Mandibular Lagerhans Cell Histiocytosis In A Pediatric Patient: Case Report.

Abstract:A male patient, aged 1 year, presented with a solid swelling in the right mandible, displaying cortical bone expansion, lasting for one month, accompanied by a history of fever and pain. According to the mother, there were no reported systemic diseases. Radiographically, a hypodense osteolytic lesion was observed, resulting in bone loss extending from the ramus to the right mandibular body. Clinical diagnoses of neuroblastoma and lymphoma were initially considered. Following an incisional biopsy, the histopathological examination revealed a proliferation of cells displaying characteristics consistent with histiocytes, interspersed with numerous eosinophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells, and multinucleated giant cells.
