Abstract:In this note we give a simple proof of the fact that local rings of dimension one have the strong uniform Artin-Rees property. Moreover, we give two examples of rings of dimension two where the property fails.

Abstract:Let A=⊕i=0cAi be a graded Artinian K-algebra, where Ac≠(0) and charK=0. (The grading may not necessarily be standard.) Then A has the strong Lefschetz property if there exists an element g∈A1 such that the multiplication ×gc−2i:Ai→Ac−i is bijective for every i=0,1,…,[c/2]. The main results obtained in this paper are as follows:1.A has the strong Lefschetz property if and only if there is a linear form z∈A1 such that Gr(z)(A) has the strong Lefschetz property.2.If A is Gorenstein, then A has the strong Lefschetz property if and only if there is a linear form z∈A such that all central simple modules of (A,z) have the strong Lefschetz property.3.A finite free extension of an Artinian K-algebra with the strong Lefschetz property has the strong Lefschetz property if the fiber does.4.The complete intersection defined by power sums of consecutive degrees has the strong Lefschetz property.

Abstract:We introduce a method for studying the Lefschetz properties for $k[x,y]$-modules based on the Lindström-Gessel-Viennot Lemma. In particular, we prove that certain modules over Artinian Clements-Lindström rings in characteristic zero have the strong Lefschetz property. In particular, we show that every homogeneous idea in a Clements-Lindström ring of embedding dimension two has the strong Lefschetz property. As an application, we study the strong Lefschetz property of type two monomial ideals of codimension three.

Abstract:Let $\pmb k$ be an arbitrary field and $A$ be a standard graded Artinian Gorenstein $\pmb k$-algebra of embedding dimension four and socle degree three. Then, except for exactly one exception, $A$ has the weak Lefschetz property. Furthermore, the exception occurs only in characteristic two.

Abstract:This paper studies nonassociative filtered rings using associated gradations. We show that a complete filtered ring $R$ with affine associated graded ring generated in degree $1$ is a local ring, and prove that the Artin--Rees lemma holds for $R$. Assuming finiteness of the residue field, we derive asymptotics for abelian groups with an operation of $R$, and identify classes of torsion elements for spaces over a central extension of $R$.

Abstract:We prove using a novel random matrix model that all right-angled Artin groups have a sequence of finite dimensional unitary representations that strongly converge to the regular representation. We deduce that this result applies also to: the fundamental group of a closed hyperbolic manifold that is either three dimensional or standard arithmetic type, any Coxeter group, and any word-hyperbolic cubulated group. One strong consequence of these results is that any closed hyperbolic three-manifold has a sequence of finite dimensional flat Hermitian vector bundles with bottom of the spectrum of the Laplacian asymptotically at least 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the notion of the strong Rees property (SRP) for $\mathfrak{m}$-primary ideals of a Noetherian local ring and prove that any power of the maximal ideal $\mathfrak{m}$ has its property if the associated graded ring $G$ of $\mathfrak{m}$ satisfies $\text{depth} \ G \ge 2$. As its application, we characterize two-dimensional excellent normal local domains so that $\mathfrak{m}$ is a $p_g$-ideal. Finally we ask what $\mathfrak{m}$-primary ideals have SRP and state a conjecture which characterizes the case when $\mathfrak{m}^n$ are the only ideals which have SRP.

Abstract:In 1978, Stanley constructed an example of an Artinian Gorenstein (AG) ring $A$ with non-unimodal $H$-vector $(1,13,12,13,1)$. Migliore-Zanello later showed that for regularity $r=4$, Stanley's example has the smallest possible codimension $c$ for an AG ring with non-unimodal $H$-vector. The weak Lefschetz property (WLP) has been much studied for AG rings; it is easy to show that an AG ring with non-unimodal $H$-vector fails to have WLP. In codimension $c=3$ it is conjectured that all AG rings have WLP. For $c=4$, Gondim showed that WLP always holds for $r \le 4$ and gives a family where WLP fails for any $r \ge 7$, building on an earlier example of Ikeda of failure of WLP for $r=5$. In this note we study the minimal free resolution of $A$ and relation to Lefschetz properties (both weak and strong) and Jordan type for $c=4$ and $r \le 6$.

Abstract:We consider Artinian level algebras arising from the whiskering of a graph. Employing a result by Dao-Nair we show that multiplication by a general linear form has maximal rank in degrees 1 and $n-1$ when the characteristic is not two, where $n$ is the number of vertices in the graph. Moreover, the multiplication is injective in degrees $<n/2$ when the characteristic is zero, following a proof by Hausel. Our result in the characteristic zero case is optimal in the sense that there are whiskered graphs for which the multiplication maps in all intermediate degrees $n/2,\ldots,n-2$ of the associated Artinian algebras fail to have maximal rank, and consequently, the weak Lefschetz property.

Abstract:First, we prove an algebraization result for rig-smooth algebras over a general noetherian ring; this positively answers the question raised in [Sta24, Tag 0GAX]. Then we prove a general partial algebraization result in non-archimedean geometry. The result says that we can always algebraize a geometrically reduced affinoid rigid-analytic space in "one direction" in an appropriate sense. As an application of this result, we show the remaining cases of the Artin-Grothendieck Vanishing for affinoid algebras, which were previously conjectured in [BM21, §7]. This allows us to deduce a stronger version of the rigid-analytic Artin-Grothendieck Vanishing Conjecture (see [Han20, Conj. 1.2]) over a field of characteristic 0. Using a completely different set of ideas, we also obtain a weaker version of this conjecture over a field of characteristic p>0.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that R is a two-sided Artinian ring and J is a right annihilator ideal if and only if (i) for any nonzero right module, there is a nonzero linear map from it to a projective module; (ii) every submodule of R R is not a radical module for some right coherent rings. We call a ring a right X ring if Hom R ( M, R ) = 0 for any right module M implies that M = 0. We can prove some left Goldie and right X rings are right Artinian rings. Moreover we characterize semisimple rings by using X rings. A famous Faith’s conjecture is whether a semipimary PF ring is a QF ring. Similarly we study the relationship between X rings and QF and get many interesting results.

Abstract:Given a base field $\Bbbk$ of characteristic zero, for each graph $G$, we associate the artinian algebra $A(G)$ defined by the edge ideal of $G$ and the squares of the variables. We study the weak Lefschetz property of $A(G)$. We classify some classes of graphs with relatively few edges, including paths and cycles, such that its associated artinian ring has the weak Lefschetz property.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring with unity. The prime ideal sum graph of the ring $R$ is the simple undirected graph whose vertex set is the set of all nonzero proper ideals of $R$ and two distinct vertices $I$ and $J$ are adjacent if and only if $I + J$ is a prime ideal of $R$. In this paper, we obtain the strong metric dimension of the prime ideal sum graph for various classes of Artinian non-local commutative rings.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of strongly alpha-reversible rings which is a strong version of alpha-reversible rings, and investigate its properties. We first give an example to show that strongly reversible rings need not be strongly alpha-reversible. We next argue about the strong alpha-reversibility of some kinds of extensions. A number of properties of this version are established. It is shown that a ring R is strongly right alpha-reversible if and only if its polynomial ring R[x] is strongly right alpha-reversible if and only if its Laurent polynomial ring R[x, x(-1)] is strongly right alpha-reversible. Moreover, we introduce the concept of Nil-alpha-reversible rings to investigate the nilpotent elements in alpha-reversible rings. Examples are given to show that right Nil-alpha-reversible rings need not be right alpha-reversible.
