Abstract:Cone and suspension constructions have been introduced in digital topology, modeled on those of classical topology. For digital cones and suspensions, and for some related digital images, we find (m, n)-limiting sets; especially (0, 0)-limiting (freezing) sets.

Abstract:We continue the study of freezing sets in digital topology, introduced in [2]. We show how to find a minimal freezing set for a "thick" convex disk X in the digital plane Z^2. We give examples showing the significance of the assumption that X is convex.

Abstract:We continue the study of freezing sets for digital images introduced in [4, 2, 3]. We prove methods for obtaining freezing sets for digital images (X, c_i) for X \subset Z^2 and i \in {1, 2}. We give examples to show how these methods can lead to the determination of minimal freezing sets.

Abstract:We develop new tools for the construction of fixed point sets in digital topology. We define excludable points and show that these may be excluded from all freezing sets. We show that articulation points are excludable. We also present results concerning points that must belong to a freezing set and often are easily recognized. These include points of degree~1 and some local extrema.

Abstract:A discrete d-manifold is a finite simple graph G=(V,E) where all unit spheres are (d-1)-spheres. A d-sphere is a d-manifold for which one can remove a vertex to make it contractible. A graph is contractible if one can remove a vertex with contractible unit sphere to get a contractible graph. We prove a discrete Morse-Sard theorem: if G=(V,E) is a d-manifold and f:V to R^k an arbitrary map, then for any c not in f(V), a level set { f = c } is always a (d-k)-manifold or empty. While a priori open sets in the simplicial complex of G, they are sub-manifolds in the Barycentric refinement of G. Level sets are orientable if G is orientable. Any complex-valued function psi on a discrete 4-manifold M defines so level surfaces {psi=c} which are except for c in f(V) always 2-manifolds or empty.

Abstract:We show that for a strongly convergent sequence of geometrically finite Kleinian groups with geometrically finite limit, the Cannon-Thurston maps of limit sets converge uniformly. If however the algebraic and geometric limits differ, as in the well known examples due to Kerckhoff and Thurston, then provided the geometric limit is geometrically finite, the maps of limit sets converge pointwise but not uniformly.

Abstract:The theory of limits of discrete combinatorial objects has been thriving for the last decade or so. The syntactic, algebraic approach to the subject is popularly known as 'flag algebras', while the semantic, geometric approach is often associated with the name 'graph limits'. The language of graph limits is generally more intuitive and expressible, but a price that one has to pay for it is that it is better suited for the case of ordinary graphs than for more general combinatorial objects. Accordingly, there have been several attempts in the literature, of varying degree of generality, to define limit objects for more complicated combinatorial structures. This paper is another attempt at a workable general theory of dense limit objects. Unlike previous efforts in this direction (with the notable exception of [5] by Aroskar and Cummings), our account is based on the same concepts from first-order logic and model theory as in the theory of flag algebras. It is shown how our definitions naturally encompass a host of previously considered cases (graphons, hypergraphons, digraphons, permutons, posetons, coloured graphs, and so on), and the fundamental properties of existence and uniqueness are extended to this more general case. Also given is an intuitive general proof of the continuous version of the Induced Removal Lemma based on the compactness theorem for propositional calculus. Use is made of the notion of open interpretation that often allows one to transfer methods and results from one situation to another. Again, it is shown that some previous arguments can be quite naturally framed using this language. Bibliography: 68 titles.

Abstract:In this paper, we show how to construct graph theoretical models of n-dimensional continuous objects and manifolds. These models retain topological properties of their continuous counterparts. An LCL collection of n-cells in Euclidean space is introduced and investigated. If an LCL collection of n-cells is a cover of a continuous n-dimensional manifold then the intersection graph of this cover is a digital closed n-dimensional manifold with the same topology as its continuous counterpart. As an example, we prove that the digital model of a continuous n-dimensional sphere is a digital n-sphere with at least 2n+2 points, the digital model of a continuous projective plane is a digital projective plane with at least eleven points, the digital model of a continuous Klein bottle is the digital Klein bottle with at least sixteen points, the digital model of a continuous torus is the digital torus with at least sixteen points and the digital model of a continuous Moebius band is the digital Moebius band with at least twelve points.

