Abstract:An arithmetical structure on a finite, connected graph without loops is an assignment of positive integers to the vertices that satisfies certain conditions. Associated to each of these is a finite abelian group known as its critical group. We show how to determine the critical group of an arithmetical structure on a star graph or complete graph in terms of the entries of the arithmetical structure. We use this to investigate which finite abelian groups can occur as critical groups of arithmetical structures on these graphs.

On the critical group of the k-partite graph

Abstract:The critical group of a connected graph is closely related to the graph Laplacian, and is of high research value in combinatorics, algebraic geometry, statistical physics, and several other areas of mathematics. In this paper, we study the k-partite graphs and introduce an algorithm to get the structure of their critical groups by calculating the Smith normal forms of their graph Laplacians. When k is from 2 to 6, we characterize the structure of the critical groups completely, which can generalize the results of the complete bipartite graphs.

Abstract:We prove that the group $C_p^4\times C_q$ is a DCI-group for distinct primes $p$ and $q$, that is, two Cayley digraphs over $C_p^4 \times C_q$ are isomorphic if and only if their connection sets are conjugate by a group automorphism.

Abstract:Given two graphs G1 and G2, the Ramsey number R(G1;G2)is the smallest integer N such that, for any graph G of order N, either G1 is a subgraph of G, or G2 is a subgraph of the complement of G. Let Cn denote a cycle of order n, Wn a wheel of order n+1 and Sn a star of order n. In this paper, it is shown that R(Wn;C4) = R(Sn+1;C4) for n ≥ 6. Based on this result and Parsons' results on R(Sn+1;C4), we establish the best possible general upper bound for R(Wn;C4) and determine some exact values for R(Wn;C4).

Abstract:In this paper we prove that the Torelli part of the symplectomorphism groups of the $n$-point ($n\leq 4$) blow-ups of the projective plane is trivial. Consequently, we determine the symplectic mapping class group. It is generated by reflections on $K_{\omega}- $spherical class with zero $\omega$ area.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a finite, connected, simple graph. The critical group $K(G)$, also known as the sandpile group, is the torsion subgroup of the cokernel of the graph Laplacian $\operatorname{cok}(L)$. We investigate a family of graphs with relatively simple non-cyclic critical group with an end goal of understanding whether multiple divisors, i.e., formal linear combinations of vertices of $G$, generate $K(G)$. These graphs, referred to as hinge graphs, can be intuitively understood by taking multiple base shapes and ``gluing" them together by a single shared edge and two corresponding shared vertices. In the case where all base shapes are identical, we compute the explicit structure of the critical group. Additionally, we compute the order of three special divisors. We prove the structure of the critical group of hinge graphs when variance in the number of vertices of each base shape is allowed, generalizing many of the aforementioned results.

Abstract:This work applies the modular reduction technique to the Coxeter group of rank 4 having a star diagram with labels 5, 3, and $k = 3, 4, 5, \text{ or } 6$. As moduli, we use the primes in the quadratic integer ring $\mathbb{Z}[\tau]$, where $\tau = \frac{1 + \sqrt{5}}{2}$, the golden ratio. We prove that each reduced group is a C-group, regardless of the prime used in the reduction. We also classify each reduced group as a reflection group over a finite field, whenever applicable.

Abstract:A \emph{group distance magic labeling} or a $\gr$-distance magic labeling of a graph $G(V,E)$ with $|V | = n$ is an injection $f$ from $V$ to an Abelian group $\gr$ of order $n$ such that the weight $w(x)=\sum_{y\in N_G(x)}f(y)$ of every vertex $x \in V$ is equal to the same element $\mu \in \gr$, called the magic constant. In this paper we will show that if $G$ is a graph of order $n=2^{p}(2k+1)$ for some natural numbers $p$, $k$ such that $\deg(v)\equiv c \imod {2^{p+1}}$ for some constant $c$ for any $v\in V(G)$, then there exists an $\gr$-distance magic labeling for any Abelian group $\gr$ for the graph $G[C_4]$. Moreover we prove that if $\gr$ is an arbitrary Abelian group of order $4n$ such that $\gr \cong \zet_2 \times\zet_2 \times \gA$ for some Abelian group $\gA$ of order $n$, then exists a $\gr$-distance magic labeling for any graph $G[C_4]$.
The Orbits of the Action of the Cactus Group on Arc Diagrams

