Abstract:We give a review of the systematic construction of hierarchies of soliton flows and integrable elliptic equations associated to a complex semi-simple Lie algebra and finite order automorphisms. For example, the non-linear Schrödinger equation, the n-wave equation, and the sigma-model are soliton flows; and the equation for harmonic maps from the plane to a compact Lie group, for primitive maps from the plane to a $k$-symmetric space, and constant mean curvature surfaces and isothermic surfaces in space forms are integrable elliptic systems. We also give a survey of (i) construction of solutions using loop group factorizations, (ii) PDEs in differential geometry that are soliton equations or elliptic integrable systems, (iii) similarities and differences of soliton equations and integrable elliptic systems.

Abstract:Starting from a two-line soliton solution of an integrable (2 + 1)-dimensional system in bilinear form, one can find a dromion solution that is localized in all directions for a suitable potential. The interaction between two dromions is studied in detail through the method of figure analysis for a (2 + 1)-dimensional modified Korteweg-deVries (KdV) system, sine-Gordon system and Sawada-Kotera system. Except for a phase shift, there are no changes in the shape and velocity of the dromions after interactions for these models. The interactions of dromions for these models are not only elastic (there is no exchange of energy) but also irrotational (there is no exchange of angular momentum). Abstract:The Yang–Mills–Higgs–Bogomolny equations in both 2+1 dimensional Minkowski space–time and 2+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter space–time are known to be integrable and their soliton solutions have already been obtained. In this article, we show that there is a natural relation between the Lax pairs and soliton solutions in these two space–times when the curvature changes from 0 to −1. The changes of the asymptotic behaviors of the solitons are also discussed.

Abstract:This study investigates optical solitons solutions within the framework of the two new (3 + 1)-dimensional integrable wave equations by employing the modified Sardar sub-equation method. The importance of these suggested models span diverse fields including geophysics, seismology, medical imaging, photonics and sensor development. The derived solutions, meticulously verified using Mathematica, encompass a rich array of mathematical functions including trigonometric, hyperbolic, and exponential functions. Visualization techniques, such as 3D plots, 2D plots, density graphs, contour graphs and polar graphs, effectively illustrate the diverse behaviors exhibited by these soliton solutions. These behaviors include lump, periodic, kink, dark, bright, peakons, cuspons, compactons soliton waves and other complex phenomena. Moreover the modulation instability of the consider model is examined, and corresponding conditions are established. The soliton solutions highlight the efficiency and effectiveness of these method in discovering traveling wave solutions, presenting a valuable tool for addressing a range of nonlinear evolution equations arising in diverse scientific fields such as hydrodynamics, optical fiber communications, plasma physics, ocean engineering, nonlinear dynamics, and condensed matter physics.

Abstract:The Myrzakulov–Lakshmanan Equation-II (MLE-II) that refers to the (2 + 1)-dimensional integrable spin system has five various formalisms. In Our current study we will construct new types of the soliton solutions for only one of these forms namely the MLE-II. These new types of soliton solutions will be constructed through three impressive, effective methods that are employed for the first time to this model. These three methods are the generalized Kudryashov method (GKM), the (G'/G)-expansion method and the differential transform method (DTM). The first two methods are applied to extract the soliton solutions of the suggested model while the third one whose initial conditions emerged from the achieved soliton solutions is considered one of famous numerical methods that we will use to obtain the identical numerical solutions for the realized soliton solutions to ensure quality of these soltions. Moreover, we will establish the 2D, 3D plot simulations to show the characteristic for the dynamic of the newly achieved soliton solutions.

Abstract:We show that the linear systems associated with some integrable hierarchies of the soliton equations in 2 + 1 dimensions can be constrained to integrable hierarchies in 1 + 1 dimensions such that submanifolds solutions of the given systems in 2 + 1 can be obtained by solving the resulting integrable systems in 1 + 1 dimensions. The constraints of the KP hierarchy to the AKNS and Burgers hierarchies respectively are shown in detail and the results of these for the modified KP and 2 + 1 dimensional analogue of the Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Kotera-Sawata equations to several integrable systems in 1 + 1 are given.

