Abstract:Freezing sets and cold sets have been introduced as part of the theory of fixed points in digital topology. In this paper, we introduce a generalization of these notions, the limiting set, and examine properties of limiting sets.

Abstract:We continue the study of freezing sets in digital topology, introduced in [2]. We show how to find a minimal freezing set for a "thick" convex disk X in the digital plane Z^2. We give examples showing the significance of the assumption that X is convex.

Abstract:We continue the work of [10], studying properties of digital images determined by fixed point invariants. We introduce pointed versions of invariants that were introduced in [10]. We introduce freezing sets and cold sets to show how the existence of a fixed point set for a continuous self-map restricts the map on the complement of the fixed point set.

Abstract:We develop new tools for the construction of fixed point sets in digital topology. We define excludable points and show that these may be excluded from all freezing sets. We show that articulation points are excludable. We also present results concerning points that must belong to a freezing set and often are easily recognized. These include points of degree~1 and some local extrema.

Abstract:In this article, we develop the basic theory of digital topological groups. The basic definitions directly lead to two separate categories, based on the details of the continuity required of the group multiplication. We define $\NP_1$- and $\NP_2$-digital topological groups, and investigate their properties and algebraic structure. The $\NP_2$ category is very restrictive, and we give a complete classification of $\NP_2$-digital topological groups. We also give many examples of $\NP_1$-digital topological groups. We define digital topological group homomorphisms, and describe the digital counterpart of the first isomorphism theorem.

Abstract:We present an abstract framework for asymptotic analysis of convergence based on the notions of eventual families of sets that we define. A family of subsets of a given set is called here an "eventual family" if it is upper hereditary with respect to inclusion. We define accumulation points of eventual families in a Hausdorff Topological space and define the "image family" of an eventual family. Focusing on eventual families in the set of the integers enables us to talk about sequences of points. We expand our work to the notion of a "multiset" which is a modification of the concept of a set that allows for multiple instances of its elements and enable the development of "multifamilies" which are either "increasing" or "decreasing". The abstract structure created here is motivated by, and feeds back to, our look at the convergence analysis of an iterative process for asymptotically finding a common fixed point of a family of operators.
