Abstract:Let k be a positive integer and p be a prime.We give some congruences involving the binomial coefficients((k+1)p-a)p-a),(kp-1p-a) with 1 ≤ a ≤ p-1 and （kp+p-1/2b±p-1/2±b),(kp-1p-1/2±b) with 0 ≤ b ≤ p-1/2.In particular,we get a generalization of Morley's congruence.Meanwhile,some congruences about the summation of ((k+1)p-ap-a) are obtained.

We find an explicit period νm(q) such that for any integers n>0 and r we have[n+νm(q)r]m(a)≡[nr]m(a)(modq) whenever a is an integer with gcd(1−(−a)m,q)=1, or a≡−1(modq), or a≡1(modq) and 2|m, where [nr]m(a)=∑k≡r(modm)(nk)ak. Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $x$ be a $p$-adic integer. In this paper, we establish supercongruences for $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-4)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2} $$ and $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-2)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $d\in\{0,1,2\}$. As consequences, we extend some known results. For example, for $p>3$ we show $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{3k}{k}\left(\frac{4}{27}\right)^k\equiv\frac19+\frac89p+\frac{4}{27}pE_{p-2}\left(\frac13\right)\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $E_n(x)$ denotes the Euler polynomial of degree $n$. This generalizes a known congruence of Z.-W. Sun.

Abstract:It is known that∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)4k=π2and∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)16k=π3. In this paper we obtain their p-adic analogues such as∑p/23 is a prime and E0,E1,E2,… are Euler numbers. Besides these, we also deduce some other congruences related to central binomial coefficients. In addition, we pose some conjectures one of which states that for any odd prime p we have∑k=0p−1(2kk)3≡{4x2−2p(modp2)if(p7)=1&p=x2+7y2(x,y∈Z),0(modp2)if(p7)=−1,i.e.,p≡3,5,6(mod7).

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime and let $a$ be a positive integer. In this paper we investigate $\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom[(h+1)k,k+d]/m^k$ modulo a prime $p$, where $d$ and $m$ are integers with $-h<d<=p^a$ and $m\not=0 (mod p)$. We also study congruences involving higher-order Catalan numbers $C_k^{(h)}=\binom[(h+1)k,k]/(hk+1)$ and $\bar C_k^{(h)}=\binomal[(h+1)k,k]*h/(k+1)$. Our tools include linear recurrences and the theory of cubic residues. Here are some typical results in the paper. (i) If $p^a=1 (mod 6)$ then $$\sum_{k=1}^{p^a-1}\binom[3k,k]/6^k=2^{(p^a-1)/3}-1 (mod p).$$ Also, $$\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom[3k,k]/7^k=\cases-2&if p^a=\pm2 (mod 7), \\1&otherwise.$$ (ii) We have $$\sum_{k=1}^{p^a-1}\binom[4k,k]/5^k=\cases1 (mod p) if p\not=11 and p^a=1 (mod 5), \1/11 (mod p)&if p^a=2,3 (mod 5), \9/11 (mod p) if p^a=4 (mod 5). $$ Also, $$\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}C_k^{(3)}/5^k=\cases1 (mod p) if p^a=1,3 (mod 5), \2 (mod p) if p^a=2 (mod 5), \\0 (mod p)& p^a=4 (mod 5).$$

Abstract:Binomial coefficients and central trinomial coefficients play important roles in combinatorics. Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}\equiv\left(\frac p3\right)3^{p-1}\ \pmod{p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences modulo $p^3$ conjectured by Sun, one of which is $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}k\binom{2k}k((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})\equiv \left(\frac p3\right)(3^{p-1}-1)\ \pmod{p^3}.$$ In addition, we get some new combinatorial identities.

Abstract:In this paper we establish some explicit congruences for Euler polynomials modulo a general positive integer. As a consequence, if a, m is an element of Z and 2 inverted iota m then m(k+1)/2 E-k (x+a/m) - (-1)(a)/2 E-k(x) is an element of Z[x] for every k = 0,1,2,..., which may be regarded as a refinement of a multiplication formula.

Abstract:In 1913 A. Fleck proved that if p is a prime, and n > 0 and r are integers then ∑ k≡r (mod p) (n k ) (−1) ≡ 0 ( mod pb(n−1)/(p−1)c ) . Only recently the significance of Fleck’s congruence was realized. It plays a fundamental role in Colmez’ and Wan’s investigation of the ψ-operator related to Fontaine’s theory and p-adic Langlands correspondence. In this talk we give a survey of the recent developments of Fleck’s congruence and its various extensions, as well as some important applications to Stirling numbers of the second kind and homotopy exponents of special unitary groups given by Davis and the speaker. Abstract:The partition function $ p_{[1^c\ell^d]}(n)$ can be defined using the generating function, \[\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}p_{[1^c{\ell}^d]}(n)q^n=\prod_{n=1}^{\infty}\dfrac{1}{(1-q^n)^c(1-q^{\ell n})^d}.\] In \cite{P}, we proved infinite family of congruences for this partition function for $\ell=11$. In this paper, we extend the ideas that we have used in \cite{P} to prove infinite families of congruences for the partition function $p_{[1^c\ell^d]}(n)$ modulo powers of $\ell$ for any integers $c$ and $d$, for primes $5\leq \ell\leq 17$. This generalizes Atkin, Gordon and Hughes' congruences for powers of the partition function. The proofs use an explicit basis for the vector space of modular functions of the congruence subgroup $\Gamma_0(\ell)$. Finally we used these congruences to prove congruences and incongruences of the generalized Frobenius $\ell$-color partitions, $\ell-$regular partitions and $\ell-$core partitions for $\ell=5,7,11,13$ and $17$.

Abstract:The harmonic numbers $H_n=\sum_{03$ be a prime. With helps of some combinatorial identities, we establish the following two new congruences: $$\sum_{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{2k}k}kH_k\equiv\frac13\left(\frac p3\right)B_{p-2}\left(\frac13\right)\pmod{p}$$ and $$\sum_{k=1}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{2k}k}kH_{2k}\equiv\frac7{12}\left(\frac p3\right)B_{p-2}\left(\frac13\right)\pmod{p},$$ where $B_n(x)$ denotes the Bernoulli polynomial of degree $n$. As an application, we determine $\sum_{n=1}^{p-1}g_n$ and $\sum_{n=1}^{p-1}h_n$ modulo $p^3$, where $$g_n=\sum_{k=0}^n\binom nk^2\binom{2k}k\quad\mbox{and}\quad h_n=\sum_{k=0}^n\binom nk^2C_k$$ with $C_k=\binom{2k}k/(k+1)$.
