Abstract:In \cite[Proposition 8.21 Page-169]{F} Using the methods of topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notion of central set and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem. Later, in \cite{DHS}, D. De, H. Hindman and D. Struss established a strong Central Sets Theorem, where they introduced the notion of $J$-set. Like $J$-set, in \cite{BG} V. Bergelson and D. Glasscock introduced the notion of combinatorially rich set ( $CR$-set). Let $u,v\in\mathbb{N}$ and $A$ be a $u\times v$ matrix with rational entries. In \cite{HS23}, N. Hindman and D. Strauss established that whenever $B$ is a piecewise syndetic set (resp. $J$-set) in $\mathbb{Z}$, $\left\{ \vec{x}\in\mathbb{Z}^{v}:A\vec{x}\in B^{u}\right\} $ is a piecewise syndetic set ( resp. $J$-set) in $\mathbb{Z}^{v}$. In this article, we prove the same result for $CR$-sets using an equivalent definition of $CR$-set in \cite{HHST} by N. Hindman, H. Hosseini, D. Strauss and M. Tootkaboni.

Abstract:Combinatorially Rich sets were introduced by Bergelson and Glasscock for commutative semigroup. Latter Hindman, Hosseini, Strauss and Tootkaboni extended the definition of Combinatorially Rich sets for arbitrary semigroup. Recently Goswami proved that product of two Combinatorially Rich sets is also a Combinatorially Rich set. On the other hand Hindman and Leader were the first to introduce the concept of central sets near zero for dense semigroups of $\left(\left(0,\infty\right),+\right)$ and demonstrated an important combinatorial consequence regarding these sets. In this article we provided dynamical and combinatorial characterization of essential CR-sets near zero and explore the cartesian product of these sets.

Abstract:H. Furstenberg defined Central sets in $\mathbb{N}$ by using the notions of topological dynamics, later Bergelson and Hindman characterized central sets in $\mathbb{N}$ and also in arbitrary semigroup in terms of algebra of Stone-Čech compactification of that set. We state the new notion of large sets in a partial semigroup setting and characterize the algebraic structure of the sets by using the algebra of Stone-Čech compactification. By using these notions, we introduce the \emph{Partial Semigroup Partial Dynamical System(PSPDS)} and show that topological dynamical characterization of central sets in a partial semigroup is equivalent to the usual algebraic characterization.

Abstract:Using the methods from topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notions of Central sets and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem which is the simultaneous extension of the van der Waerden and Hindman Theorem. Later N. Hindman and V. Bergelson found an equivalent formulation of Central sets in the set of natural numbers in terms of the algebra of the Stone-Čech compactification of discrete semigroups. The general case was proved by H. Shi and H. Yang. Using the notions of ultrafilters, J. McLeod introduced the notions of Central sets for commutative adequate partial semigroups, however for noncommutative cases, Central sets can be defined similarly. In this article, introducing the notions of topological dynamics for partial semigroup actions, we find an equivalent dynamical characterization of central sets in partial semigroups\footnote{Recently in \cite{GTG}, authors attempted to do the same but in a different approach.}. Throughout our article, we follow the approach of N. Hindman and D. Strauss [N. Hindman, and D. Strauss: Algebra in the Stone-\v Cech compactification: theory and applications, second edition, de Gruyter, Berlin, 2012.].

Abstract:The notion of abundance of certain type of configuration in certain large sets was first proved by Furstenberg and Glazner in 1998. After that many author investigate abundance of different types of configurations in different types of large sets. Hindman, Hosseini, Strauss and Tootkaboni recently introduced another notion of large sets called $CR$ sets. Then Debnath and De proved abundance of arithmetic progression in $CR$ sets for commutative semigroups. In the present article we investigate abundance of progressions in for non-commutative semigroups.

Abstract:Using the methods of topological dynamics, H. Furstenberg introduced the notion of a central set and proved the famous Central Sets Theorem. D. De, N. Hindman, and D. Strauss introduced $C$-set, satisfying the strong central set theorem. Using the algebraic structure of the Stone-Čech compactification of a discrete semigroup, N. Hindman and D. Strauss proved that the Cartesian product of two $C$-sets is a $C$-set. S. Goswami has proved the same result using the elementary characterization of $C$-sets. In this article, we will prove that the product of two $C$-sets is a $C$-set, using the dynamical characterization of $C$-sets. Recently, S. Goswami has proved that the Cartesian product of two $CR$-sets is a $CR$-set, which was a question posed by N. Hindman, H. Hosseini, D. Strauss, and M. Tootkaboni in [Semigroup Forum 107 (2023)]. Here we also prove that the Cartesian product of two essential $CR$-sets is an essential $CR$-set.

Abstract:According to Furstenberg, an \emph{infinite parallelepiped (IP)} set in a semigroup is a set that contains a sequence $a_1,a_2,\dotsc$, together with all finite sums $a_{i_1}+ \dotsb + a_{i_m}$, for natural numbers $m$ and $i_1< \dotsb <i_m$. Using a method of Galvin, Hindman proved that IP sets of natural numbers are \emph{partition regular}: For each finite partition of an IP set, some part must be an IP set, too. Furstenberg noted that the same proof applies to arbitrary semigroups. However, in a semigroup with idempotents, an IP set may be a singleton. A \emph{proper IP set} is one where the witnessing sequence $a_1,a_2,\dotsc$ may be chosen to be \emph{bijective} (in the naturals, every IP set is proper). We provide a complete characterization of semigroups where the proper IP sets are partition regular, and show that this property is equivalent to several other fundamental notions of additive Ramsey theory. Using our results, we prove that if there is a monochromatic proper IP set for each finite coloring of a semigroup, then for each finite coloring of the semigroup there are infinitely many, pairwise disjoint, proper IP sets sharing the same color.