Abstract:In the first part of the paper we present the dressing method which generates multi-soliton solutions to integrable systems of nonlinear partial differential equations. We compare the approach of Neugebauer with that of Zakharov, Shabat and Mikhailov. In both cases we discuss the group reductions and reductions defined by some multilinear constraints on matrices of the linear problem. The second part of the paper describes the soliton surfaces approach. The so called Sym-Tafel formula simplifies the explicit reconstruction of the surface from the knowledge of its fundamental forms, unifies various integrable nonlinearities and enables one to apply powerful methods of the theory of solitons to geometrical problems. The Darboux-Bianchi-B\"acklund transformation (i.e., the dressing method on the level of soliton surfaces) reconstructs explicitly many classical transformations of XIX century. We present examples of interesting classes of surfaces obtained from spectral problems. In particular, we consider spectral problems in Clifford algebras associated with orthogonal coordinates. Finally, compact formulas for multi-soliton surfaces are discussed and applied for the Localized Induction Equation with axial flow.

Abstract:Under investigation in this paper is a discrete modified exponential Toda lattice equation which may describe vibration of particles in a lattice. Firstly, we construct an integrable lattice hierarchy associated with this equation from a $2\times 2$ matrix spectral problem, and some related integrable properties such as Hamiltonian structures, Liouville integrability and conservation laws of this hierarchy are discussed. Secondly, we present the discrete generalized $(m, N-m)$-fold Darboux transformation of the modified exponential Toda lattice equation on the basis of its known Lax representation. As applications of the obtained discrete generalized Darboux transformation, multi-kink-soliton solutions on an exponential surface background and an inclined plane background are obtained when $m=2N$, the discrete rational and semi-rational solutions are derived when $m=1$, and the mixed solutions of usual soliton solutions and rational solutions are given when $m=2$. Based on the asymptotic and graphic analysis, soliton elastic interaction phenomena and limit states related to rational solutions are discussed and analyzed. Furthermore, some mathematical features of rational solutions are summarized. Finally, numerical simulations are used to explore the dynamical behaviors of such soliton solutions which show the soliton evolutions are robust against a small noise. These results and properties given in this paper might be useful for understanding nonlinear lattice dynamics.

Abstract:This study investigates the integrable Mikhailov–Novikov–Wang ( ) equation in (1+1)-dimensional space–time, utilizing rigorous analytical methodologies including the Unified ( ) and Khater II ( ) methods, alongside numerical solutions. Situated within the established mathematical framework of physics, the equation holds significant relevance in elucidating various physical phenomena, encompassing solitons, nonlinear wave propagation, quantum mechanics, and field theories, contingent upon the specific context and parameters selected for analysis. The primary objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the equation and propose effective resolution techniques. This is achieved through the amalgamation of diverse analytical and numerical methodologies, facilitating an in-depth exploration of the equation's characteristics. Noteworthy findings indicate that the methods, in conjunction with He's variational iteration method, yield robust and highly accurate solutions. The significance of these results lies in their potential to address complex nonlinear equations, providing researchers and practitioners with versatile tools for analysis and interpretation. This research contributes a novel perspective by skillfully integrating these analytical methodologies, thereby advancing the field of mathematical physics and nonlinear differential equations. It is imperative to note that this study is purely theoretical in nature and does not involve specific subjects or participants. The approach adopted is grounded in meticulous numerical experimentation and analytical scrutiny, ensuring rigor and reliability in the findings presented.

Abstract:The paper aims to establish diverse types of the soliton solutions for the integrable Kuralay equations to discuss the integrable motion of the induced space curves by these equations. The solitons arising from the integrable Kuralay equations are considered by tall superiority and qualitative studies for many effective phenomena in various fields such as ferromagnetic materials, nonlinear optics and optical fibers. There are two various schemes are suggested to establish these diverse types of solitons that arise from this model, namely the extended simple equation method and the Paul-Painleve approach method. New diverse types of the soliton solutions that appear in forms of periodic trigonometric function soliton solutions, parabolic function soliton solutions, singular soliton solutions, W-like soliton solutions and M-like soliton solutions have been documented. The suggested techniques are used for the first time for this target. The achieved soliton solutions will offer a rich podium to study the nonlinear spin dynamics in magnetic materials. Moreover, we will construct the numerical solutions for all achieved soliton solutions by using the differential transform methods. The comparison between the new achieved soliton solutions with its consistent numerical solutions has been documented.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the integrability of a (2+1)-dimensional generalized KdV equation. In virtue of the Weiss–Tabor–Carnevale method and Kruskal ansatz, this equation can pass the Painlevé test. The truncated Painlevé expansion leads to the Bäcklund transformation and rational solutions. The bilinear Bäcklund transformation and Bell-polynomial-typed Bäcklund transformation are constructed with the Hirota bilinear method and Bell polynomials. It is proved that the (2+1)-dimensional generalized KdV equation can be regarded as an integrable model in sense of infinite conservation laws. The formula of N -soliton solutions is given and verified with the Hirota condition. The study of integrability provides theoretical guidance for solving equations and gives the possibility of the existence of exact solutions.