Abstract:The cactus group $J_n$ is the $S_n$-equivariant fundamental group of the real locus of the Deligne-Mumford moduli space of stable rational curves with marked points. This group plays the role of the braid group for the monoidal category of Kashiwara crystals attached to a simple Lie algebra. Following Frenkel, Kirillov and Varchenko, one can identify the multiplicity set in a tensor product of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-crystals with the set of arc diagrams on a disc, thus allowing a much simpler description of the corresponding $J_n$-action. We address the problem of classifying the orbits of this cactus group action. Namely, we describe some invariants of this action and show that in some (fairly general) classes of examples there are no other invariants. Furthermore, we describe some additional relations, including the braid relation, that this action places on the generators of $J_n$.

Integral Cayley graphs over a group of order $6n$

Abstract:In this paper, we study the integral Cayley graphs over a non-abelian group $U_{6n}=\langle a,b\mid a^{2n}=b^3=1, a^{-1}ba=b^{-1}\rangle$ of order $6n$. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the integrality of Cayley graphs over $U_{6n}$. We also study relationships between the integrality of Cayley graphs over $U_{6n}$ and the Boolean algebra of cyclic groups. As applications, we construct some infinite families of connected integral Cayley graphs over $U_{6n}$.

Abstract:Let $B$ and $R$ be two simple graphs with vertex set $V$, and let $G(B,R)$ be the simple graph with vertex set $V$, in which two vertices are adjacent if they are adjacent in at least one of $B$ and $R$. We prove that if $B$ and $R$ are two $C_4$-free graphs on the same vertex set $V$ and $G(B,R)$ is the complete graph, then there exists an $B$-clique $X$, an $R$-clique $Y$ and a clique $Z$ in $B$ and $R$, such that $V=X\cup Y\cup Z$. Further, if $x\in Z$ then $x$ is one of the vertices of some double $C_5$ in $G(B,R)$. In particular, if also $G(B,R)$ does not contains a double $C_5$, then $V$ is obedient. We obtain that if $B$ and $R$ are $C_4$-free graphs then $\omega(G(B,R))\leq \omega(B)+\omega(R)+\frac{1}{2}\min(\omega(B),\omega(R))$ and $\omega(G(B,R))\leq \omega(B)+\omega(R)+\omega(H(B,R))$ where $H(B,R)$ is the simple graph with vertex set $V$, in which two vertices are adjacent if they are adjacent in $B$ and $R$.

Abstract:We introduce a family of groups $\Gamma_n^k$ for integer parameters $n>k$. These groups originate from discussion of braid groups on $2$-surfaces. On the other hand, they turn out to be related to 3-manifolds (in particular, they lead to new relationships between braids and manifolds), triangulations (ideal triangulations) cluster algebras, dynamics of moving points, quivers, hyperbolic structures, tropical geometry, and, probably, many other areas still to be discovered. Among crucial reason of this importance of groups $\Gamma_{n}^{4}$ we mention the Ptolemy relation, Pentagon relation, cluster algebra, Stasheff polytope.

Abstract:Adinkras are graphical gadgets introduced by physicists to study supersymmetry, which can be thought of as the Cayley graphs for supersymmetry algebras. Improving the result of Iga et al., we determine the critical group of an Adinkra given the $2$-rank of the Laplacian of the underlying Cayley graph. As a corollary, we show that the critical group is independent of the signature of the Adinkra. The proof uses the monodromy pairing on these critical groups.
