly in the SiO2 as well as maintain the porous structure of the adsorbents by comparing with the impregnated adsorbents. These adsorbents presented appreciable performance in separating CO2 at high temperatures, and the CO2 adsorption capacity of PEI(70%)/SiO2 is up to 2.47 mmol/g at 70 °C and 1.5 bar, which is significantly higher than that of the same type of CO2 adsorbent reported in the literature. Furthermore, the adsorbent of PEI(70%)/SiO2 provided an ideally infinite selectivity for CO2/N2 (15:85) at 70 °C. These results showed that mechanical grinding methods are a simple and effective approach to producing amine-modified silica composite adsorbents.

Abstract:Industrial grade multiwalled carbon nanotubes (IG-MWCNTs) were functionalized with polyethylenimines (PEIs) for CO2 capture from simulated flue gas. Ethylenediamine end-capped PEI (PEI-EC) impregnated IG-MWCNTs was found to exhibit a significantly higher adsorption capacity than other branched PEIs impregnated IG-MWCNTs. The PEI-EC impregnated IG-MWCNTs were characterized with various experimental methods including N-2 adsorption/desorption isotherms, X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. The CO2 adsorption behavior of the PEI-EC impregnated IG-MWCNTs is influenced by PEI loading and adsorption temperature. The PEI-EC impregnated IG-MWCNTs exhibit a CO2 adsorption capacity as high as 2.538 mmol/g at 343 K, and can be completely regenerated higher than 403 K. The CO2 adsorption/desorption kinetics of the PEI-EC impregnated IG-MWCNTs was investigated with Avramis fractional order kinetic model. The activation energy of the CO2 adsorption/desorption was calculated from Arrhenius equation and used to evaluate the performance of the adsorbent.

Abstract:Polyamine-based protic ionic liquid (PILs)-functionalized mesoporous silica has drawn much attention due to its high CO2 adsorption rate, high CO2 adsorption capacity, and recyclability. However, the performance of these materials under realistic operating conditions and the influence of flue gas contaminants such as SOx, NOx, and water vapor remain unexplored. In this study, the effects of these flue gas contaminants on CO2 adsorption of PILs-functionalized SBA-15 are evaluated through breakthrough experiments. The results show that the CO2 adsorption capacity and capture rate of the hybrid sorbents are increased by about one-third in the presence of trace water vapor. This is attributed to additional CO2 capture pathways with amine groups that result from the humid environment. The additional pathway was further explained with FT-IR spectroscopy and DFT calculations, which reveal that in the presence of water vapor the CO2 molecules react with amine groups to form stable zwitterionic bicarbonate ions. On the other hand, the sorbents have strong resistance to SO2 and NO over the tested concentration range of 0–500 ppm, with limited impact on CO2 capture. After 8 cyclic adsorption/regeneration experiments, the CO2 adsorption capacities of the sorbents almost are constant when compared to the first cycle performance.
Breakthrough analysis on selective adsorption of CO2 from biogas by polyethylenimine-impregnated resins

Abstract:Polymer resin-based solid amine are prospective adsorbents used in removing CO 2 from biogas. Two commercial resins with different porous structures, AB-8 and ADS-17, were selected as supports to explore the influence of the support structures on adsorbent performance. It was discovered that macroporous channels greatly boost CO 2 adsorption at higher PEI loadings (≥ 30%), and their influence is more critical than total pore volume or specific surface area, though their impact is minimal at low PEI loadings. ADS-17-40% PEI demonstrated outstanding CO 2 adsorption of 208 mg·g −1 in its 16th cycle under specific operating conditions. Increasing gas flow rate to 200 mL·min −1 could promote CO 2 adsorption capacity and initial adsorption rate constant ( k 0 ) calculated by the deactivation model. The highest adsorption capacity was achieved at 55 °C, when the temperature ranged from 25 to 90 °C.

Facile Preparation, Characterization and CO2 Adsorption Performance of "Dry Amine" Adsorbents

Abstract:Polyethylenimine (PEI) was dispersed on hydrophobic silica nanoparticles by high-speed stirring and the obtained adsorbent was named as "dry amine" adsorbent. The prepared adsorbent was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nitrogen adsorption/desorption and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results show that CO2 uptake increases first and then decreases with the increase of PEI loading. The maximum adsorption capacity (3.00 mmol·g-1) is obtained at 50%(wt) PEI loading at the optimal temperature of 90℃. The 50PEI/SBA-15 adsorbent prepared with high-speed stirring shows a relatively low CO2 adsorption capacity (2.38 mmol·g-1). Moreover, the PEI/SiO2 adsorbent shows good regenerability.

