Abstract:We study a strengthening of the notion of a universally meager set and its dual counterpart that strengthens the notion of a universally null set. We say that a subset $A$ of a perfect Polish space $X$ is countably perfectly meager (respectively, countably perfectly null) in $X$, if for every perfect Polish topology $\tau$ on $X$, giving the original Borel structure of $X$, $A$ is covered by an $F_\sigma$-set $F$ in $X$ with the original Polish topology such that $F$ is meager with respect to $\tau$ (respectively, for every finite, non-atomic, Borel measure $\mu$ on $X$, $A$ is covered by an $F_\sigma$-set $F$ in $X$ with $\mu(F)=0$). We prove that if $2^{\aleph_0}\leq \aleph_2$, then there exists a universally meager set in $2^{\mathbb N}$ which is not countably perfectly meager in $2^{\mathbb N}$ (respectively, a universally null set in $2^{\mathbb N}$ which is not countably perfectly null in $2^{\mathbb N}$).

Abstract:A transformation of gamma max-infinitely divisible laws viz. geometric gamma max-infinitely divisible laws is considered in this paper. Some of its distributional and divisibility properties are discussed and a random time changed extremal process corresponding to this distribution is presented. A new kind of invariance (stability) under geometric maxima is proved and a max-AR(1) model corresponding to it is also discussed.

Abstract:We provide new techniques to construct sets of reals without perfect subsets and with the Hurewicz or Menger covering properties. In particular, we show that if the Continuum Hypothesis holds, then there are such sets which can be mapped continuously onto the Cantor space. These results allow to separate the properties of Menger and $\mathsf{S}_1(\Gamma,\mathrm{O})$ in the realm of sets of reals without perfect subsets and solve a problem of Nowik and Tsaban concerning perfectly meager subsets in the transitive sense. We present also some other applications of the mentioned above methods.

Abstract:We study the low $Q^2$ wave-functions of pions and kaons as an expansion in terms of hadron-like Fock state fluctuations. In this formalism, pion and kaon wave-functions are related one another. Consequently, the knowledge of the pion structure allows the determination of parton distributions in kaons. In addition, we show that the intrinsic (low $Q^2$) sea of pions and kaons are different due to their different valence quark structure. Finally, we analize the feasibility of a method to extract kaon's parton distribution functions within this approach and compare with available experimental data.

Abstract:Using combinatorial covering properties, we show that there is no concentrated set of reals of size $\omega_2$ in the Miller model. The main result refutes a conjecture of Bartoszyński and Halbeisen. We also prove that there are no $\gamma$-set of reals of size $\omega_2$ in the Miller model.

Abstract:We find bounds for the maximal length of a sequence of distinct $\bf{\Gamma_{2n+1,m}}$-sets under $AD$ and show there is no sequence of distinct $\bf{\Gamma_{2n+1}}$-sets of length $\bf{\delta^1_{2n+3}}$. As a special case, there is no sequence of distinct $\bf{\Gamma_{1,m}}$-sets of length $\aleph_{m+2}$. These are the optimal results for the pointclasses $\bf{\Gamma_{2n+1}}$ and $\bf{\Gamma_{1,m}}$.

Abstract:We have performed high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on YBa2Cu3O7-delta (Y123; delta = 0.06; Tc = 92 K). By accurately determining the Fermi surface and energy band dispersion, we solve long-standing controversial issues as to the anomalous electronic states of Y-based high-Tc cuprates. We unambiguously identified surface-bilayer-derived bonding and antibonding bands, together with their bulk counterparts. The surface bands are highly overdoped (hole concentration x = 0.29), showing no evidence for the gap opening or the dispersion anomaly in the antinodal region, while the bulk bands show a clear dx2-y2-wave superconducting gap and the Bogoliubov quasiparticle-like behavior with a characteristic energy scale of 50-60 meV indicative of a strong electron-boson coupling in the superconducting state. All these results suggest that the metallic and superconducting states coexist at the adjacent bilayer of Y123 surface.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concepts of gamma and beta approximations via general ordered topological approximation spaces. Also, increasing (decreasing) gamma and beta boundary, positive and negative regions are given in general ordered topological approximation spaces (GOTAS, for short). Some important properties of them were investigated. From this study, we can say that studying any properties of rough set concepts via GOTAS is a generalization of Pawlak approximation spaces and general approximation spaces.

