Abstract:We present an algorithm for the construction of lower dimensional elliptic tori in parametric Hamiltonian systems by means of the parametrization method with the tangent and normal frequencies being prescribed. This requires that the Hamiltonian system has as many parameters as the dimension of the normal dynamics, and the algorithm must adjust these parameters. We illustrate the methodology with an implementation of the algorithm computing $2$--dimensional elliptic tori in a system of $4$ coupled pendula (4 degrees of freedom).

Abstract:Minimal and CMC surfaces in S3$$S^3$$ can be treated via their associated family of flat SL(2,C)$$SL(2,{\mathbb {C}})$$-connections. In this the paper we parametrize the moduli space of flat SL(2,C)$$SL(2,{\mathbb {C}})$$-connections on the Lawson minimal surface of genus 2 which are equivariant with respect to certain symmetries of Lawson’s geometric construction. The parametrization uses Hitchin’s abelianization procedure to write such connections explicitly in terms of flat line bundles on a complex 1-dimensional torus. This description is used to develop a spectral curve theory for the Lawson surface. This theory applies as well to other CMC and minimal surfaces with the same holomorphic symmetries as the Lawson surface but different Riemann surface structure. Additionally, we study the space of isospectral deformations of compact minimal surface of genus g≥2$$g\ge 2$$ and prove that it is generated by simple factor dressing.

Abstract:A two-dimensional periodic Schrödingier operator is associated with every Lagrangian torus in the complex projective plane ${\mathbb C}P^2$. Using this operator, we introduce an energy functional on the set of Lagrangian tori. It turns out this energy functional coincides with the Willmore functional $W^{-}$ introduced by Montiel and Urbano. We study the energy functional on a family of Hamiltonian-minimal Lagrangian tori and support the Montiel–Urbano conjecture that the minimum of the functional is achieved by the Clifford torus. We also study deformations of minimal Lagrangian tori and show that if a deformation preserves the conformal type of the torus, then it also preserves the area, i.e., preserves the value of the energy functional. In particular, the deformations generated by Novikov–Veselov equations preserve the area of minimal Lagrangian tori.

Abstract:In Pinkall and Sterling (Ann Math 130:407–451, 1989) and Hitchin (J Differ Geom 31:627–710, 1990) the solutions of the elliptic sinh-Gordon equation of finite spectral genus g are investigated. These solutions are parametrized by complex matrix-valued polynomials called potentials. On the space of these potentials there act two commuting flows. The orbits of these flows are called Polynomial Killing fields. For they are double periodic. The eigenvalues of these matrix-valued polynomials are preserved along the flows and determine the lattice of periods. For , we investigate the level sets of these eigenvalues, which are called isospectral sets, and the dependence of the period lattice on the isospectral sets. The limiting cases of spectral genus one and zero are included. These limiting cases are used to construct on every elliptic curve three conformal maps to which are constrained Willmore. Finally, the Willmore functional is calculated in dependence of the conformal class.

Geometric Dirac operator on noncommutative torus and $M_2(\Bbb C)$

Abstract:We solve for quantum-geometrically realised spectral triples or `Dirac operators' on the noncommutative torus $\Bbb C_\theta[T^2]$ and on the algebra $M_2(\Bbb C)$ of $2\times 2$ matrices with their standard quantum metrics and associated quantum Levi-Civita connections. For $\Bbb C_\theta[T^2]$, we obtain an even standard spectral triple but now uniquely determined by full geometric realisability. For $M_2(\Bbb C)$, we are forced to the flat quantum Levi-Civita connection and again obtain a natural fully geometrically realised even spectral triple. In both case there is also an odd spectral triple for a different choice of a sign parameter. We also consider an alternate quantum metric on $M_2(\Bbb C)$ with curved quantum Levi-Civita connection and find a natural 2-parameter of almost spectral triple in that $D$ fails to be antihermitian. In all cases, we split the construction into a local tensorial level related to the quantum geometry, where we classify the results more broadly, and the further requirements relating to the Hilbert space structure. We also illustrate the Lichnerowicz formula for $D^2$ which applies in the case of a full geometric realisation.

Abstract:Consider a real analytical Hamiltonian system of KAM type H( p, q) = N( p) + P( p, q) that has n degrees of freedom ( n > 2) and is positive definite in p. Let Omega = {omega is an element of R-n|[(k) over bar, omega] = 0, (k) over bar is an element of Z(n)}. In this paper we show that for most rotation vectors in Omega, in the sense of (n - 1)-dimensional Lebesgue measure, there is at least one (n - 1)-dimensional invariant torus. These tori are the support of corresponding minimal measures. The Lebesgue measure estimate on this set is uniformly valid for any perturbation.

Abstract:We introduce a trilinear functional of differential one-forms for a finitely summable regular spectral triple with a noncommutative residue. We demonstrate that for a canonical spectral triple over a closed spin manifold it recovers the torsion of the linear connection. We examine several spectral triples, including Hodge-de Rham, Einstein-Yang-Mills, almost-commutative two-sheeted space, conformally rescaled noncommutative tori, and quantum SU (2) group, showing that the third one has a nonvanishing torsion if nontrivially coupled.

Abstract:We revisit the symplectic aspects of the spectral transform for matrix-valued rational functions with simple poles. We construct eigenvectors of such matrices in terms of the Szegő kernel on the spectral curve. Using variational formulas for the Szegő kernel we construct a new system of action-angle variables for the canonical symplectic form on the space of such functions. Comparison with previously known action-angle variables shows that the vector of Riemann constants is the gradient of some function on the moduli space of spectral curves; this function is found in the case of matrix dimension 2, when the spectral curve is hyperelliptic.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Hamiltonicity of graphs with large minimum degree. Firstly, we present some conditions for a simple graph to be Hamilton-connected and traceable from every vertex in terms of the spectral radius of the graph or its complement respectively. Secondly, we give the conditions for a nearly balanced bipartite graph to be traceable in terms of spectral radius, signless Laplacian spectral radius of the graph or its quasi-complement respectively.

Abstract:We study spectral asymptotics and resolvent bounds for non-selfadjoint perturbations of selfadjoint $h$-pseudodifferential operators in dimension 2, assuming that the classical flow of the unperturbed part is completely integrable. Spectral contributions coming from rational invariant Lagrangian tori are analyzed. Estimating the tunnel effect between strongly irrational (Diophantine) and rational tori, we obtain an accurate description of the spectrum in a suitable window in the complex spectral plane, provided that the strength of the non-selfadjoint perturbation $\gg h$ (or sometimes $\gg h^2$) is not too large.
