Abstract:Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is typically considered a differential diagnosis for subgemmal neurogenic plaque (SNP), but the co-occurrence of both adjacent lesions is exceedingly rare. Here is a report on a 47-year-old female patient: The patient complained of severe pain in the posterior third of her tongue. Upon intraoral examination, multiple soft, reddish, rounded papules were observed. An incisional biopsy was performed, resulting in a histopathological diagnosis of SNP and lymphoid tissue hyperplasia.
