Abstract:A 35-year-old female reported experiencing pain in the right mandibular region, particularly around the first molar area. During the intraoral examination, a minor swelling was observed in the lingual region of the right mandible. Tooth 46 exhibited extrusion, and tooth 47 displayed a Grade III level of mobility. A panoramic radiograph revealed a multilocular radiolucent area encompassing teeth 46 and 47, with well-defined borders. An aspiration puncture yielded negative results, and both affected teeth were found to be vital.

Abstract:Ameloblastic carcinoma is an infrequent malignant epithelial neoplasm. A 52-year-old Caucasian male patient presented with an expansive lesion in the posterior region of the right mandible. During clinical examination, a purplish nodule was observed in the region of the right mandibular body and ramus, which was painful upon palpation. Computed tomography scans revealed a single-chamber, low-density lesion in the posterior mandibular area with lingual expansion and areas of bone fenestration. An incisional biopsy was conducted, and the histopathological report initially indicated ameloblastoma.

Abstract:A 30-year-old male presented with a sizable lesion in the posterior region of his mandible. Intraorally, the lesion exhibited exophytic, mottled, and pedunculated features, with a contour distinct from the adjacent mucosa. A previous diagnosis of ameloblastoma had been established. A panoramic radiograph revealed a wide, well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion, while 3D imaging from tomography exposed extensive tissue destruction. Histopathological analysis depicted an oral mucosa fragment covered by stratified squamous epithelium with irregular exophytic projections, featuring hyperchromatism, pleomorphism, and atypical mitoses.

Abstract:A 21-year-old female, with a history of past smoking, presented with a complaint of mouth ulcers that had been progressively worsening over the past 6 months. Clinically, she exhibited an 8 cm reddish mass in the right mandible. The mass appeared hardened, smooth, and displayed a granulomatous appearance, along with a diastema between premolars. Although tooth mobility was observed, there was no reported paresthesia or pain. Computed tomography revealed an osteolytic lesion with irregular margins, encompassing the entire alveolar bone, extending down to the mandibular base.

Abstract:Intraosseous mucoepidermoid carcinoma is rare and usually affects the posterior mandible, with prevalence in the third to fifth decades. We present a case of a 44-year-old white female patient with a radiolucent lesion in the anterior region of the mandible. In addition to this radiographic finding, a slight asymptomatic swelling was observed. Cone-beam CT scans showed a well-defined unilocular hypodense lesion with a hyperdense halo and a slight buccolingual expansion, at the apex of teeth 42, 43 and 44.

Abstract:A 27-year-old male presented with a chief complaint of a persistently painless swelling situated in the region corresponding to the mucosa supporting teeth 33-37. Radiologic scans depicted a multilocular lesion impacting the roots of the mentioned teeth, extending to the mandible body and base, thereby inducing expansion. A review of the patient's past medical history revealed that an incisional biopsy had been conducted at the same site in 2011, revealing swelling. The microscopic diagnosis at that time was an odontogenic keratocyst.

Abstract:A 24-year-old male patient presented with swelling both outside and inside the body and ramus of the right mandible, accompanied by paresthesia of the right mental nerve that had persisted for 5 years. A panoramic X-ray examination revealed a lobulated osteolytic lesion, affecting the condyle to the region of the right first premolar. An incisional biopsy was conducted, and the anatomopathological diagnosis confirmed a solid odontogenic ameloblastoma. Subsequently, the patient underwent tumor resection, followed by immediate reconstruction using a microvascularized fibula graft.

Abstract:A 33-year-old male patient visited the hospital's outpatient clinic with an asymptomatic swelling in the left mandible that had been present for more than 10 years. Imaging examinations revealed an expansive and osteolytic multilocular lesion affecting the left mandibular body, angle, and ramus. An incisional biopsy was conducted, which indicated a fragment of malignant neoplasm characterized by the proliferation of mucous, intermediate, and squamoid cells. Architectural configurations included solid areas and cystic spaces, partially lined by mucous cells with abundant mucinous cytoplasm.

Abstract:Osteosarcomas are malignant bone neoplasms that frequently affect long bones. Involvement of the jaws is rare. A 35-year-old African American female, who does not smoke or drink, presented with an intraoral swelling affecting the floor of the mouth and the anterior region of the vestibule on the left side of the mandible. This condition had been evolving over a three-month period. A CT scan revealed a 5 cm hypodense lesion with a hyperdense "sunbeam-like" center, indicating cortical bone expansion.

Abstract:A 6-year-old boy presented with a left mandibular swelling that had been progressing for 18 months. Initially, he received antibiotics without any positive results. Subsequently, teeth 74 and 75 were extracted in an attempt to alleviate the condition. However, the swelling persisted one month after the extractions, and the patient experienced mild pain only during chewing. A panoramic radiograph revealed a rounded radiolucent lesion involving the entire tooth germ of 74 and partially affecting the germ of 75.