Solitons in 4d Wess-Zumino-Witten models -- Towards unification of integrable systems --

Abstract:We construct soliton solutions of the four-dimensional Wess-Zumino-Witten (4dWZW) model in the context of a unified theory of integrable systems with relation to the 4d/6d Chern-Simons theory. We calculate the action density of the solutions and find that the soliton solutions behave as the KP-type solitons, that is, the one-soliton solution has a localized action/energy density on a 3d hyperplane in 4-dimensions (soliton wall) and the n-soliton solution describes n intersecting soliton walls with phase shifts. We note that the Ward conjecture holds mostly in the split signature (+,+,-,-). Furthermore, the 4dWZW model describes the string field theory action of the open N=2 string theory in the four-dimensional space-time with the split signature and hence our soliton solutions would describe a new-type of physical objects in the N=2 string theory. We discuss instanton solutions in the 4dWZW model as well. Noncommutative extension and quantization of the unified theory of integrable systems are also discussed.

Abstract:This study focuses on mathematically exploring the Kuralay equation, which is applicable in diverse fields such as nonlinear optics, optical fibers, and ferromagnetic materials. This study aims to investigate various soliton solutions and analyze the integrable motion of the induced space curves. This study employs traveling wave transformation, converting the partial differential equation (PDE) into an ordinary differential equation (ODE). Soliton solutions are derived utilizing both the generalized Jacobi elliptic function expansion (JEFE) method and novel extended direct algebraic (EDA) methods. The outcomes encompass a diverse range of soliton solutions, including double periodic waves, shock wave solutions, kink-shaped soliton solutions, solitary waves, bell-shaped solitons, and periodic wave solutions, obtained using Mathematica. In contrast, the EDA method produces dark, bright, singular, combined dark-bright solitons, dark-singular combined solitons, solitary wave solutions, etc. Visual representation of these soliton solutions is accomplished through 3D, 2D, and contour graphics, with a meticulous selection of parametric values. The graphical presentation underscores the influence of the parameters on the soliton propagation.

Abstract:We show that any nonlinear field theory giving rise to static solutions with finite energy like, e.g., topological solitons, allows us to derive a continuous infinity of integral identities which any such solution has to obey. These integral identities can always be understood as being generated by field transformations and their related Noether currents. We also explain why all integral identities generated by coordinate transformations become trivial for Bogomolnyi-Prasad-Sommerfield (BPS) solitons, i.e., topological solitons which saturate a topological energy bound. Finally, we consider applications of these identities to a broad class of nonlinear scalar theories, including the Skyrme model. More concretely, we find nontrivial integral identities that can be seen as model-independent relations between certain physical properties of the solitons in such theories, and we comment on the possible connection between these new relations and those already found in the context of astrophysical compact objects. We also demonstrate the usefulness of said identities to estimate the precision of the numerical calculation of soliton observables.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on investigating a (2+1)-dimensional generalized breaking soliton (gBS) equation with five model parameters, which contains a lot of important nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) as its special cases. Firstly, the integrability features of two special cases of the gBS equation are clarified. Secondly, a general method is established to construct solutions formed by a combination of <math>n−cosh</math> and <math>n−cos</math> expressions. The similar results can be generalized to other PDEs which possess the Hirota bilinear forms. Thirdly, by introducing the nonzero seed solution, we obtain the real non-static lumps, lump-soliton solutions and other relevant exact solutions. The results expand the understanding of lump, freak wave and their interaction solutions in soliton theory. Moreover, various graphical analyses on the presented solutions are made to reveal the dynamic behaviors, which gives an essential improvement in the physical realizing of higher-dimensional lump waves in oceanography and nonlinear optics.
