Abstract:An informal review is given of the status and direction of experiments on radiative B decays -- b -> s gamma and b -> d gamma. Branching fractions for exclusive and inclusive b -> s gamma decays, CP asymmetry limits, the photon energy spectrum, and limits on the b -> d gamma exclusive branching fractions are covered, and implications of the measurements discussed.

Abstract:In this proceeding we will review the current theoretical status of rare $B$ decays. These decays are indeed excellent indirect probes for New Physics searches, and in the current situation where no new states have been directly observed at collider, they provide a fundamental and alternative approach in the quest for Physics beyond the Standard Model. We will focus on the following classes of decays: $B_q\to\tau\nu$, $B_q\to\mu\mu$, $B\to K^{(*)}\nu\bar\nu$, $B\to K^{(*)}\ell\ell$, $B_s\to\phi\ell\ell$ and $b\to s\gamma$. The most updated Standard Model predictions will be provided, highlighting which are the main sources of uncertainty, and what is the possibility for New Physics effects when confronting the theory numbers to current experimental results.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the rare radiative processes B-c -> D-sJ((*))gamma within the Standard Model, where D-sJ((*)) stands for the meson D-s*, D-s1(2460, 2536) or D-s2*(2573). During the investigations, we consider the contributions from the penguin, annihilation, color-suppressed and color-favored cascade diagrams. Our results show that: (1) the penguin and annihilation contributions are dominant in the branching fractions; (2) for the processes B-c -> D-s*gamma and B-c -> D-s1(2460, 2536)gamma, the effects from the color-suppressed and color-favored cascade diagrams are un-negligible.

Abstract:Rare decays of $B$ mesons to radiative final states serve as an ideal ground to search for New Physics effects from short range contributions. Observed by CLEO in the early 1990s as one of the first transitions of the electroweak penguin family, these decays continue to play a key role in testing predictions of the Standard Model. We present the latest results from Belle and Belle II for the radiative penguin transitions.

Abstract:The radiative "B_c -> tau nu_tau gamma" decay is analyzed in the standard model. The branching ratio of this decay is calculated and the contributions of the Bremstrahlung and structure dependent parts are compared. It is shown that this decay can be detected at LHC.

On the Resummed Hadronic Spectra of Inclusive B Decays

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the hadronic mass spectra of inclusive B decays. Specifically, we study how an upper cut on the invariant mass spectrum, which is necessary to extract V_{ub}, results in the breakdown of the standard perturbative expansion due to the existence of large infrared logs. We first show how the decay rate factorizes at the level of the double differential distribution. Then, we present closed form expressions for the resummed cut rate for the inclusive decays B -> X_s gamma and B -> X_u e nu at next-to-leading order in the infrared logs. Using these results, we determine the range of cuts for which resummation is necessary, as well as the range for which the resummed expansion itself breaks down. We also use our results to extract the leading and next to leading infrared log contribution to the two loop differential rate. We find that for the phenomenologically interesting cut values, there is only a small region where the calculation is under control. Furthermore, the size of this region is sensitive to the parameter \bar{\Lambda}. We discuss the viability of extracting V_{ub} from the hadronic mass spectrum.
