Abstract:Fixed points for uniformly local asymptotic nonexpansive maps are discussed in this article. An approximate fixed point sequence for such a map over a uniformly convex Banach space is derived. At the end, we study the unique fixed point for uniformly local asymptotic contraction.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of fixed points for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings with center 0 defined on closed convex subsets of various Banach spaces. Three applications are given. Firstly, we prove that our results refine those concerning alternate convexically nonexpansive (in short; ACN) mappings studied by P. N. Dowling in " On a fixed point result of Amini-Harandi in strictly convex Banach spaces, Acta. Math. Hungar., 112 (1-2), (2006), 85-88" . Secondly, by using Lau's result in " Closed convex invariant subsets of $L_p(G)$, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., {\bf 232}, (1977), 131-142", we give another characterization for the noncompactness of locally compact groups $G$. Finally, we discuss the existence of a solution for a nonlinear transport equation without using compactness results.

Abstract:We study the existence problems of fixed points and the topological structure of fixed point sets for nonexpansive set-valued maps in Banach space. We establish some porosity results on the existence of fixed points and the topological structure of fixed point sets for nonexpansive set-valued maps with values in an admissible family. The results obtained in the present paper cover and improve the corresponding ones due to De Blasi and Myjak (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris Sér. I Math. 308:51–54, 1989) and De Blasi et al. (Set-Valued Anal. 17:97–112, 2009).

Abstract:A map of a metric space into itself has the approximate fixed point property (AFPP for short) if every nearly fixed point is close to some fixed point. It is proven that both linear operators acting on finite-dimensional Banach spaces and uniformly expansive linear homeomorphisms on Banach spaces exhibit the AFPP. Furthermore, an illustration is provided of a linear homeomorphism that does not satisfy the AFPP.

Abstract:In this paper, a generalization of fixed-point mappings with an iterate at a point in complete metric spaces is shown, using the notions of T-closed sets and i-P-regularity/d-P-regularity, proving conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the fixed point. Examples are provided to illustrate the results and an application to coupled fixed points is shown.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper was to prove that a novel algorithm with an inertial approach, used to generate an iterative sequence, strongly converges to a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping in a real uniformly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Furthermore, zeros of accretive mappings were obtained. The proposed algorithm has been implemented and tested via numerical simulation in MATLAB. The simulation results showed that the algorithm converges to the optimal configurations and shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:Let be a bounded, closed and convex subset of a reflexive metric space with a digraph such that -intervals along walks are closed and convex. In the main theorem we show that if is a monotone -nonexpansive mapping and there exists such that , then has a fixed point provided for each , has the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings. In particular, it gives an essential generalization of the Dehaish-Khamsi theorem concerning partial orders in complete uniformly convex hyperbolic metric spaces. Some counterparts of this result for modular spaces, and for commutative families of mappings are given too.

Common fixed point theorems for a commutative family of nonexpansive mappings in complete random normed modules

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduce and study the notion of random Chebyshev centers. Further, based on the recently developed theory of stable sets, we introduce the notion of random complete normal structure so that we can prove the two deeper theorems: one of which states that random complete normal structure is equivalent to random normal structure for an $L^0$-convexly compact set in a complete random normed module; the other of which states that if $G$ is an $L^0$-convexly compact subset with random normal structure of a complete random normed module, then every commutative family of nonexpansive mappings from $G$ to $G$ has a common fixed point. We also consider the fixed point problems for isometric mappings in complete random normed modules. Finally, as applications of the fixed point theorems established in random normed modules, when the measurable selection theorems fail to work, we can still prove that a family of strong random nonexpansive operators from $(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P)\times C$ to $C$ has a common random fixed point, where $(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P)$ is a probability space and $C$ is a weakly compact convex subset with normal structure of a Banach space.

Approximating fixed points of enriched contractions in Banach spaces

Abstract:We introduce a large class of mappings, called enriched contractions, which includes, amongst many other contractive type mappings, the Picard-Banach contractions and some nonexpansive mappings. We show that any enriched contraction has a unique fixed point and that this fixed point can be approximated by means of an appropriate Kransnoselskij iterative scheme. Several important results in fixed point theory are shown to be corollaries or consequences of the main results in this paper. We also study the fixed points of local enriched contractions, asymptotic enriched contractions and Maia type enriched contractions. Examples to illustrate the generality of our new concepts and the corresponding fixed point theorems are also given.