Abstract:Polyethylenimine (PEI)-impregnated resins with high CO2 adsorption capacity were successfully prepared in this study. The nonpolar resin HP20 was suitable for PEI loading to achieve high CO2 adsorption, and the optimal PEI loading was 50 wt %. On the basis of the pore-size distribution of the resin before and after PEI modification, it can be found that mesopores of <43 nm were mainly responsible for PEI loading and pores in the range of 43-68 nm were probably favorable for CO2 diffusion. The adsorbed amount of CO2 on HP20/PEI-50 decreased with increasing adsorption temperature because of the dominant role of exothermic reaction of CO2 adsorption. The adsorption of CO2 on the adsorbent was very fast, and sorption equilibrium was achieved within 6 min at 75 °C. HP20/PEI-50 almost kept a stable adsorption capacity for CO2 at concentrations of 15 vol % and 400 ppm in the consecutive adsorption-desorption cycles, and its adsorption capacity was 181 mg/g from pure CO2 and 99.3 mg/g from 400 ppm CO2 at 25 °C, higher than all PEI-modified materials reported. The high volume-based amount of CO2 adsorbed on HP20/PEI-50 (96.0 mg/cm(3) at 25 °C and 84.5 mg/cm(3) at 75 °C for pure CO2) is beneficial to reducing the required volume of the adsorption bed for CO2 capture. This spherical and stable HP20/PEI-50 adsorbent with high and fast CO2 adsorption exhibits a very promising application in CO2 capture from flue gas and ambient air.
Adsorption Separation of CO2/CH4 from Landfill Gas by Ethanolamine-Modified Silica Gel

Abstract:The utilization of landfill gas from municipal waste landfills has become a hot research topic. The separation and purification of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) from landfill gas has attracted widespread attention. In this study, ethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), and diethylenetriamine (DETA) were used to modify silica gel to improve the adsorption separation performance of silica gel for CO2/CH4. The results showed that the improvement in CO2/CH4 separation performance by different organic amines followed the order of MEA > DEA > DETA. That is, the most effective modification was achieved by MEA. The adsorption of CO2 onto MEA-modified silica gel was 84.83% higher than that on unmodified silica gel. The effect of MEA concentration on the adsorption separation of CO2/CH4 was also studied. When the ratio of MEA to methanol was 1:6, the saturated CO2 adsorption capacity of the modified silica gel reached 3.90 mmol/g, which was 84.83% higher than that of the unmodified silica gel. These conditions yielded the best CO2/CH4 separation performance. The corresponding separation ratio was 8.51, which was 6.25% higher than that of the unmodified silica gel under the same conditions.
Sponge-like polyethyleneimine adsorbents with interconnected open channels enabling ultra-high CO 2 adsorption and separation capacity

Abstract:A novel solid amine adsorbent with interconnect open-cell porous structure was successfully synthesized by crosslinking polyethyleneimine (PEI) with ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether (EGDE) via high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) polymerization. The preparation conditions were optimized. The adsorption performance of the prepared adsorbent for CO 2 was evaluated by fixed bed dynamic adsorption experiment. The results indicated that the optimal adsorbent PEI70K-E-HIPE-8 exhibited a record high CO 2 adsorption capacity of 14.22 mmol/g, amine efficiency of 83% and ratio of breakthrough capacity to equilibrium capacity of 0.92 (abbreviated as Q b /Q e ratio). Both adsorption capacity and adsorption kinetics are much better than those of PEI70K-E-gel-8 prepared without using HIPE template. The adsorbent also showed good CO 2 /CH 4 separation performance, a CH 4 productivity of 54.84 mmol/g could be obtained while using PEI70K-E-HIPE-8 to separated it from a 20 mL CO 2 /CH 4 (20:80, v:v) mixed gas, remarkably higher than that of PEI70K-E-gel-8 (0.28 mmol/g). PEI70K-E-HIPE-8 could keep a stable adsorption and separation performance after at lease 15 adsorption-desorption cycles. The superior CO 2 adsorption capacity and adsorption kinetics make it a promising candidate in practical CO 2 adsorption and CO 2 /CH 4 separation application.

