Abstract:We present two different descriptions of positive partially transposed (PPT) states. One is based on the theory of positive maps while the second description provides a characterization of PPT states in terms of Hilbert space vectors. Our note is based on our previous results.

Abstract:Dr. Ron Knott constructed a graph of all Primitive Pythagorean Triples (PPTs) with legs up to length 10,000, using Mathematica. The patterns are very interesting, suggesting conic sections. We show that they indeed are parabolic curves which follow in a natural way from the mathematics of the subject matter.

Abstract:We prove power-saving bounds for general Kloosterman sums on $\operatorname{Sp}(4)$ associated to all Weyl elements via a stratification argument coupled with $p$-adic stationary phase methods. We relate these Kloosterman sums to the Fourier coefficients of $\operatorname{Sp}(4)$ Poincaré series.

Abstract:We report here on the results of numerical searches for PPT states with specified ranks for density matrices and their partial transpose. The study includes several bipartite quantum systems of low dimensions. For a series of ranks extremal PPT states are found. The results are listed in tables and charted in diagrams. Comparison of the results for systems of different dimensions reveal several regularities. We discuss lower and upper bounds on the ranks of extremal PPT states.

Abstract:In [7], Higashitani, Kummer, and Michałek pose a conjecture about the symmetric edge polytopes of complete multipartite graphs and confirm it for a number of families in the bipartite case. We confirm that conjecture for a number of new classes following the authors' methods and we present a more general result which suggests that the methods in their current form might not be enough to prove the conjecture in full generality.

Abstract:We investigate the order of the Tate--Shafarevich group of abelian varieties modulo rational squares. Our main result shows that every square-free natural number appears as the non square-free part of the Tate--Shafarevich group of some abelian variety, thereby validating a conjecture of W. Stein.

Abstract:In this paper we present the simplest individual level model of predator-prey dynamics and show, via direct calculation, that it exhibits cycling behavior. The deterministic analogue of our model, recovered when the number of individuals is infinitely large, is the Volterra system (with density-dependent prey reproduction) which is well-known to fail to predict cycles. This difference in behavior can be traced to a resonant amplification of demographic fluctuations which disappears only when the number of individuals is strictly infinite. Our results indicate that additional biological mechanisms, such as predator satiation, may not be necessary to explain observed predator-prey cycles in real (finite) populations.

Abstract:We introduce a version of the P=W conjecture relating the Borel-Moore homology of the stack of representations of the fundamental group of a genus g Riemann surface with the Borel-Moore homology of the stack of degree zero semistable Higgs bundles on a smooth projective complex curve of genus $g$. In order to state the conjecture we propose a construction of a canonical isomorphism between these Borel-Moore homology groups. We relate the stacky P=W conjecture with the original P=W conjecture concerning the cohomology of smooth moduli spaces of twisted objects, and the PI=WI conjecture concerning the intersection cohomology groups of singular moduli spaces of untwisted objects. In genus zero and one, we prove the conjectures that we introduce in this paper.

On the Boston's Unramified Fontaine-Mazur Conjecture

Abstract:This paper studies the Unramified Fontaine-Mazur Conjecture for $ p $-adic Galois representations and its generalizations. We prove some basic cases of the conjecture and provide some useful criterions for verifying it. In addition, we propose several different strategies to attack the conjecture and reduce it to some special cases. We also prove many new results of the conjecture in the two-dimensional case. Furthermore, we also study the unramified Galois deformation rings. Assuming the Unramified Fontaine-Mazur conjecture, we prove that the generic fiber of the unramified deformation ring is a finite direct product of fields. In particular, the unramified deformation ring has only finitely many $\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_{p}$-valued points. We also give some counterexamples to the so-called dimension conjecture for Galois deformation rings assuming the conjecture.

Abstract:In 2021, Dan Reznik made a YouTube video demonstrating that power circles of Poncelet triangles have an invariant total area. He made a simulation based on this observation and put forward a few conjectures. One of these conjectures suggests that the sum of the areas of three circles, each centered at the midpoint of a side of the Poncelet triangle and passing through the opposite vertex, remains constant. In this paper, we provide a proof of Reznik's conjecture and present a formula for calculating the total sum. Additionally, we demonstrate the algebraic structures formed by various sets of products and the geometric properties of polygons and ellipses created by these products.

Abstract:The Chow class of the closure of the torus orbit of a point in a Grassmannian only depends on the matroid associated to the point. The Chow class can be extended to a matroid invariant of arbitrary matroids. We call the coefficients appearing in the expansion of the Chow class in the Schubert basis the Schubert coefficients of the matroid. These Schubert coefficients are conjectured by Berget and Fink to be non-negative. We compute the Schubert coefficients for all sparse paving matroids, and confirm their non-negativity.

On Poincaré polynomials for plane curves with quasi-homogeneous singularities

Abstract:We define a combinatorial object that can be associated with any conic-line arrangement with ordinary quasi-homogeneous singularities, which we call the combinatorial Poincaré polynomial. We prove a Terao-type factorization statement on the splitting of such a polynomial over the rationals under the assumption that our conic-line arrangements are free. Then we focus on the so-called $d$-arrangements in the plane. In particular, we provide a combinatorial constraint for free $d$-arrangements admitting ordinary quasi-homogeneous singularities.