Abstract:We prove that a sumset of a TE subset of (\N) (these sets can be viewed as "aperiodic" sets) with a set of positive upper density intersects a set of values of any polynomial with integer coefficients., i.e. for any (A \subset \N ) a TE set, for any (p(n) \in \Z[n]: °{p(n)} > 0, p(n) \to_{n \to \infty} \infty ) and any subset (B \subset \N ) of positive upper density we have (R_p = A+B \cap \{p(n) | n \in \N \} \neq \emptyset). For (A ) a WM set (subclass of TE sets) we prove that (R_p ) has lower density 1. In addition we obtain a generalization of the latter result to the case of several polynomials and several WM sets.

Abstract:In \cite[Proposition 8.21 Page-169]{F} Using the methods of topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notion of central set and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem. Later, in \cite{DHS}, D. De, H. Hindman and D. Struss established a strong Central Sets Theorem, where they introduced the notion of $J$-set. Like $J$-set, in \cite{BG} V. Bergelson and D. Glasscock introduced the notion of combinatorially rich set ( $CR$-set). Let $u,v\in\mathbb{N}$ and $A$ be a $u\times v$ matrix with rational entries. In \cite{HS23}, N. Hindman and D. Strauss established that whenever $B$ is a piecewise syndetic set (resp. $J$-set) in $\mathbb{Z}$, $\left\{ \vec{x}\in\mathbb{Z}^{v}:A\vec{x}\in B^{u}\right\} $ is a piecewise syndetic set ( resp. $J$-set) in $\mathbb{Z}^{v}$. In this article, we prove the same result for $CR$-sets using an equivalent definition of $CR$-set in \cite{HHST} by N. Hindman, H. Hosseini, D. Strauss and M. Tootkaboni.

Abstract:We investigate Gamma conjecture I and its underlying Conjecture $\mathcal{O}$ for the $\mathbb{P}^1$-bundles $X_n=\mathbb{P}_{\mathbb{P}^{n}}(\mathcal{O}\oplus\mathcal{O}(n))$ with $n\ge 3$. We show that Conjecture $\mathcal{O}$ does not hold if $n$ is odd, and that Gamma conjecture I does not hold if $n$ is even. Led by this example, we propose modifications for Gamma conjecture I, discuss Gamma conjecture I over the Kahler moduli space, and identify the corresponding principal asymptotic class.

Abstract:Many natural notions of additive and multiplicative largeness arise from results in Ramsey theory. In this paper, we explain the relationships between these notions for subsets of $\mathbb{N}$ and in more general ring-theoretic structures. We show that multiplicative largeness begets additive largeness in three ways and give a collection of examples demonstrating the optimality of these results. We also give a variety of applications arising from the connection between additive and multiplicative largeness. For example, we show that given any $n, k \in \mathbb{N}$, any finite set with fewer than $n$ elements in a sufficiently large finite field can be translated so that each of its elements becomes a non-zero $k^{\text{th}}$ power. We also prove a theorem concerning Diophantine approximation along multiplicatively syndetic subsets of $\mathbb{N}$ and a theorem showing that subsets of positive upper Banach density in certain multiplicative sub-semigroups of $\mathbb{N}$ of zero density contain arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. Along the way, we develop a new characterization of upper Banach density in a wide class of amenable semigroups and make explicit the uniformity in recurrence theorems from measure theoretic and topological dynamics. This in turn leads to strengthened forms of classical theorems of Szemerédi and van der Waerden on arithmetic progressions.

Abstract:We study some permanence properties of the relative $F$-rational signature defined and studied by Smirnov--Tucker. We show that this invariant is compatible with the gamma-construction, and then derive other main results from the $F$-finite case established by Smirnov--Tucker. We also obtain limited results about the $F$-rational signature defined and studied by Hochster--Yao. We explore some features of the gamma-construction along the way, which may be of independent interest.

Abstract:The traditional rough set theory is a powerful tool to deal with complete information system, and its performance to process incomplete information system is weak, M.Kryszkiewcz has put forward the tolerance relation to handle the problem. however,the method may not be perfect on account of excessively many intersectional elements between classifications. This paper improves the tolerance relation proposed by M.Kryszkiewcz to obtain the gamma-tolerance relation and gamma-tolerance classes, presents rough set model for incomplete information system based on the gamma-tolerance relation. The method of gamma-tolerance relation is proved to be more superior to that of M.Kryszkiewcz's tolerance relation. Finally, the conception of gamma-attributes reduction is defined, and the algorithm of gamma-attribute reduction is provided.

Abstract:We prove that the product of a subset and a normal subset inside any finite simple non-abelian group $G$ grows rapidly. More precisely, if $A$ and $B$ are two subsets with $B$ normal and neither of them is too large inside $G$, then $|AB| \geq |A||B|^{1-\epsilon}$ where $\epsilon>0$ can be taken arbitrarily small. This is a somewhat surprising strengthening of a theorem of Liebeck, Schul, Shalev.
