Abstract:Given traditional concrete's brittle fracture and performance limitations in transportation infrastructure, this paper innovatively introduces rubber particles, polypropylene fibers, bentonite, and polymer emulsion into new flexible concrete. It uses an orthogonal test method to optimize its mix ratio design. The influence mechanism of each modified material and its content on the performance of concrete is deeply explored. The key factors and their primary and secondary effects on improving concrete's compressive, tensile peak strain, and flexural properties are clarified through range and variance analysis. The results show that when the rubber particles replace the fine aggregate with 12%, the polypropylene fiber content is 6kg/m 3 , the bentonite replaces the cement with 15%, and the polymer-cement ratio is 6%, the flexural deformation performance of the new flexible concrete is optimal. Furthermore, through SEM microscopic analysis, the deformation mechanism of rubber particles as energy absorbers, the effective containment of polypropylene fibers on micro-crack propagation, and the significant improvement of bentonite and polymer emulsion on the structure of concrete interfacial transition zone are revealed intuitively, which provides a new perspective for understanding and optimizing the microstructure-macro performance relationship of flexible concrete.