Abstract:Adsorbents for CO2 captured with nano silica as support were synthesized by impregnating polyethyleneimine (PEI) into nano silica. For impregnation of PEI into nano silica, the 2-40 nm pore of silica support plays an important role in the synthesis process of adsorbents. The PEI loading content, adsorption temperature and CO2 partial pressure influenced CO2 adsorption capacity and PEI utilization efficiency. At 105 degrees C and under 1 atm CO2 partial pressure, the adsorbent with 60% PEI loading content obtained a CO2 adsorption capacity of 186 mg g(-1) adsorbent and a PEI utilization efficiency of 304 mg g(-1) PEI. The CO2 cycling adsorption-desorption was tested under the condition as follows: adsorption at 90 or 105 degrees C under pure CO(2)and desorption at 120 degrees C under pure N-2 showed relatively good adsorption-desorption stability, and no evident deactivation of amines was observed under this condition. However, for adsorption at 90 or 105 degrees C under pure CO2 and desorption at 135 or 150 degrees C under pure CO2, evident deactivation of amines occurred, and the formation of linear or cyclic urea is one reason which led to the decrease of CO2 adsorption capacity.
A surfactant modified solid amine adsorbent to enhance CO 2 adsorption performance

Abstract:Solid-amine adsorbents are promising CO 2 post-combustion adsorption materials to mitigate global warming. As one of the most important evaluation criteria, the CO 2 adsorption capacity of the adsorbent was determined by both kinetic and thermodynamic factors, while high temperature is good for mass transfer and low temperature is advantageous for equilibrium to move towards adsorption. In this study, surfactants were added into polyethylenimine (PEI) cryogel to enhance mass transfer and reduce the adsorption temperature, thereby promoting its adsorption capacity. With the addition of polyethylene glycol (PEG200), the CO 2 adsorption capacity reached a maximum value of 6.48 mmol/g at 65 °C, and the amine efficiency reached a maximum value of 0.52 mol C/mol N at 45 °C. Further characterization revealed that the addition of PEG not only enhanced the mass transfer, but also changed the chemisorption mechanisms, which were very similar to the effects of water. Besides, PEG would form hydrogen bonds with the PEI polymer network and showed stable regeneration capacity, thereby exhibiting a greater application potential.

Abstract:In this study, a series of hybrid adsorbent materials (AC@mPEI) with superior selective separation properties of H 2 S and CO 2 are prepared by taking advantage of the differences in reaction mechanisms between H 2 S and CO 2 , as well as tertiary amines. Using a straightforward impregnation method, the methylated polyethyleneimine (mPEI) is successfully introduced into the pores of the porous carbon to create the desired hybrid adsorbents. The strong interaction between the tertiary amine groups and H 2 S facilitates the selective separation of H 2 S and CO 2 gases. Remarkably, the adsorbent (1:1)AC@mPEI exhibits a substantial H 2 S adsorption capacity of 5.83 mmol·g −1 at 298 K and 1.0 bar and a high separation selectivity of H 2 S to CO 2 (1 3 3), which is approximately 16.6 times higher than that of the porous carbon supporter. Further investigations, involving adsorption thermodynamics, breakthrough experiments, and spectroscopy, confirm that the strong interaction between the hybrid materials and H 2 S plays a pivotal role in enhancing the separation selectivity of H 2 S. Additionally, the adsorbed H 2 S can be well desorbed through vacuum degassing, allowing for multiple cycles of the adsorbent. This strategy, which leverages differences in gas adsorption mechanisms to fabricate hybrid adsorbents, presents novel concepts for the development of functional adsorbent materials for selective separation of gases.

Abstract:Hyperbranched solid amine was prepared with KIT-6 type mesoporous silica,which was modified by tetraethylenepentamine(TEPA)using post-synthetic impregnation.The adsorption behavior of CO2 on KIT-6(TEPA)was investigated using an adsorption column.The adsorption capacity of KIT-6(TEPA)for CO2 increased with temperature at 303—343 K,but decreased as temperature increased at 343—353 K.The maximum adsorption capacity is 3.1 mmol g-1 at 343 K.The mechanism of CO2 adsorption on KIT-6(TEPA)is mainly chemical adsorption.The adsorption capacity is improved by moisture.It reaches 3.5 mmol·g-1 in the presence of 12% water.The adsorption capacity is maintained after 20 cycles of adsorption and regeneration,indicating that the KIT-6(TEPA)is stable in a prolonged cyclic operation.Experimental breakthrough curves are fitted with a deactivation model,giving good agreement with experimental data.

