Abstract:In this paper, firstly, we define the Qq-generating matrix for bi-periodic Fibonacci polynomial. And we give nth power, determinant and some properties of the bi-periodic Fibonacci polynomial by considering this matrix representation. Also, we introduce the Hadamard products for bi-periodic Fibonacci Qnq generating matrix and bi-periodic Lucas Qnl generating matrix of which entries is bi-periodic Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. Then, we investigate some properties of these products.

Abstract:In this paper, we considered the generalized bi-periodic Fibonacci polynomials, and obtained some identities related to generalized bi-periodic Fibonacci polynomials using the matrix theory. In addition, the generalized bi-periodic Lucas polynomial was defined by $ L_{n}\left (x \right) = bp\left (x \right) L_{n-1}\left (x \right)+q\left (x \right)L_{n-2}\left (x \right) $ (if $ n $ is even) or $ L_{n}\left (x \right) = ap\left (x \right) L_{n-1}\left (x \right)+q\left (x \right)L_{n-2}\left (x \right) $ (if $ n $ is odd), with initial conditions $ L_{0}\left (x \right) = 2 $, $ L_{1}\left (x \right) = ap\left (x \right) $, where $ p\left (x \right) $ and $ q\left (x \right) $ were nonzero polynomials in $ Q \left [ x \right ] $. We obtained a series of identities related to the generalized bi-periodic Fibonacci and Lucas polynomials.

Abstract:The Fibonacci polynomials are defined recursively as $f_{n}(x)=xf_{n-1}(x)+f_{n-2}(x)$, where $f_0(x) = 0$ and $f_1(x)= 1$. We generalize these polynomials to an arbitrary number of variables with the $r$-Fibonacci polynomial. We extend several well-known results such as the explicit Binet formula and a Cassini-like identity, and use these to prove that the $r$-Fibonacci polynomials are irreducible over $\mathbb{C}$ for $n \geq r \geq 3$. Additionally, we derive an explicit sum formula and a generalized generating function. Using these results, we establish connections to ordinary Bell polynomials, exponential Bell polynomials, Fubini numbers, and integer and set partitions.

Abstract:We have studied several generalizations of Fibonacci sequences as the sequences with arbitrary initial values, the addition of two and more Fibonacci subsequences and Fibonacci polynomials with arbitrary bases. For Fibonacci numbers with congruent indices we derived general formula in terms of generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Lucas numbers. By extending Binet formula to arbitrary real numbers we constructed Binet-Fibonacci curve in complex plane. For positive numbers the curve is oscillating with exponentially vanishing amplitude, while for negative numbers it becomes Binet Fibonacci spiral. Comparison with the nautilus curve shows quite similar behavior. Areas under the curve and curvature characteristics are calculated, as well as the asymptotic of relative characteristics. Asymptotically for n going to infinity the region become, infinitely wide with infinitesimally small height so that the area has finite value $A_{\infty}=\frac{2}{5 \pi} ln(\varphi)$.

Abstract:The hybrid numbers were introduced by Ozdemir [9] as a new generalization of complex, dual, and hyperbolic numbers. A hybrid number is defined by $k=a+bi+c\epsilon +dh$, where $a,b,c,d$ are real numbers and $% i,\epsilon ,h$ are operators such that $i^{2}=-1,\epsilon ^{2}=0,h^{2}=1$ and $ih=-hi=\epsilon +i$. This work is intended as an attempt to introduce the bi-periodic Horadam hybrid numbers which generalize the classical Horadam hybrid numbers. We give the generating function, the Binet formula, and some basic properties of these new hybrid numbers. Also, we investigate some relationships between generalized bi-periodic Fibonacci hybrid numbers and generalized bi-periodic\ Lucas hybrid numbers.

Binary Matrix Factorisation via Column Generation

Abstract:Identifying discrete patterns in binary data is an important dimensionality reduction tool in machine learning and data mining. In this paper, we consider the problem of low-rank binary matrix factorisation (BMF) under Boolean arithmetic. Due to the hardness of this problem, most previous attempts rely on heuristic techniques. We formulate the problem as a mixed integer linear program and use a large scale optimisation technique of column generation to solve it without the need of heuristic pattern mining. Our approach focuses on accuracy and on the provision of optimality guarantees. Experimental results on real world datasets demonstrate that our proposed method is effective at producing highly accurate factorisations and improves on the previously available best known results for 15 out of 24 problem instances.