Abstract:We define a natural equivalence relation on collections of cards from the card game SET, and enumerate some of the equivalence classes, vastly generalizing the standard game. On this basis, we describe several alternative games for the SET deck, including the game of STUN, in which the goal is to find three cards with exactly two values in each attribute.

Abstract:Many natural notions of additive and multiplicative largeness arise from results in Ramsey theory. In this paper, we explain the relationships between these notions for subsets of $\mathbb{N}$ and in more general ring-theoretic structures. We show that multiplicative largeness begets additive largeness in three ways and give a collection of examples demonstrating the optimality of these results. We also give a variety of applications arising from the connection between additive and multiplicative largeness. For example, we show that given any $n, k \in \mathbb{N}$, any finite set with fewer than $n$ elements in a sufficiently large finite field can be translated so that each of its elements becomes a non-zero $k^{\text{th}}$ power. We also prove a theorem concerning Diophantine approximation along multiplicatively syndetic subsets of $\mathbb{N}$ and a theorem showing that subsets of positive upper Banach density in certain multiplicative sub-semigroups of $\mathbb{N}$ of zero density contain arbitrarily long arithmetic progressions. Along the way, we develop a new characterization of upper Banach density in a wide class of amenable semigroups and make explicit the uniformity in recurrence theorems from measure theoretic and topological dynamics. This in turn leads to strengthened forms of classical theorems of Szemerédi and van der Waerden on arithmetic progressions.

Abstract:A weakly U abundant is a class of semigroups characterized using some generalized Green' relations. In this paper we discuss the variants of weakly U - abundant semigroups and it is shown that the idempotent variants of these semigroups are again weakly U abundant. Further we also discuss the natural partial order on variants of a weakly U abundant semigroup.

Optimal Bounds on the Growth of Iterated Sumsets in Abelian Semigroups

Abstract:We provide optimal upper bounds on the growth of iterated sumsets $hA=A+\dots+A$ for finite subsets $A$ of abelian semigroups. More precisely, we show that the new upper bounds recently derived from Macaulay's theorem in commutative algebra are best possible, i.e., are actually reached by suitable subsets of suitable abelian semigroups. Our constructions, in a multiplicative setting, are based on certain specific monomial ideals in polynomial algebras and on their deformation into appropriate binomial ideals via Gröbner bases.

Abstract:We develop in this paper general techniques to analyze local combinatorial structures in product sets of two subsets of a countable group which are "large" with respect to certain classes of (not necessarily invariant) means on the group. As applications of our methods, we extend and quantify a series of recent results by Jin, Bergelson-Furstenberg-Weiss, Beiglböck-Bergelson-Fish, Griesmer and DiNasso-Lupini to general countable groups.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the class of affine semigroup generated by integral vectors, whose components are in generalised arithmetic progression and we observe that the defining ideal is determinantal. We also give a sufficient condition on the defining ideal of the semigroup ring for the equality of the Betti numbers of the defining ideal and those of its initial ideal. We introduce the notion of an affine semigroup generated by join of two affine semigroups and show that this affine semigroup exhibits some nice properties including Cohen-Macaulayness.

Abstract:The study of symmetric structures is a new trend in Ramsey theory. Recently in [7], Di Nasso initiated a systematic study of symmetrization of classical Ramsey theoretical results, and proved a symmetric version of several Ramsey theoretic results. In this paper Di Nasso asked if his method could be adapted to find new non-linear Diophantine equations that are partition regular [7,Final remarks (4)]. By analyzing additive, multiplicative, and symmetric large sets, we construct new partition regular equations that give a first affirmative answer to this question. A special case of our result shows that if $P$ is a polynomial with no constant term then the equation $x+P(y-x)=z+w+zw$, where $y\neq x$ is partition regular. Also we prove several new monochromatic patterns involving additive, multiplicative, and symmetric structures. Throughout our work, we use tools from the Algebra of the Stone-Čech Compactifications of discrete semigroups.

Abstract:A subset $X$ of an Abelian group $G$ is called $semiaf\!fine$ if for every $x,y,z\in X$ the set $\{x+y-z,x-y+z\}$ intersects $X$. We prove that a subset $X$ of an Abelian group $G$ is semiaffine if and only if one of the following conditions holds: (1) $X=(H+a)\cup (H+b)$ for some subgroup $H$ of $G$ and some elements $a,b\in X$; (2) $X=(H\setminus C)+g$ for some $g\in G$, some subgroup $H$ of $G$ and some midconvex subset $C$ of the group $H$. A subset $C$ of a group $H$ is $midconvex$ if for every $x,y\in C$, the set $\frac{x+y}2:=\{z\in H:2z=x+y\}$ is a subset of $C$.

Non commutative multidimensional stronger Central Sets Theorem

Abstract:Hindman's theorem and van der Waerden's theorem are two classical Ramsey theoretic results, the first one deals with finite configurations and the second one deals with infinite configurations. The Central Sets Theorem due to Furstenberg is a strong simultaneous extension of both theorems, which also applies to general commutative semigroups. Beiglboeck provided a common extension of the Central Sets Theorem and Milliken-Taylor Theorem in commutative case. Furstenberg's original Central Sets Theorem was proved in \cite{key-2} for $\left(\mathbb{N},+\right)$ for finitely many sequences at a time. Bergelson and Hindman provided a non commutative version of this Theorem \cite{key-3}. The first author of this article jointly with Hindman and Straus provided a non-commutative version of Central Sets Theorem using arbitrary many sequence at a time \cite{key-5}. In this work we will provide a non-commutative extension of Beiglboeck's Theorem. We also provide polynomial generalization of Beiglbock's theorem.