Abstract:Using the methods from topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notion of a central set and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem. Later D. De, Neil Hindman, and D. Strauss [Fund. Math.199 (2008), 155-175.] established a stronger version of the Central Sets Theorem and then introduced the notion of $C$-sets satisfying the Central Sets Theorem and studied the properties of these sets. For any weak mixing system $\left(X, \mathcal{B},\mu, T\right),$ and $A_{0},A_{1}\in\mathcal{B}$, with $\mu\left(A_{0}\right)\mu\left(A_{1}\right)>0$, R. Kung and <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://X.Ye" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> [Disc. Cont. Dyn. sys., 18 (2007) 817-827.] proved that the set $N\left(A,B\right)= \left\{n:\mu\left(A_{0}\cap T^{-n}A_{1}\right)>0\right\}$ intersects all sets of positive upper Banach density. However, later N. Hindman and D. Strauss [New York J. Math. 26 (2020) 230-260.] proved that there exist $C$-sets having zero upper Banach density. Inspired by this result, in this article, we prove that $N\left(A, B \right)$ intersects with all $C$-sets. Then we introduce the notion of a dynamical $C^{\star}$-set and then we study their combinatorial properties.

Abstract:In the framework of digital topology, we study structural and topological properties of digital n-dimensional manifolds. We introduce the notion of simple connectedness of a digital space and prove that if M and N are homotopy equivalent digital spaces and M is simply connected, then so is N. We show that a simply connected digital 2-manifold is the digital 2-sphere and a simply connected digital 3-manifold is the digital 3-sphere. This property can be considered as a digital form of the Poincar\'e conjecture for continuous three-manifolds.

Abstract:We consider the question of continuity of limit sets for sequences of geometrically finite subgroups of isometry groups of rank-one symmetric spaces, and prove analogues of classical (Kleinian) theorems in this context. In particular we show that, assuming strong convergence of the sequence of subgroups, the limit sets vary continuously with respect to Hausdorff distance, and if the sequence is weakly type-preserving, the sequence of Cannon-Thurston maps also converges uniformly to a limiting Cannon-Thurston map. Our approach uses the theory of extended geometrically finite representations, developed recently by the second author.

Abstract:We develop a purely combinatorial theory of limit linear series on metric graphs. This will be based on the formalisms of hypercube rank functions and slope structures. We provide a full classification of combinatorial limit linear series of rank one, and discuss connections to other concepts in tropical algebra and combinatorial algebraic geometry.

Abstract:Under the relation of $0$-concordance, the set of knotted 2-spheres in $S^4$ forms a commutative monoid $\mathcal{M}_0$ with the operation of connected sum. Sunukjian has recently shown that $\mathcal{M}_0$ contains a submonoid isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}^{\ge 0}$. In this note, we show that $\mathcal{M}_0$ contains a submonoid isomorphic to $(\mathbb{Z}^{\ge 0})^\infty$. Our argument relates the $0$-concordance monoid to linear independence of certain Seifert solids in the (spin) rational homology cobordism group.

Abstract:We study cones of pseudoeffective cycles on the blow up of $({\mathbb P}^1)^n$ at points in very general position, proving some results concerning their structure. In particular we show that in some cases they turn out to be generated by exceptional classes and fiber classes relatively to the projections onto a smaller number of copies of projective lines.

Abstract:We study the hypergeometric group in ${\rm GL}_3(\mathbb{C})$ with parameters $\alpha = (\frac{1}{4}, \frac{1}{2}, \frac{3}{4})$ and $\beta = (0,0,0)$. We give a new proof that this group is isomorphic to the free product $\mathbb{Z}/4\mathbb{Z} * \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$ by exhibiting a ping-pong table. Our table is determined by a simplicial cone in $\mathbb{R}^3$, and we prove that this is the unique simplicial cone (up to sign) for which our construction produces a valid ping-pong table.
