Abstract:Let k be a positive integer and p be a prime.We give some congruences involving the binomial coefficients((k+1)p-a)p-a),(kp-1p-a) with 1 ≤ a ≤ p-1 and （kp+p-1/2b±p-1/2±b),(kp-1p-1/2±b) with 0 ≤ b ≤ p-1/2.In particular,we get a generalization of Morley's congruence.Meanwhile,some congruences about the summation of ((k+1)p-ap-a) are obtained.

Abstract:Making use of a telescoping approach, three types of sums of binomial quotients are examined. The summation terms of the two types of alternating sums have symmetry (i.e., their numerators and denominators are completely symmetric). We obtained a series of their explicit sums. Furthermore, by means of binomial relations, three recurrence relations of the sums are derived. In addition, series of double summation formulae involving binomial quotients are established.

Abstract:We provide combinatorial tools inspired by work of Warnaar to give combinatorial interpretations of the sum sides of the Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud identities. More precisely, we give an explicit weight- and length-preserving bijection between sets related to integer partitions, which provides these interpretations. In passing, we discover the $q$-series version of an identity of Kurşungöz, similar to the Bressoud identity but with opposite parity conditions, which we prove combinatorially using the classical Bressoud identity and our bijection. We also use this bijection to prove combinatorially many identities, some known and other new, of the Andrews-Gordon and Bressoud type.

Abstract:Binomial coefficients and central trinomial coefficients play important roles in combinatorics. Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}\equiv\left(\frac p3\right)3^{p-1}\ \pmod{p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences modulo $p^3$ conjectured by Sun, one of which is $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}k\binom{2k}k((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})\equiv \left(\frac p3\right)(3^{p-1}-1)\ \pmod{p^3}.$$ In addition, we get some new combinatorial identities.

Abstract:It is known that∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)4k=π2and∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)16k=π3. In this paper we obtain their p-adic analogues such as∑p/23 is a prime and E0,E1,E2,… are Euler numbers. Besides these, we also deduce some other congruences related to central binomial coefficients. In addition, we pose some conjectures one of which states that for any odd prime p we have∑k=0p−1(2kk)3≡{4x2−2p(modp2)if(p7)=1&p=x2+7y2(x,y∈Z),0(modp2)if(p7)=−1,i.e.,p≡3,5,6(mod7).

Abstract:In 1913 A. Fleck proved that if p is a prime, and n > 0 and r are integers then ∑ k≡r (mod p) (n k ) (−1) ≡ 0 ( mod pb(n−1)/(p−1)c ) . Only recently the significance of Fleck’s congruence was realized. It plays a fundamental role in Colmez’ and Wan’s investigation of the ψ-operator related to Fontaine’s theory and p-adic Langlands correspondence. In this talk we give a survey of the recent developments of Fleck’s congruence and its various extensions, as well as some important applications to Stirling numbers of the second kind and homotopy exponents of special unitary groups given by Davis and the speaker. Abstract:A frequently cited theorem says that for n > 0 and prime p, the sum of the first p n-th powers is congruent to -1 modulo p if p-1 divides n, and to 0 otherwise. We survey the main ingredients in several known proofs. Then we give an elementary proof, using an identity for power sums proven by Pascal in 1654. An application is a simple proof of a congruence for certain sums of binomial coefficients, due to Hermite and Bachmann.

Abstract:I use polynomial analogue of the Jacobi triple product identity together with the Eisenstein formula for the Legendre symbol modulo 3 . to prove six identities involving the $q$-binomial coefficients. These identities are then extended to the new infinite hierarchies of q-series identities by means of the special case of Bailey's lemma. Some of the identities of Ramanujan, Slater, McLaughlin and Sills are obtained this way.

Abstract:Using cyclotomic multiple zeta values of level $8$, we confirm and generalize several conjectural identities on infinite series with summands involving $\binom{2k}k8^k/(\binom{3k}k\binom{6k}{3k})$. For example, we prove that \[\sum_{k=0}^\infty\frac{(350k-17)\binom{2k}k8^k} {\binom{3k}k\binom{6k}{3k}}=15\sqrt2\,\pi+27\] and \[\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{\left\{(5k-1)\left[16\mathsf H_{2k-1}^{(2)}-3\mathsf H_{k-1}^{(2)}\right]-\frac{12(6k-1)}{(2k-1)^2}\right\}\binom{2k}k8^k} {k(2k-1)\binom{3k}k\binom{6k}{3k}}=\frac{\pi^3}{12\sqrt2},\] where $\mathsf H^{(2)}_m$ denotes the second-order harmonic number $\sum_{0<j\leq m}\frac1{j^2}$.
