Abstract:In this paper, we study the geometry of compact complex manifolds with Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics and prove that compact complex surfaces admitting Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics are Kähler Calabi-Yau surfaces or Hopf surfaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider general metric spaces and length spaces whose metrics may be nonreversible, and give Gromov pre-compactness theorems for such spaces with finite reversibility with respect to a generalized Gromov–Hausdorff distance. On the basis of these we derive pre-compactness theorems for general Finsler manifolds with finite reversibility.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate Yau's rigidity problem for compact submanifolds with parallel mean curvature in pinched Riemannian manifolds. Firstly, we prove that if M-n is an oriented closed minimal submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold Nn(+p), then there exists a constant delta(0)(n, p) is an element of (0, 1) such that if the sectional curvature of N satisfies (K) over bar (N) is an element of[delta(0)(n, p), 1], and if M has a lower bound for the sectional curvature and an upper bound for the normalized scalar curvature, then N is isometric to Sn+p. Moreover, M is either a totally geodesic sphere, one of the Clifford minimal hypersurfaces S-k(root k/n) x S-n (k)(root n-k/n) in Sn+1 for k = 1,..., n-1, or the Veronese submanifold in Sn+d, where d = 1/2n(n + 1) - 1. We then generalize the above theorem to the case where M ia a compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in a pinched Riemannian manifold.

Abstract:We propose to study positive harmonic functions satisfying a nonlinear Neuman condition on a compact Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and strictly convex boundary. A precise conjecture is formulated. We discuss its implications and present some partial results. Related questions are discussed for compact Riemannian manifolds with positive Ricci curvature and convex boundary.

Abstract:. In this note, we give a brief exposition on the recent progress on the geometry and topology of compact complex manifolds with RC-positive tangent bundles, with particular focus on several open problems proposed by S.-T. Yau around 40 years ago. The uniformization theorem demonstrates satis-factorily that: every simply connected Riemann sur-face is isomorphic to one of three Riemann surfaces: the open unit disk D , the complex plane C , or the Riemann sphere S 2 . However, the geometry and topology of higher dimensional complex manifolds are far more complicated, and the classifica-tions of such manifolds are still challenging tasks in modern geometry. As analogous to the geometric properties of three model Riemann surfaces, many terminologies are developed to investigate higher dimensional complex manifolds. For instances, a vari-ety of curvature notions are used in differential geometry, e.g., holomorphic bisectional curvature, holomorphic sectional curvature, Ricci curvature and etc. With the help of the intersection theory, algebraic geometers created many algebraic concepts to de-scribe the geometry of algebraic manifolds, such as ampleness, nefness and so on. On the other hand, it is natural to investigate complex manifolds by ana-lyzing model Riemann surfaces contained in them. The category of algebraic manifolds containing rational curves ( CP 1 ∼ = S 2 ) plays a significant role in alge-* braic geometry, and complex manifolds without entire curves C —so called hyperbolic manifolds—are fundamental in analytical geometry.

Abstract:We survey the theory of complex manifolds that are related to Riemann surface, Hodge theory, Chern class, Kodaira embedding and Hirzebruch–Riemann–Roch, and some modern development of uniformization theorems, Kähler–Einstein metric and the theory of Donaldson–Uhlenbeck–Yau on Hermitian Yang–Mills connections. We emphasize mathematical ideas related to physics. At the end, we identify possible future research directions and raise some important open questions.

Abstract:We exhibit the first non-trivial concrete examples of Gromov-Hausdorff compactifications of moduli spaces of K\"ahler-Einstein Fano manifolds in all complex dimensions bigger than two (Fano K-moduli spaces). We also discuss potential applications to explicit study of moduli spaces of K-stable Fano manifolds with large anti-canonical volume. Our arguments are based on recent progress about the geometry of metric tangent cones and on related ideas about the algebro-geometric study of singularities of K-stable Fano varieties.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the study of n -dimensional conformally flat Riemannian manifolds for and its applications in affine differential geometry. First, improving the work of Sekigawa–Takagi (Tohoku Math J 23:1–11, 1971), we have a complete classification for conformally flat Riemannian manifolds with semi-parallel Ricci tensor. Then, as an application, we establish a complete classification of locally strongly convex affine hyperspheres in the -dimensional affine space with conformally flat affine metric and semi-parallel Ricci tensor, which generalizes the previous works of Cheng–Hu–Moruz–Vrancken (Sci China Math 63:2055–2078, 2020) and Hu–Xing (J Math Anal Appl 528:127596, 2023) on affine hyperspheres with parallel Ricci tensor.

Abstract:Based on a quantitative version of the classical Hopf-Rinow theorem in terms of the doubling property, we prove a new precompactness principle in the (pointed) Gromov-Hausdorff topology for domains in (maybe incomplete) Riemannian manifolds with a lower Ricci curvature bound, which are applicable to those with a Reifenberg-flat boundary, or the covering spaces of balls naturally appear in the study of local geometry and topology of manifolds with lower curvature bounds.

