Abstract:This paper studies nonassociative filtered rings using associated gradations. We show that a complete filtered ring $R$ with affine associated graded ring generated in degree $1$ is a local ring, and prove that the Artin--Rees lemma holds for $R$. Assuming finiteness of the residue field, we derive asymptotics for abelian groups with an operation of $R$, and identify classes of torsion elements for spaces over a central extension of $R$.

Abstract:We prove a differential analogue of Hilbert's irreducibility theorem. Let $\mathcal{L}$ be a linear differential operator with coefficients in $C(\mathbb{X})(x)$ that is irreducible over $\overline{C(\mathbb{X})}(x)$, where $\mathbb{X}$ is an irreducible affine algebraic variety over an algebraically closed field $C$ of characteristic zero. We show that the set of $c\in \mathbb{X}(C)$ such that the specialized operator $\mathcal{L}^c$ of $\mathcal{L}$ remains irreducible over $C(x)$ is Zariski dense in $\mathbb{X}(C)$.

Abstract:We find identities involving differential operators in the generic artinian reduction of the Stanley-Reisner ring of a simplicial sphere in any positive characteristic. These identities generalize the characteristic 2 identities used by Papadakis and Petrotou to give a proof of the algebraic g-conjecture. We use these identities to prove the anisotropy of certain forms on the generic artinian reduction of the Stanley-Reisner ring and to prove weak Lefschetz results.

Abstract:We study noncommutative rings whose proper subrings all satisfy the same chain condition. We show that if every proper subring of a ring $R$ is right Noetherian, then $R$ is either right Noetherian or the trivial extension of $\mathbb{Z}$ by the Pr\"ufer $p$-group for a prime $p$. We also prove that if every proper subring of $R$ is right Artinian, then $R$ is either right Artinian or $\mathbb{Z}$. For commutative rings, both results were proved by Gilmer and Heinzer in 1992. Our result for right Artinian subrings only generalises the absolute case of their commutative result. We generalise the full result (when only certain subrings are right Artinian) in the context of PI rings.

Abstract:In this paper, we study Artinian and Noetherian properties in vector lattices and provide a concrete representation of these spaces. Furthermore, we describe for which Archimedean uniformly complete vector lattices every decreasing sequence of prime ideals is stationary (a property that we refer to as prime Artinian). We also completely characterize the prime ideals in vector lattices of continuous root functions and piecewise polynomials. This is a useful space for studying how having decreasing stationary sequences of prime ideals does not imply having increasing stationary sequences of prime ideals, and vice versa.

Abstract:Let $E$ be a module of projective dimension one over a Noetherian ring $R$ and consider its Rees algebra $\mathcal{R}(E)$. We study this ring as a quotient of the symmetric algebra $\mathcal{S}(E)$ and consider the ideal $\mathcal{A}$ defining this quotient. In the case that $\mathcal{S}(E)$ is a complete intersection ring, we employ a duality between $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{S}(E)$ in order to study the Rees ring $\mathcal{R}(E)$ in multiple settings. In particular, when $R$ is a complete intersection ring defined by quadrics, we consider its module of Kähler differentials $\Omega_{R/k}$ and its associated tangent algebras.

Abstract:First, we prove an algebraization result for rig-smooth algebras over a general noetherian ring; this positively answers the question raised in [Sta24, Tag 0GAX]. Then we prove a general partial algebraization result in non-archimedean geometry. The result says that we can always algebraize a geometrically reduced affinoid rigid-analytic space in "one direction" in an appropriate sense. As an application of this result, we show the remaining cases of the Artin-Grothendieck Vanishing for affinoid algebras, which were previously conjectured in [BM21, §7]. This allows us to deduce a stronger version of the rigid-analytic Artin-Grothendieck Vanishing Conjecture (see [Han20, Conj. 1.2]) over a field of characteristic 0. Using a completely different set of ideas, we also obtain a weaker version of this conjecture over a field of characteristic p>0.