Abstract:Ameloblastoma is a locally aggressive and infiltrative benign odontogenic tumor. A 21-year-old female patient was referred to the oral surgery service due to a radiographic finding. Clinical examination revealed an increase in facial volume in the posterior region of the jaw. Imaging exams showed a well-defined, unilocular radiolucent lesion with a radiopaque halo, extending in the anteroposterior direction of the mandible with displacement of tooth 48. An incisional biopsy was performed, and a diagnosis of unicystic ameloblastoma was made.

Abstract:A 40-year-old female patient was referred with a complaint of painful symptoms in the face for approximately three months. During the physical examination, reports discomfort in the left cheek region with episodes of pain, and denies comorbidity. She also reports that in a previous consultation, imaging tests were requested, and a lesion was observed in the body of the mandible. In intra and extraoral examination, no alterations were observed. The imaging exams show a hyperdense, compact area, partially delimited in medullary bone space, without cortical expansion, and in close contact with the left mental foramen and ipsilateral inferior alveolar nerve canal.

Abstract:A 56-year-old woman presented with a four-month history of right-sided facial pain. Upon intraoral clinical examination, a swelling was observed in the right side of the mouth floor. This swelling had a hardened consistency, normal mucosa color, well-defined boundaries, and was sessile in nature. An occlusal radiograph of the mandible did not reveal any radiographic images associated with the lesion. An aspiration puncture yielded negative results. Initially, the diagnosis was considered to be Pleomorphic Adenoma, which is a benign salivary gland tumor.

Abstract:Case Report: A 53-year-old male patient, diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the prostate with bone metastasis in 2020, underwent surgery, chemotherapy (Docetaxel), and initiated Zometa in 2021. He was referred for dental evaluation due to oral pain and paresthesia in the lower lip and chin on the right side. Physical examination revealed swelling in the vestibular region near teeth 45 and 46, with pain upon vertical percussion of tooth 46. Panoramic radiography displayed a mixed image between the roots of teeth 45 and 46 and an increased space corresponding to the periodontal ligament.

Abstract:A 42-year-old male patient came to a dental appointment with a firm nodule located at the left mandibular angle and ascending ramus. There was no bone exposure or infection, and the patient had a history of third molar extraction performed one and a half years prior to the consultation due to root resorption associated with an osteolytic, multilobulated radiolucent lesion. A computed tomography scan revealed a homogeneous solid lesion with cortical destruction, primarily on the lingual aspect of the mandible, measuring 20 x 18 mm.

Abstract:A 52-year-old Caucasian female presented to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service in June 2022 with a lesion in the anterior region of the mandible that was discovered in a routine radiographic examination in 2009, and several biopsies with different histopathological diagnoses were performed since then. On physical examination, there was no clinical evidence of asymmetry, pain, or increase in volume. The radiolucent lesion has evolved over time, from a mixed area near the apex of the anteroinferior teeth to a well-defined lesion extending from the mandibular symphysis to the posterior mandibular region.

Abstract:A 16-year-old male patient presented to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service with a painless swelling in the maxilla. Clinically, a noticeable increase in volume was observed in the region of the upper left canine, resulting in facial asymmetry. A cone-beam computed tomography revealed a well-defined, radiolucent lesion measuring approximately 10mm in diameter. Based on the clinical and radiographic appearance, an excisional biopsy was performed. Microscopic examination of the specimen showed a fibrous capsule covered by odontogenic epithelium with extensive intraluminal projections, characterized by the presence of plexiform cords, ductiform structures, and formations resembling rosettes.

Abstract:A 73-year-old man presented with a 4-month history of a rapidly growing exophytic mass in the right mandible. Imaging exams revealed a destructive radiolucency causing tooth resorption. An incisional biopsy was performed, and microscopic analysis revealed the proliferation of medium to large-sized anaplastic cells with abundant cytoplasm, eccentric nuclei, marked pleomorphism, and numerous mitoses. The neoplastic cells tested positive for CD138, VS138c, lambda, and MUM1, while testing negative for AE1/AE3, kappa, S100, synaptophysin, and EBV (in-situ hybridization).

Abstract:Odontomas are common odontogenic tumors classified as hamartomas that can impede the eruption of associated teeth. In this instance, a 13-year-old Caucasian female patient presented to the stomatology clinic with a complaint of prolonged retention of the mandibular right deciduous canine. Panoramic radiography revealed an area exhibiting increased radiopacity resembling tooth structure, surrounded by a thin radiolucent margin in the region of tooth 43, indicative of a complex odontoma. A cone-beam computed tomography scan further demonstrated the permanent canine impacted below the odontoma.

Abstract:Odontogenic myxoma (OM) is a benign tumor originating from the odontogenic ectomesenchyme. This report details two cases of OM with atypical characteristics. Case 1: A 21-year-old female presented with a complaint of swelling that had been present for 5 months. Panoramic radiography revealed a multilocular, mixed lesion involving the left mandibular body and ramus. Additionally, signs of root resorption and a sunburst appearance were evident. Case 2: A 24-year-old male had a large, painless swelling in the right jaw that had been progressing for 4 years.