On Z-compactifiability of manifolds

Abstract:In 1976, Chapman and Siebenmann \cite{CS76} established necessary and sufficient conditions for $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifying Hilbert cube manifolds. While these conditions are known to be necessary for a manifold $M^n$ to admit a $\mathcal{Z}$-compactification, it remains an open question whether these conditions are also sufficient. Guilbault and the author \cite[Thm. 1.2]{GG20} proved that these conditions are sufficient for the product $M^n \times [-2,2]$ $(n\geq 5)$ to be $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifiable. We further explore this topic by introducing additional conditions such that a $\mathcal{Z}$-compactification of $M^n \times [-2,2]$ indeed implies a $\mathcal{Z}$-compactification of $M^n$, thus partially resolving the open question. As applications, it is shown that there exist infinitely many non-pseudo-collarable 4-manifolds which are $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifiable; however, pseudo-collarable manifolds with compact boundary of dimension at least six are $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifiable. Furthermore, we investigate the connection between $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifiability with the topological rigidity of aspherical manifolds. We also construct a noncompact one-sided $s$-cobordism $(W,V,V^{\ast})$ satisfying controlled Mather-Thurston theorems, where $V$ is $\mathcal{Z}$-compactifiable, whereas $V^{\ast}$ may not be.

Abstract:In this informal expository note, we quickly introduce and survey compactifications of strata of holomorphic 1-forms on Riemann surfaces, i.e. spaces of translation surfaces. In the last decade, several of these have been constructed, studied, and successfully applied to problems. We discuss relations between their definitions and properties, focusing on the different notions of convergence from a flat geometric perspective.

Abstract:For compact submanifolds in Euclidean and Spherical space forms with Ricci curvature bounded below by a function $\alpha(n,k,H,c)$ of mean curvature, we prove that the submanifold is either isometric to the Einstein Clifford torus, or a topological sphere for the maximal bound $\alpha(n,[\frac{n}{2}],H,c)$, or has up to $k$-th homology groups vanishing. This gives an almost complete (except for the differentiable sphere theorem) characterization of compact submanifolds with pinched Ricci curvature, generalizing celebrated rigidity results obtained by Ejiri, Xu-Tian, Xu-Gu, Xu-Leng-Gu, Vlachos, Dajczer-Vlachos.

Abstract:For a conformally compact Poincare-Einstein manifold (X, g(+)), we consider two types of compactifications for it. One is (g) over bar = rho(2)g(+), where rho is a fixed smooth defining function; the other is the adapted (including Fetterman-Graham) compactification (g) over bar (s) = rho(2)(s)g(+) with a continuous parameter s > n/2. In this paper, we mainly prove that for a set of conformally compact Poincare-Einstein manifolds {(X, g(+)((i)))} with conformal infinity of positive Yamabe type, {(g) over bar ((i))} is compact in C-k,C-alpha ((X) over bar) topology if and only if {(g) over bar ((i))(s)} is compact in some C-l,C-beta ((X) over bar) topology, provided that (g) over bar ((i) )(s)vertical bar(TM) = (g) over cap (()(i)) and (g) over cap ((i)) and (g) over cap ((i)) has positive scalar curvature for each i. Abstract:We concentrate on using the traceless Ricci tensor and the Bochner curvature tensor to study the rigidity problems for complete Kähler manifolds. We derive some elliptic differential inequalities from Weitzenb¨ock formulas for the traceless Ricci tensor of Kähler manifolds with constant scalar curvature and the Bochner tensor of Kähler-Einstein manifolds respectively. Using elliptic estimates and maximum principle, several L p and L ∞ pinching results are established to characterize Kähler-Einstein manifolds among Kähler manifolds with constant scalar curvature and complex space forms among Kähler-Einstein manifolds. Our results can be regarded as a complex analogues to the rigidity results for Riemannian manifolds. Moreover, our main results especially establish the rigidity theorems for complete noncompact Kähler manifolds and noncompact Kähler-Einstein manifolds under some pointwise pinching conditions or global integral pinching conditions. To the best of our knowledge, these kinds of results have not been reported.
Scalar-mean rigidity theorem for compact manifolds with boundary

Abstract:We prove a scalar-mean rigidity theorem for compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary in dimension less than five by extending Schoen-Yau dimension reduction argument. As a corollary, we prove the sharp spherical radius rigidity theorem and best NNSC fill-in in terms of the mean curvature. Additionally, we prove a (Lipschitz) Listing type scalar-mean comparison rigidity theorem for these dimensions. Our results remove the spin assumption.

Abstract:We present a compensated compactness theorem in Banach spaces established recently, whose formulation is originally motivated by the weak rigidity problem for isometric immersions of manifolds with lower regularity. As a corollary, a geometrically intrinsic div-curl lemma for tensor fields on Riemannian manifolds is obtained. Then we show how this intrinsic div-curl lemma can be employed to establish the global weak rigidity of the Gauss-Codazzi-Ricci equations, the Cartan formalism, and the corresponding isometric immersions of Riemannian submanifolds.