Abstract:Solid amine adsorbents are showing promise as effective adsorbents for the capture of CO 2 from various gas mixtures, including biogas and flue exhaust gas. In this study, we introduced a co-grafting strategy using 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) on the surface of P(DVB-D). This approach aimed to exploit the reaction involving the opening of epoxy groups with amine groups, forming covalent bonds between polyethyleneimine (PEI) and mesoporous organic polymers, along with the introduction of hydroxy groups to enhance adsorbent long-term stability and antioxidation ability. After an extensive assessment, P(DVB-D)@B-41.2 %PEI exhibited a maximum CO 2 capture capacity of 4.53 mmol/g at 50 °C and 50 % RH. Notably, its remarkable CO 2 adsorption performance persisted across a diverse temperature spectrum (30–90 °C) and an extensive concentration span (5–30 % vol.). In contrast to conventional adsorbents prepared solely through impregnation methods, P(DVB-D)@B-41.2 %PEI exhibited impressive long-term stability throughout 50 successive cycles and excellent resistance to oxidative degradation. These findings underscore the considerable potential of P(DVB-D)@B-41.2 %PEI in the realm of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology.

Abstract:CO2 capture using amine based porous solids is one of the promising fields that has received tremendous research interest. Owing to high CO2 capture performance, fast uptake kinetics and easy regeneration, CO2 capture using amine-based sorbents is extensively studied. Herein, polyethyleneimine (PEI) based sorbents were developed using pseudoboehmite (PSB) and gamma alumina (γ-Al2O3) as supports, represented as PEI@PSB and PEI@γ-Al2O3, respectively. The dispersion, morphology and dynamics of PEI on porous support play key roles in the CO2 capture performance of the adsorbent. Here, the dispersion of PEI in the adsorbent is tuned by varying the nature of acidity in the support. The acid-base interaction between the PEI and the support enhances the dispersion in the adsorbent. It was observed that PEI@PSB with enhanced Brønsted acidic sites showed excellent PEI dispersion and consequently showed superior CO2 uptake performance compared to PEI@γ-Al2O3. The in-situ IR analysis majorly shows the formation of ammonium carbamates and negligible carbamic acid confirming well dispersed PEI on PSB support. Among the series of adsorbents, 25% PEI@PSB exhibited the highest CO2 uptake performance of 4.9 mmol CO2/g of the sorbent. The nitrogen sorption analysis revealed that 25 wt% of PEI is the loading optimum to retain porosity in the material facilitating better CO2 uptake. The long-term stability and regeneration studies confirmed PEI@PSB adsorbent was robust and could retain the similar adsorbent capacity up to 100 recycles.

Abstract:Solid amine adsorbents have attracted much attention as a promising alternative to amine scrubbing. However, there have been few studies systematically comparing the differences between adsorbents modified with macromolecular amines and small molecular amines. This study selected polyethyleneimine (PEI) and diethylenetriamine (DETA) to impregnate into SBA-15 and set amine types (PEI and DETA), amine loadings (0%-50%), and temperatures (20-120 degrees C) as parameters, trying to provide advice for amine selection and practical application. The adsorbents modified with DETA had higher amine dispersion, while the adsorbents modified with PEI performed better at thermal stability, adsorption capacity, and adsorption kinetics. SBA-15 modified with 50% PEI could reach a CO2 uptake of 182.11 mg/g and an amine efficiency of 0.353. It also presented superior adsorption kinetics with a peak adsorption rate of 350 mg/(g . min) and could reach 90% CO2 adsorption capacity in 5 min, which controlled the activation energy below 7 kJ/mol. What's more, the modified adsorbent had excellent cyclic stability, showing only 6.14% decay after 30 cycles. The double-exponential model was also investigated to explain the inherent properties. The 50%-PEI-modified SBA-15 proved to be a promising and efficient solid adsorbent for CO2 capture.