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduced a new class of generalized non-expansive mappings, which was larger than the class satisfying the condition $ B_{\gamma, \mu } $. Also, we proposed a new iterative process to approximate the fixed point of the mapping we introduced in this work, then we prove convergence theorems for these mappings by using our iteration process. Lastly, a numerical example was given to show the efficiency of this new iteration process. Our results were the extension and generalization of many known results in the literature in fixed point theory.

Abstract:In this article, we introduce two multivalued contractive mappings within the framework of Hausdorff controlled metric spaces, employing concepts of admissibility and C ‐class functions. The first mapping is a (β∗,ζ) ‐generalized contractive multivalued mapping, and the second is a (β,W(ζ,ξ)) ‐multivalued mapping. We establish conditions guaranteeing the existence of fixed points for these mappings. To support our theoretical findings, we provide a numerical example, demonstrating the independence of the contractive conditions for the mappings. Furthermore, we apply our results to a specific problem in polynomial equations. These findings complement several existing results in the literature.

Abstract:We construct a Banach space satisfying that the nearest point map (also called proximity mapping or metric projection) onto any compact and convex subset is continuous but not uniformly continuous. The space we construct is locally uniformly convex, which ensures the continuity of all these nearest point maps. Moreover, we prove that every infinite-dimensional separable Banach space is arbitrarily close (in the Banach-Mazur distance) to one satisfying the above conditions.

Abstract:The purpose of our paper is to present a few convergence results for the Krasnoselskii–Mann iteration and also the modified Krasnoselskii–Mann iteration used for approximating the fixed point of k -strictly pseudo contractive map in the Banach space, which can be derived from the corresponding convergence theorems in the class of non-expansive maps. Also, using the enrichment techniques for contractive type map T , i.e., the averaged operator , where , we identified that pseudo-contractive and demi-contractive maps are an unsaturated class of mappings in the Banach space. Illustrative examples and numerical calculations are given to support the obtained results, which are in fact the generalizations of approximations results in the Banach space from the Hilbert space.

Abstract:Since the topological properties of a b-metric space (which generalizes the concept of a metric space) seem sometimes counterintuitive due to the fact that the "open" balls may not be open sets, we review some aspects of these spaces concerning compactness, metrizability, continuity and fixed points. After doing so, we introduce new types of contractivities that extend the concept of Banach contraction. We study some of their properties, giving sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points and common fixed points. Afterwards, we consider some iterative schemes in quasi-normed spaces for the approximation of these critical points, analyzing their convergence and stability. We apply these concepts to the resolution of a model of integral equation of Urysohn type. In the last part of the paper, we refine some results about partial contractivities in the case where the underlying set is a strong b-metric space, and we establish some relations between mutual weak contractions and quasi-contractions and the new type of contractivity.

Abstract:In recent times there have been two prominent trends in metric fixed point theory. One is the use of weak contractive inequalities and the other is the use of binary relations. Combining the two trends, in this paper we establish a relation-theoretic fixed point result for a mapping which is defined on a metric space with an arbitrary binary relation and satisfies a weak contractive inequality for any pair of points whenever the pair of points is related by a given relation. The uniqueness is obtained by assuming some extra conditions. The metric space is assumed to be R -complete. We use R -continuity of functions. The property of local T-transitivity of the relation R is used in the main theorem. There is an illustrative example. An existing fixed point result is generalized through the present work. We use a method in the proof of our main theorem which is a blending of relation-theoretic and analytic approaches.

Abstract:Assume that is a -finite measure space and a variable exponent. In the case of a purely atomic measure, we prove that the w-FPP for mappings of asymptotically nonexpansive type in the Nakano space , where is a sequence in , is equivalent to several geometric properties of the space, as weak normal structure, the w-FPP for nonexpansive mappings and the impossibility of containing isometrically . In the case of an arbitrary -finite measure, we prove that this characterization also holds for pointwise eventually nonexpansive mappings. To determine if the w-FPP for nonexpansive mappings and for mappings of asymptotically nonexpansive type are equivalent is a long standing open question \cite{Ki3}. According to our results, this is the case, at least, for pointwise eventually nonexpansive mappings in Lebesgue spaces with variable exponents.
