Abstract:The deformation behavior of Sanicro25 alloy under high temperature cyclic loading was governed by a superposition of creep and high cycle fatigue processes. The creep behavior was controlled by thermal activation-assisted dislocation motion and the minimum strain rate ( ε̇min ) and mean stress ( σ m ) were found to follow a power-law relationship ( ε̇min=Aσmn,where,n=6.0~10.4 ). Creep dominated the deformation and damage process due to high temperature and mean stress. The local stress concentration caused by creep around the primary Z phase and grain boundaries led to the initiation of micro-cracks and the existence of cyclic strain promoted the propagation and connection of transgranular cracks. The linear relation between time to rupture ( tr ) and mean stress can be constructed ( tr = A 1 σ m − n 1 ), and the curve moved downward with stress amplitude and temperature. An equivalent stress( σ eq ) was proposed by considering the effect of mean stress and peak stress( σ max ) on creep life ( σ eq = σ m γ σ max 1− γ , where , γ = 2/3). Then the relation between the life and the equivalent stress can be condensed into a narrow data band at different stress amplitudes ( tr = A 2 σ eq − n 2 ). Finally, all creep life data at various loading conditions and temperatures can be well predicted within a 2× scatter band using the modified Larson-Miller parameter method ( P ( σ eq ) = T [ C + lg ( tr )], C = 25).