On the numerology of trigonometric polynomials

Abstract:This note is about the observation that the various transition formulas between bases of trigonometric polynomials can be expressed in terms binomial coefficients. More specifically, we write the entries of the Chebyshev matrices $ T$ and $ U$ in terms of binomial coefficients. We remark that the inverses of certain submatrices of the Chebyshev matrix $ T$ correspond to classical power reduction formulas for trigonometric functions. Therefore the entries of $ T^{-1}$ are expressible in terms of binomial coefficients and powers of two. The inverses of certain submatrices of the Chebyshev matrix $ U$ appear in power reduction formulas involving the Catalan triangles. We could not spot them in the literature. As a corollary the Catalan triangles are interpreted as inverses of rather natural matrices of binomial coefficients. We explain the matrix inversions in terms of Riordan arrays. We solve the integral $ \int _{0}^{2\pi }\cos^{2m}( x)\sin^{2n}( x) dx$ and deduce a hypergeometric identity from the Fourier expansion of $\cos^{2m}(x)$ and $ \sin^{2n}( x)$. As a corollary we prove that super Catalan numbers are integers. We emphasize that from the point of view of these base changes between the trigonometric polynomials it is more natural to work with $2\cos(x)$ and $2\sin(x)$ instead of $\cos(x)$ and $\sin(x)$, since the transition matrices become invertible over the integers. We do a similar analysis for the spread polynomials. This enables us to make a conjecture of Goh and Wildberger more precise. In this exposition we give a mostly self-contained account of the matter, the prerequisites just being four semesters of calculus, linear algebra, elementary complex variables and the residue theorem.

Abstract:We explore new types of binomial sums with Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. The binomial coefficients under consideration are $\frac{n}{n+k}\binom{n+k}{n-k}$ and $\frac{k}{n+k}\binom{n+k}{n-k}$. The identities are derived by relating the underlying sums to Chebyshev polynomials. Finally, some combinatorial sums are studied and a connection to a recent paper by Chu and Guo from 2022 is derived.

Abstract:We explore a certain family $\{A_n\}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ of $n \times n$ tridiagonal real symmetric matrices. After deriving a three-term recurrence relation for the characteristic polynomials of this family, we find a closed form solution. The coefficients of these characteristic polynomials turn out to involve the diagonal entries of Pascal's triangle in a tantalizingly predictive manner. Lastly, we explore a relation between the eigenvalues of various members of the family. More specifically, we give a sufficient condition on the values $m,n \in \mathbb{N}$ for when $\texttt{spec}(A_m)$ is contained in $\texttt{spec}(A_n)$. We end the paper with a number of open questions, one of which intertwines our characteristic polynomials with the Fibonacci sequence in an intriguing manner involving ellipses.

The entries of these matrices are defined on the set R⊆Z≥0n with multidimensional binomial coefficients along with several variables. In the following, we will investigate the algebraic properties of these matrices in terms of products, powers, and inverses of the matrices and also some factorization formulas using this method.

Abstract:In this article, we define $q$-generalized Fibonacci polynomials and $q$-generalized Lucas polynomials using $q$-binomial coefficient and obtain their recursive properties. In addition, we introduce generalized $q$-Fibonacci matrix and generalized $q$-Lucas matrix, then we derive their basic identities. We define $(k,q,t)$-symmetric generalized Fibonacci matrix and $(k,q,t)$-symmetric generalized Lucas matrix, then we give the Cholesky factorization of these matrices. Finally, we give determinantal and permanental representations of these new polynomial sequences.

Abstract:The periodicity of a general matrix modular transformation is discussed, and a simple proof of a sufficient and necessary condition that a matrix transformation has periodicity is given. Using a block matrix method, the higher dimensional transformation and its inverse are studied, and a simple algorithm for calculating their periods is put forward. The security of n-dimensional Arnold transformation and its inverse is also discussed. The results show that the two transformations are applicable in scrambling and recovering images.

Abstract:Spinors are important objects in physics, which have found their place more and more after the discovery that particles have an intrinsic angular momentum shape and Cartan's mathematical expression of this situation. Recent studies using special number sequences have also revealed a new approach to the use of spinors in mathematics and have provided a different perspective for spinor research that can be used as a source for future physics studies. The purpose of this work is to expand the generalized Fibonacci quaternion polynomials to the generalized Fibonacci polynomial spinors by associating spinors with quaternions, and to introduce and investigate a new polynomial sequence that can be used to benefit from the potential advantages of spinors in physical applications, and thus, to provide mathematical arguments, such as new polynomials, for studies using spinors and quaternions in quantum mechanics. Starting from this point of view, in this paper we introduce and investigate a new family of sequences called generalized Fibospinomials (or generalized Fibonacci polynomial spinors or Horadam polynomial spinors). Being particular cases, we use (r,s)-Fibonacci and (r,s)-Lucas polynomial spinors. We present Binet's formulas, generating functions and the summation formulas for these polynomials. In addition, we obtain some special identities of these new sequences and matrices related to these polynomials. The importance of this study is that generalized Fibospinomials are currently the most generalized sequence in the literature when moving from Fibonacci quaternions to spinor structure, and that a wide variety of new spinor sequences can be obtained from this particular polynomial sequence.
