Abstract:Let k be a positive integer and p be a prime.We give some congruences involving the binomial coefficients((k+1)p-a)p-a),(kp-1p-a) with 1 ≤ a ≤ p-1 and （kp+p-1/2b±p-1/2±b),(kp-1p-1/2±b) with 0 ≤ b ≤ p-1/2.In particular,we get a generalization of Morley's congruence.Meanwhile,some congruences about the summation of ((k+1)p-ap-a) are obtained.

Abstract:Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}=(p/3)3^{p-1} (mod p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences conjectured by Sun one of which is as follows: $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}{k}\binom{2k}{k}((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})=(p/3)(3^{p-1}-1) (mod p^3).$$

Abstract:Binomial coefficients and central trinomial coefficients play important roles in combinatorics. Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}\equiv\left(\frac p3\right)3^{p-1}\ \pmod{p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences modulo $p^3$ conjectured by Sun, one of which is $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}k\binom{2k}k((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})\equiv \left(\frac p3\right)(3^{p-1}-1)\ \pmod{p^3}.$$ In addition, we get some new combinatorial identities.

Besides these, we also deduce some other congruences related to central binomial coefficients. Abstract:Zhao established the following harmonic congruence for prime p > 3:Sigma(i,j,k>0i+j+k=p) 1/ijk equivalent to -2B(p-3) (mod p).In this note, the authors improve it to the following congruence for prime p > 5:Sigma(i,j,k>0i+j+k=p) 1/ijk equivalent to 12B(p-3)/p-3 - 3B(2p-4)/p-2 (mod p(2)).Meanwhile, they also improve a generalization of Zhao's congruence and extend Eisenstein's congruence.

Abstract:This paper proves three conjectures on congruences involving central binomial coefficients or Lucas sequences. Let p be an odd prime and let a be a positive integer. It is shown that if p ≡ 1 (mod 4) or a > 1 then ∑_k = 0^⌊34p^a ⌋( - 1/2k) ≡( 2p^a )( p^2 ) , where (−) denotes the Jacobi symbol. This confirms a conjecture of the second author. A conjecture of Tauraso is also confirmed by showing that ∑_k = 1^⌊p - 1⌋L_k k^2 ≡ 0( p)providedp > 5, where the Lucas numbers L 0 , L 1 , L 2 , … are defined by L 0 = 2, L 1 = 1 and L n +1 = L n + L n −1 ( n = 1, 2, 3, …). The third theorem states that if p ≠ 5 then F_p^a - (p^a 5) mod p 3 can be determined in the following way: ∑_k = 0^p^a - 1( - 1)^k (_k^2k ) ≡( p^a 5)(1 - 2F_p^a - (p^a 5) )( p^3 ), which appeared as a conjecture in a paper of Sun and Tauraso in 2010.

We find an explicit period νm(q) such that for any integers n>0 and r we have[n+νm(q)r]m(a)≡[nr]m(a)(modq) whenever a is an integer with gcd(1−(−a)m,q)=1, or a≡−1(modq), or a≡1(modq) and 2|m, where [nr]m(a)=∑k≡r(modm)(nk)ak. Abstract:In this paper we obtain some congruences involving central binomial coefficients and Lucas sequences. For example, we show that if p>5 is a prime then $\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}F_k*binom(2k,k)/12^k$ is congruent to 0,1,-1 modulo p according as p=1,4 (mod 5), p=13,17 (mod 30), and p=7,23 (mod 30) respectively, where {F_n} is the Fibonacci sequence. We also raise several conjectures.

For any p-adic integer a, we determine ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k, ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2), ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)/2k+1 modulo p^2, where H_k=∑_0<j≤ k1/j and H_k^(2)=∑_0<j≤ k1/j^2. In particular, we show that ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k≡(-1)^⟨ a⟩_p 2(B_p-1(a)-B_p-1) p, ∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)≡ -E_p-3(a) p, (2a-1)∑_k=0^p-1-aka-1kH_k^(2)/2k+1≡ B_p-2(a) p, where ⟨ a⟩_p stands for the least nonnegative integer r with a≡ rp, and B_n(x) and E_n(x) denote the Bernoulli polynomial of degree n and the Euler polynomial of degree n respectively. We also pose some new conjectures on congruences.

Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $x$ be a $p$-adic integer. In this paper, we establish supercongruences for $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-4)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2} $$ and $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-2)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $d\in\{0,1,2\}$. As consequences, we extend some known results. For example, for $p>3$ we show $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{3k}{k}\left(\frac{4}{27}\right)^k\equiv\frac19+\frac89p+\frac{4}{27}pE_{p-2}\left(\frac13\right)\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $E_n(x)$ denotes the Euler polynomial of degree $n$. This generalizes a known congruence of Z.-W. Sun.

In this paper, using WZ method we establish the congruences for $\sum_{k=0}^{p-1} \binom ak^2(-1)^k(1-\frac 2ak)$ modulo $p^2$ and $\sum_{k=0}^{p-1} \binom ak^r(1-\frac 2ak)^s$ modulo $p^4$, where $r\in\{3,4\}$ and $s\in\{1,3\}$.

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime and let $a$ be a positive integer. In this paper we investigate $\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom[(h+1)k,k+d]/m^k$ modulo a prime $p$, where $d$ and $m$ are integers with $-h<d<=p^a$ and $m\not=0 (mod p)$. We also study congruences involving higher-order Catalan numbers $C_k^{(h)}=\binom[(h+1)k,k]/(hk+1)$ and $\bar C_k^{(h)}=\binomal[(h+1)k,k]*h/(k+1)$. Our tools include linear recurrences and the theory of cubic residues. Here are some typical results in the paper. (i) If $p^a=1 (mod 6)$ then $$\sum_{k=1}^{p^a-1}\binom[3k,k]/6^k=2^{(p^a-1)/3}-1 (mod p).$$ Also, $$\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom[3k,k]/7^k=\cases-2&if p^a=\pm2 (mod 7), \\1&otherwise.$$ (ii) We have $$\sum_{k=1}^{p^a-1}\binom[4k,k]/5^k=\cases1 (mod p) if p\not=11 and p^a=1 (mod 5), \1/11 (mod p)&if p^a=2,3 (mod 5), \9/11 (mod p) if p^a=4 (mod 5). $$ Also, $$\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}C_k^{(3)}/5^k=\cases1 (mod p) if p^a=1,3 (mod 5), \2 (mod p) if p^a=2 (mod 5), \\0 (mod p)& p^a=4 (mod 5).$$