Abstract:We construct Rankin-Cohen type differential operators on Hermitian modular forms of signature $(n,n)$. The bilinear differential operators given here specialize to the original Rankin-Cohen operators in the case $n=1$, and more generally satisfy some analogous properties, including uniqueness. Our approach builds on previous work by Eholzer-Ibukiyama in the case of Siegel modular forms, together with results of Kashiwara-Vergne on the representation theory of unitary groups.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. An $R$-module $M$ is said to be a uniformly $S$-Artinian ($u$-$S$-Artinian for abbreviation) module if there is $s\in S$ such that any descending chain of submodules of $M$ is $S$-stationary with respect to $s$. $u$-$S$-Artinian modules are characterized in terms of ($S$-MIN)-conditions and $u$-$S$-cofinite properties. We call a ring $R$ is a $u$-$S$-Artinian ring if $R$ itself is a $u$-$S$-Artinian module, and then show that any $u$-$S$-semisimple ring is $u$-$S$-Artinian. It is proved that a ring $R$ is $u$-$S$-Artinian if and only if $R$ is $u$-$S$-Noetherian, the $u$-$S$-Jacobson radical ${\rm Jac}_S(R)$ of $R$ is $S$-nilpotent and $R/{\rm Jac}_S(R)$ is a $u$-$S/{\rm Jac}_S(R)$-semisimple ring. Besides, some examples are given to distinguish Artinian rings, $u$-$S$-Artinian rings and $S$-Artinian rings.

Abstract:Noetherian rings have played a fundamental role in commutative algebra, algebraic number theory, and algebraic geometry. Along with their dual, Artinian rings, they have many generalizations, including the notions of isonoetherian and isoartinian rings. In this paper, we prove that the Krull dimension of every isoartinian ring is at most one. We then use this result to provide a characterization of isoartinian rings. Specifically, we prove that a ring $R$ is isoartinian if and only if $R$ is uniquely isomorphic to the direct product of a finite number of rings of the following types: (i) Artinian local rings; (ii) non-Noetherian isoartinian local rings with a nilpotent maximal ideal; (iii) non-field principal ideal domains; (iv) Noetherian isoartinian rings $A$ with $\Min A$ being a singleton and $\Min A \subsetneq \Ass A$; (v) non-Noetherian isoartinian rings $A$ with $\Min A$ being a singleton and $\Min A \subsetneq \Ass A$; (vi) non-Noetherian isoartinian rings $A$ with a unique element in $\Min A$ that is not maximal, and $\Min A=\Ass A$. Several examples of these types of rings are also provided.

Abstract:Let A ⊆ B be an extension of commutative rings with identity, ( S , ≤ ) a nonzero strictly ordered monoid, and S * = S \ { 0 } . Let A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 = { f ∈ 〚 B S , ≤ 〛 ∣ f ( 0 ) ∈ A } . In this study, we determine when the ring A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring. We prove that when S is a strict monoid, if A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring, then A is a Noetherian ring, B is a finitely generated A -module, and S is finitely generated. We also show that if B is a finitely generated A -module over a Noetherian ring A and ( S , ≤ ) is a positive strictly ordered monoid, which is finitely generated, then A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. Then $R$ is called a uniformly $S$-Noetherian ($u$-$S$-Noetherian for abbreviation) ring provided there exists an element $s\in S$ such that for any ideal $I$ of $R$, $sI \subseteq K$ for some finitely generated sub-ideal $K$ of $I$. We give the Eakin-Nagata-Formanek Theorem for $u$-$S$-Noetherian rings. Besides, the $u$-$S$-Noetherian properties on several ring constructions are given. The notion of $u$-$S$-injective modules is also introduced and studied. Finally, we obtain the Cartan-Eilenberg-Bass Theorem for uniformly $S$-Noetherian rings.

Abstract:In the present paper we continue the project of systematic construction of invariant differential operators on the example of the non-compact algebras $sp(n,1)$. Our choice of these algebras is motivated by the fact that they belong to a narrow class of algebras, which are of split rank one, of which class the other cases were studied, some long time ago. We concentrate on the case $n=2$. We give the main multiplets and the main reduced multiplets of indecomposable elementary representations for, including the necessary data for all relevant invariant differential operators. We also present explicit expressions for the singular vectors and for the intertwining differential operators.
